I DREAM OF THIS PLACE SINCE EATING HERE A MONTH AGO. They had sooooo many delicious sounding options on their menu that I had a very hard time deciding what to order. I ended up having a salad which was, quite possibly, the best salad I have ever eaten. It had burrata cheese and mandarin oranges and some nuts and I cant remember what else but I was actually sad when I ate the last piece of lettuce. My daughters both LOVED Their lunches and everyone around us was raving about their food as well. The server was just the nicest guy and answered our questions in a kind way. I wish they had a Red Bird Cafe in my town, because I would love to eat my way through their menu. It is so good that next time I am traveling on i-90 I will make a special stop in for lunch in Roslyn (about 15 min off freeway but so so so worth it). Fresh, quality, plentiful ingredients used in a way to make your taste buds sing. I AM A FAN! read more

Was visiting the Suncadia area and looking to check out the scene for some delicious food - The Red Bird Cafe popped up as an interesting option to try some local food! So we decided to swing by on a Saturday around noon for quick lunch stop. The Red Bird Cafe is located in the downtown area of Roslyn, and it may be busy and difficult to find parking in the area if you are visiting midday. Parking is situated along the streets of Roslyn and there is additional slots near the trailhead down the street from where the restaurant is located. There wasn't too many customers during the time we went, but service is fast - we were able to get our food about 10 minutes after we ordered. The ambiance of the restaurant is quaint - with tightly spaced tables arranged throughout the restaurant, and you can choose wherever you'd like to sit. I ordered the Classic Monte Cristo, as I haven't tried this sandwich before, and this sandwich, though looking not too large, was actually really filling! The cheese and ham/turkey were layered between I think three slices of bread - giving a pleasing tiered texture. The bread was fluffy and had a nice spongy texture as you chewed it. Though I wished I could have got more of the jam - it had a refreshing sweetness that you could interchange between the richness of the sandwich. In the end, I spent about $13 for this sandwich, and I thought this was a good deal given how much it fills you up! The menu had many interesting looking options, and I would definitely like to revisit The Red Bird Cafe again if I'm ever in the Suncadia area! read more

Without a doubt, hands down, absolutely the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had. Usually places only have the gravy right or the biscuit right. But Red Bird Cafe has the best biscuits AND gravy. You must try it out for yourself. My group also had the eggs bennedict which was delicious, along with the breakfast sandwich. The When Pigs Fly nest stacker is absolutely delicious as well. I love this spot and it's the perfect neighborhood breakfast spot. You should also try out their lunch, their sandwiches are also delicious! read more

Richie and the crew at the Red Bird Cafe are class! They do their best to treat everyone with with respect, and yet when u are a local it is clear they are very glad u are there. We have often been to restaurants in Cle Elum and Roslyn and been treated like we were not really welcome because the crocus was on the more affluent out of town, tourist folks! Today, even though they were very busy, Richie took the time to ask me my name! He joked with me that I have a great name! We had not been to the Red Bird for a while, due to many things. However, we have always loved their food and the atmosphere. We were very glad we decided to visit there today! Check em out when u get the chance! The fresh made to order food is well worth the wait, and the fresh squeezed orange juice is out of this world yummy! read more

A hidden gem. Skip the famous place in town in favor of this little charmer. Friendly owners, vintage hippie vibe (Patchouly soap in restroom!) with vintage chrome kitchen tables indoors, and sweet outdoor garden area. I had the Tuna Croissantwich with orange Fanta. Just perfect. Like others have said, they are a little operation-- so cut them some slack if it's busy. read more

Was in town for a birthday weekend and we initially head to Logan's for brunch but we got there late and didn't make it for brunch :( so we decided to take a walk and found this little gem not too far away! EVERYTHING about this shop is great! Staffs are super friendly, food is amazing, prices are fair, lavender lemonade is out of this world and outdoor seating is really cute to enjoy brunch on a Sunday morning. The best thing is that they have their in house vegan cheese and have their own non-dairy and vegan grill! 5 stars and beyond!! read more

