    Aperol Spritz

So we just needed a place to sit and have a drink. This place is clean, good service, drinks were average. Had an Aperol Spritz and an Espresso Martini (on tap). Finished with a Guinness that came in a small G glass, was too cold and it wasn't poured correctly. But they have plenty of other of beers on tap. There's a pool table and a jukebox.

I recently had attended a private party in the Columbus Cafe downstairs room. There was a wonderful bartender ( James ) who was attentive and made great cocktails. No host bar. Although there is no bathroom attached to the room, there are restrooms in the main bar up the staircase. Great space for a good vibe intimate party atmosphere.

This block is super cool and old-fashioned...alternative...2 bars...Gino and Carlo and Columbus Cafe in North Beach Little Italy...I used AMI app to play music for a small fee and play billiards as well...try the 2 bars...have gone to the restaurant Sotto Mare...and also Golden Boy pizza many times...this block is super fun...glad that we enjoyed it...with my family too...always inviting...alternative...fun...North Beach...the 2 bars have ephemera on the wall...boxing...billiards plaques...worth visiting for tourists and inhabitants....first times and hopefully not the last times...

I got invited to this café located in the Little Italy of San Francisco, for a private event hosted by my friend for a movie night. My friend rented more specifically the private room of this establishment, which was a perfect place for fun gathering with friends. The private area (downstairs) also had its own bar, so you and your friends could enjoy delicious drinks as you watch your movie. The place also allowed us to bring food from outside, so my friend got us pizza and salad. The bar staff kindly helped us set up the food and provide some utensils when we realized that we didn't bring any. Overall, it was a good experience. My only complaint is probably just the restrooms, which seemed a little bit dirty to me, but then again it's probably quite a normal standard for bathrooms at a bar in SF...

What better way to spend over an hour waiting for a table to eat cioppino next door... There were 2 seats at the bar available There were seemingly locals playing pool in the back There was the heavily intoxicated and over dramatic lady riding her date in a booth Stiff drinks with efficient service Yup pretty good night

I attended a private party on 6/1/24. We had Michael as our Bartender. He was EXCELLENT from the moment we arrived to decorate, until the end of the party . His Energy was so lovely and welcoming. The space was lovely & very intimate. Everyone enjoyed themselves. I would recommend this space to all that wants to throw a private party. We were able to have a professional balloon artist by the name of BOLICIOUS BALLOONS come. She was really great as well! She arrived on time , ready to set up and bring the party to life just alone with her Balloons. Having Michael as the Bartender was the BEST. ( all should request him) If you want to go by and visit him before booking to meet and watch how he works you can also catch him bartendering on Monday nights !!

    Margarita was nice and strong!

What originally started as a disappointment became a huge blessing once we found the board room. Feet aching, sweaty, and tired we made our way to this bar. Immediately you could tell it's a local favorite, the ambiance was nice and a great spot to people-watch. There was a cup flipping event which was super fun to spectate, along side the rotating pictures of the bar's beloved pooches . We ordered 2 western burgers, 12 count bone-in wings (half bbq, half Hawaiian), and an appetizer of corn dogs, tater tots, bacon Mac & cheese bites, and mozzarella sticks. Later we also added boneless buffalo wings which were so tangy, well-seasoned, and HOT. The western bacon burgers were so delicious, crispy bacon, crispy onion rings, and some bomb.com bbq sauce. The wings were drowned in sauce (just how we like them) , the bbq was to die for and the Hawaiian had the perfect little kick of spice for our picky eaters. The appetizer platter was also fried to perfection, with the perfect crunch on the tater tots & corn dogs. The Mac & cheese bites & mozzarella sticks were perfectly cheesed, with an amazing cheese pull on the mozzarella sticks. Along with the food, my boyfriend and I ordered some drinks. I got a margarita and he got a Guinness. Both drinks were good, very standard and well served. The couple behind the bar were very funny and super kind to us being dazed after all the walking. On our way back down to SoCal my brother is still raving about the burgers, this is a MUST-STOP the next time we come up to San Francisco!!

From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the sleek, moody ambiance dim lighting, plush seating, and a vibe that says "stay awhile." It's the kind of place where every detail feels intentional, from the curated cocktail list to the smooth jazz humming in the background. But what truly made the night stand out was Adam. He was an absolutely attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. Whether it was recommending the perfect bourbon or just checking in with genuine care, Adam made us feel like VIPs without ever being over the top. You can tell he takes pride in creating a memorable experience. The drinks were expertly crafted (the smoked old fashioned was a standout and don't forget the espresso martini), and the small plates were just as impressive elevated comfort food with a creative twist. If you're looking for a place to unwind, a date, or just treat yourself to a night of great service and even better cocktails, The Boardroom delivers. And if you're lucky enough to be served by Adam, you're in for a five-star experience.

The people were laughing, the drinks were flowing. It smelled really good, which we would later find out was from the food especially that Mac and cheese. We started off with different wines, some that Tom recommended based on what we told him we didn't like or did like. He apologized for our previous experience and was genuinely a nice guy. Honestly it's very admirable for a business owner to take feedback to heart and want to incorporate it. Plus he's a really cool guy when you get to know him. The staff was busy running around but still made time to come check on us. Our final verdict is we came on a bad day. This time we got the actual Waystone experience. We finally got to try the chicken bites with a creamy aioli, fries with yogurt sauce, and the star of the show was the Mac and cheese. Tik tok did live up to the hype and we will have to come back for one of their jazz nights. Be warned this place gets busy! But it's worth it.

Yes, the bites hit (shoutout to the watermelon salad). But what really makes Waystone magic is the people. Everyone who works here is warm, funny, and present in a way that makes you feel like you belong, whether it's your first visit or your 50th. Live jazz nights here are their own kind of therapy. I once saw a harpist who made me feel like I was floating inside the music. No cover, no pressure, just ridiculously good musicians making the whole place glow. One thing I love: the rotating local art. The walls change every so often as new artists take over, and it completely shifts the energy of the space. You might not love every piece, but that's kind of the point--it's alive, it's personal, and it's supporting real artists in SF. And if you do love something, you can take it home (yep, everything's for sale). Whether you're here for the jazz, the wine, the art, or the people.. waystone shows up with soul. I'd give it six stars if I could.

Get it with guacamole, which they fold into the quesadilla. The drinks are good, and reasonably priced, especially for SF. Good selection of beers. I think we shared a quesadilla. I love it when places serve food late at night. The rest of the food menu looked great with several items I'm looking forward to trying. More places need to serve food late at night. We originally thought this was our first time here but soon realized we have been here before multiple times. Prolly other late night stays in SF from when we were here daily. Prior to oir leaving the the bar got busy and multiple tables were filled. The really late night crowd had arrived, in mass. Nice to see after greasy newsom pretty much single handedly devastated the restaurant/bar scene in SF and elsewhere with his illegal draconian policies for a flu like illness that we all now know was delibrate on so many levels. But that's a different story for another time. Great to see this place survived. Like I said we've been here before but have only recalled it once we are in. No more. We talk about this place often and is on our radar to come back again and again.
