My bias aside though, Im a firm believer there are few parks in the country that are as good as this one. To start, its HUGE! I don't think I've really ever seen the whole thing. There are rolling fields of grass, an "arboretum" which is like taking a walk in the mountains, a lake, playgrounds, a museum, gardens, a dog park, and idk what else. It's so beautiful wherever you go, and you can easily sink a day into exploring here.

It was an easy course for an able bodied participant, but if you have balance issues, there are lots of rocks and sand to maneuver around. Beautiful natural scenery and lots of people out on a Friday early evening. Be aware of your surroundings. You could be in the path of the disc or interrupting players trying to move through the holes. Great opportunity to include the whole family in an outdoor event!

I think they dId a great job of blending the course into the natural landscape. Carson Ridge has a total of 27 holes. The Pony Express course is a nice beginners nine hole course. The Stadium course is a beautiful 18 hole course. There is also a nice little practice area. Overall I think the Carson Ridge disc course is a great addition to the outdoor activities, open spaces and natural parks in the Carson City area!

The Donner Ski Ranch Disc Golf Course is an 18 hole public disc golf course located next to the…read moreDonner Ski Ranch. I recently came here on a date with someone who is into disc golf. We parked in the ski ranch parking lot for free, and then I believe we signed some waivers at the nearby Old 40 Bar and Grill. From there, the disc golf course is just up the hill on the other side of the parking lot. What I loved most about this course was that walking around it felt so much like hiking on the Pacific Crest Trail in Donner, which makes sense, since that's only a few miles away. The holes were nestled up in groves of tall trees. We had plenty of privacy, since there was only one other couple playing the course at the same time as us. On our way around the course, we saw two alpine lakes, and walked right by the tops of the ski lifts. The views were unbeatable. This was my first time playing disc golf, and I wasn't great at it, but I still had a good time. Honestly, throwing a frisbee into a basket isn't as appealing to me as going hiking is, anyway. There were plenty of signs directing us where to go, and we had an easy way finding our way around the course. Overall, this is a moderately challenging course with spectacular scenery.

Super affordable ($10 per person per…read morenight), spigots and porto potties throughout the campground, and really awesome disc golf course! The owners are incredibly nice and helpful with any issues or concerns. We were lucky enough to get to hang out with the two dogs who live on the property as well. They're sweet and adorable! Definitely make sure to follow the website's directions there and back, though. We got lost when we didn't. We will definitely be back!

This is a frisbee golf course about an hour from Tahoe, and it's fantastic!…read more Located in the middle of nowhere at the end of a few miles of dirt road, you'll find this beautiful course carved out on a high hill. The Toneys built the whole 18 hole course up themselves in the last few years on their property, and the whole thing is irrigated with well water pumped by solar power. Most of the course is flat, while there are about four "bowl holes" that take you down and out of a valley, including one with a 250 ft. drop. Fortunately there's not too much brush, so you'll probably be able to find your disc when it goes astray. Camping here was great too. The plots are spread out, and it's not crowded. You can rent one of their spacious teepees for $30, and swim in their kind of icky yet refreshing pool with the frogs and water skippers. The Toneys were great hosts, and went golfing with us.

Came here to play pickle ball last week and had a great time. They have two courts and lights on…read morethe courts which is a huge plus! The bathroom is pretty clean as well. This week though 4/2/26 , they didn't have lights on the court cause some crackhead took out the copper wires. When it gets fixed I'd love to come back to play pickle ball again.