Stopped here for brunch/lunch on a gray day in June on our way to Chelan. Were able to get a table right away and order. Food took a little time to come out of the kitchen but the restaurant was pretty full. Awkward little side room for dining but adorable bathroom, even with baby changing supplies, which we used. Food was good but we would probably order something different next time. We tried the sweet potato pastrami hash which said it came with vegetables but the only vegetable I saw was onion (and I even asked the served what veggies came with this), the monte cristo, and the kids french toast sticks, that my daughter ate all of. I saw some other sandwiches and salads go out of the kitchen and had order envy for sure. Service staff were okay but not particularly friendly on this one day, which I am going to suspect was a one off. read more

We used to come here every time we come to Suncadia, their food is very reasonably priced and most of the items are pretty good! However it takes FOREVER, minimum 45 minutes so if you're hungry go somewhere else OR order ahead! On a farmers market Sunday we waited over an hour and a half for our food and they were very very rude (likely bc they were stressed and busy). Also the guy who works here is very nice but the lady at the front always has an attitude. Definitely not the best service but due to such limited breakfast options in the area we usually still come. read more

Got the weirdest thing on the menu and I wouldn't have it any other way. Poached eggs in veggies with anchovies and garlic over polenta, so good! Can't go wrong on the menu. Thank you Red Bird!! read more

My husband and I shared the cuckoo because it was a lot of food. Let me start by saying this is some of the most delicious bread I've ever tasted. I only wish it was toasted just a little bit more. This is such a unique meal unlike anything I've ever had and it did not disappoint. I'll definitely be back to try the other birds nest stackers. It would be cool if they did a "build your own" nest stacker. read more

Real Yelp review. Questionable operation of business ~ we entered inside asking for an outdoor table. She responded that we can seat ourselves but need to order and pay first. We did not think anything of it and obliged. A table next to us was finished with their meal and asked for their check. They obviously paid outside after they finished dining. Hmm. Other customers came off the street after us and sat right down. They were served water with menus. They did not have to pay first. We asked for water but never served. Hmmm. Ordered some $5 juice that came half full in a small jar. The price was bad enough for a dollar per ounce but why serve only half full to make the experience worse Hmmmm. Our sandwiches came in baskets you see in a fish fast food shop. We began eating and observed the other customers sandwiches came with chips. When asking if chips came with the sandwiches, the waitress responded, "Oh yes." I then asked what they offered and said, "You can choose what you want inside." And walked away. Hmmmmm. $40 for 2 tasteless sandwiches and two 2oz. bags of chips. Did not finish the sandwiches and ate at the farmers market. Again, real review. read more

It's l so so good! Get a jam pot from the pasty selection for sure, if they have one. The food is all delicious, you can't go wrong. The service is friendly and kind. I was shocked to hear the price when I paid. Menu prices I got $32 worth of food. Which was average. The potatoe hash was a bit crunchy for my liking. But when I went to pay, I was told $62! I asked if the drink my wife had (a caned soda from their fridge) was $30. I was not given a receipt to show the cost breakdown, which sketched me out even more. This whole town is like this, though. This restaurant is the one that got us the worst, though. Every restaurant will add 4-20 percent to a bill and say it's for using a card. This was hilarious because I didn't use my card at a single place. And they always refused to remove the card charge. Then, many of them will add up to 20 percent for a forced tip. Idk if that's what happened here because I was refused a receipt, but I'm sure their doing the same thing as every other restaurant in this area. read more

OMG!! The best, hands down pastrami sandwich I've ever had... and I've had plenty. House made pastrami with caramelized onions and a house made horseradish mustard, on a hoagie bun... just too yummy!! And so huge!! I came in after a great hike in the cold and snow, starving, and I ended up taking half home.. darn! lol And the house made tomato basil soup, full of chunks of tomato and pieces of basil, hot n oh so good! Hot soup, hot pastrami sando, cold day = delicious! Service was great, tried one of the local breweries, and ended up walking there afterwards. Roselyn is a great little town with lots to offer, starting off your visit with breakfast or lunch at the RedBird is a great start for a tour of the city. Also, they have lots of house baked cookies, pies, and other yummy baked goods, I opted for the cinnamon roll w/ cranberries, looking forward to having it with coffee in the morning. Definitely returning. Yelping on, God bless and cheers! read more

