Did a quick family friendly hike to the Kings Canyon Waterfall (.3 miles) and then the North King's Loop (1.8 miles). Waterfall hike is short and a well-groomed trail makes for a great family friendly stroll for all ages. Falls are really flowing right now with a lot of shade trees. North King's Loop. 1.8 miles loop with about a 450' elevation gain for about .9 miles. Trails are well-groomed (kudos to City of Carson and volunteers). For most of the loop, the trail is narrow to a shoulder width with a hill on one side and a slope off on the other. My hike is late March, early spring, so still signs of snow and ice hazards on parts of the shade sections of the trail. Overall, a great hike in the City of Carson.

The fairways and greens are perfectly manicured and cut, however an extremely tough rough condition awaits you- Should you miss the fairway even a couple of inches. There is no buffer from the fairway to the Rough! it immediately transitions to 4 to 6 inch thick and healthy grass. The ball literally disappears. The group I played with must've lost a few balls each-even though we knew the location where our ball ended up. I am a 12 handicap and had a tough time here. My drive were not all perfect today and I paid the price, even when my drive was to slightly rolled off the fairway. I will definitely play here again, but with a completely different strategy . I will simply take my lumps and punch the ball back into the fairway. Attempt to reach the green from this rough will end up poorly, except for very low handicappers and only the best ball striking golfers . Eagle Valley ... please reduce the 1st cut so the mediocre golfers like me. Can survive a golf round there!

We had 20 kids ranging in age from 8 - 10 and Mark our faciliator went above and beyond to make sure all the kids had a great experience. Wrangling 20 kids for four hours is a talent in and of itself, but to teach them life skills and problem solving techniques while participating in each challenge gave them a ALL STAR RATING in my book! We brought in pizza, snacks, and cookies for the birthday party and then Mark and Cannon took the kids after for four full hours of outdoor adventure. Even after our four hour window was done, Mark and Cannon said they would stay a little longer to help some of the kids climb higher on the ropes course. That is definitely going above and beyond! It's such a beautiful area and all the equipment is in great shape. They pay attention to all the safety guidelines and make sure everybody knows what the rules are before starting a new challenge. Safety is of utmost importance which as a Mom makes me so happy!
