This is a great spot to play a bocce ball if you have your own bocce ball set. I highly recommend this park if you're in the area.

There are a few picnic tables at the park. None of them have a gazebo to block the sun. There isn't a large grassy area to play sports on. The playground is fun and unique. The playground equipment is in good condition. There is soft padding underneath the playground. There are no swings at this park. There is a parking area to park in. Outside of the homeless people there is one other safety concern. There is a road which leads to the south end of the playground. I could easily see a car driving too fast on this road and ending up driving into the playground. I wouldn't recommend bringing your children to this park until the city kicks the homeless people out of it. Be safe out there. -Dadzone

I like that there is something to do at this park and there are handball counts and basketball courts for people to play and get exercise. What a great park with views to die for!…read more This was nowhere close to being on our radar, but thanks to Truckee Meadows Trails, we attended a group hike up here. This is part of Washoe County Parks. It is North of Reno and is easy to access off Sun Valley Boulevard. It is best known as a disc golf course and the day we were there there was a large group participating in a tournament. The trails meander around the hillsides with plenty of opportunities to overlook the spectacular views south towards Reno and east towards Sun Valley. Most of the trails are easy to moderate and are all dirt. Dogs are allowed on a leash. The trails are also open to bikes. This is not ADA accessible. There is parking at the trailhead and bathrooms are available. There is not a lot of shade on the trails and there are few signs other than for the disc golf. Definitely a spot worth exploring. The park is open from 8am-5pm daily.

There is not a playground. There is not a basketball court or tennis court. There is almost no shade at this park. Restrooms - At the library and at the other side of the park. I am sure they would open the ones at the Little League if they were playing (by permit only). Paved parking. Service - Self service. Wood chips are located underneath the playground. There is a covered eating area with a few picnic tables underneath. There is a baseball field. There is a large grassy area. In the fall there is often football practices here on this field. There is a tennis court at this park. There is a skate park at this park. The skate park appears to be a separate park, so I won't be reviewing it. But I will add a photo of the skate park. Pyramid is a very busy street. Cars tend to drive fast in this area. The playground is far from the busy road but the grassy area is not. There are plenty of good food and coffee options which you can easily walk to from Burgess Park. Have fun out there. - Dadzone

I have often visited this park for the playground and I believe I have been to the pool once or twice as a kid. My most recent visit was the first time I have ever walked the grounds of the mansion and I was so very impressed. I had no idea that there was another small playground near the mansion. I also did not know you could take a tour of the mansion. How cool! I love the historical signs all over the grounds and appreciate the county's effort in educating visitors and keeping the grounds so pristine. The pool, large playground, picnic areas, massive parking areas, historical significance, and wide open expanses are a few of the reasons you should totally go here! Enjoy the great outdoors!

There are places to fish and beautiful trails that are scenic and wind between the foothills of The Sierra Nevada Mountains. There was a fire a few years ago and it has been cleared up nicely. There are beautifully sculpted and painted benches that someone has created and donated here for future generations to see. What a kind gesture from a gifted artist! I will include a picture of one of these gorgeous pieces of artwork, a bench with sculpted birds and a nest with colorful eggs!