What a cute and unassuming place! The waitress was extremely welcoming when we walked in. She was attentive and friendly during our meal. And the meal was soooo good. The biscuits and gravy were delicious. We ate the entire bowl, and then my son ate the last biscuit crumbs lol. I had The Cuckoo which is a breakfast sandwich and it was so tasty. The portion was generous so I wasn't quite able to finish it all. The coffee was good (they make their own holiday blend and sell it), so we bought a bag to go. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. I would definitely go there again. The waitress mentioned they have great sub sandwiches for lunch, so we might come back to try those! read more

The food was good but the service was lacking. We stopped in yesterday at 11:30 am. Red Bird has a nice outdoor patio, and since we had 2 pups with us, I made sure they were dog friendly before grabbing a table outside. We got handed menus and brought water, the server asked if we were ready to order when she brought out the waters. We were not, so she said she would come back. Then it took a while for her to come back, but she did eventually take our orders. Then we waited... and waited... and waited.... No one checked up on us after they took the orders. No one refilled our waters again until they brought our food out. Which we got sat at 11:30 am, our food was served to us at 12:45 pm. No one told us why it was taking so long. But 2 ladies got sat next to us around 12:30 pm and they were told, "Ppl are getting a lil urked because food is taking about an hour to serve btw".... I mean, it would have been nice if someone came by our table to tell us that. We ordered: - solo biscuit and gravy with eggs over easy and bacon - monte cristo - stuffed breakfast sandwich My biscuits and gravy were just ok, I found the biscuit to be kinda hard. The gravy flavor was good. I had a bite of the monte cristo, that was good. Wish I had gotten that! I love the salty and sweet aspect of that sandwich with the ham and the jam. My friend seemed to enjoy her stuffed sandwich. Really wish we had better service... read more

The food was great. But the service wasn't so great. The food took almost 45 minutes just to make it to our table. All I got was a sandwich that prob took like 10 minutes to make but somehow they took their sweet time and made us wait almost a whole Hour. Don't get me wrong. Food was bussin fr. But just the wait time is crazy long. No idea what they doing in the kitchen that makes them take so long to get done. read more

Stopped by on our way out of town, and as usual breakfast was amazing. He had the biscuits and gravy; tender, buttery biscuits, flavorful, sausage filled gravy. I had the vegie breakfast sammie; 2 scrambled eggs, pepperjack cheese, avocado, tomato & sauteed spinach with onion on whole wheat toast. YUMMY! The place was busy, and like so many places these days, short staffed. The guy up front was seating guests, taking orders for dine-in & takeout, running the cash register and making coffee drinks, but was able to welcome & make eye contact with everyone who walked thru the door. Rich is a gem. There were only 3 other staff members, but as busy as it was, they were able to get our meals out quickly, and also very congenial. Always a pleasure! read more

I was so excited to try this place as I had heard decent things and was quite hungry. Brought a couple of my friends for brunch and everyone ended up being very disappointed with their food and pretty much everything. The menu looked and sounded so good, the front of house staff really got us amped about it as well. I ordered biscuits and gravy, when it came out it was cold and the gravy was starting to separate. There was extremely large pieces of fat, bigger than the pieces of sausage in their "freshly made" gravy. The building and outside seating could use some TLC as well. We left about half of our food per person sadly. read more

Cute, slightly grundgy cafe. They do have outdoor seating as well as indoors. They charged a "Garden" fee of 0.50 and it should of been mentioned to me. I find that odd. lovely lunch stop before continuing eastward. the patio was perfect for al fresco dining during our visit. we were informed almost immediately they were out of a few things and they were understaffed. so the wait we had for our food was a given. it's the norm now it seems when dining out. the menu was filled with intriguing all day breakfast options and filled out with many hand held sandwich style items. options of chips, fresh fruit, or fruit cup come with. we chose one from breakfast and one from lunch. my choice of a Monte Cristo-which I realized i had not enjoyed in years-was absolutely delicious. i came to the realization that these are basically French Toast made into a savory sandwich. this one was made perfectly with ham, turkey, and two cheeses. came with a delicious (homemade?) Marionberry jam. Loved it. the other choice today was a Dill Tuna sandwich. listed as being on a croissant but served on regular bread due to shortages. the tuna salad was made in such a way as to not be overly wet. held together just right. the dill, celery, and red onion added zest to the flavor profile. it was thoroughly devoured and enjoyed. excellent. if you are in the area this is a wonderful spot and if you are able to take the time, totally worth enjoying. read more
