Wee Fish & Chips

Great take on the'Ol English Pub with many excellent authentic dishes to choose from. They are famous for their Fish and Chips so I had this and it was delicious. Had a great selection of appetizers that were also fantastic. The Scottish Eggs were awesome. Our service was great and we had a large party of 18 people. The restaurant was busy and our drinks and food were served pretty quickly. The decor inside reminds you of sitting in an English or Scottish pub. We're definitely coming back again!

This is from a tiny bit ago, and from what I sent my friends. holy cow it's amazing. See Fish and chips. We had the Belhaven Beer Cheese, it was very tasty and delicious. We both got the Best Fish & Chips in the US regular size. The chips were tasty especially with the cheese from the appetizer. The fish was the tasty I've ever had. The coleslaw was shocking good. The servicer were super nice and kind, and was on top of everything. Also the vibe and atmosphere was amazing, it would be really neat to just sit there and relax with some friends for a few hours.

This place has the best fish and chips that I have had in the area. The service was great and my server kept my drink full, which is a big deal for me. Also enjoyed the fried pickles. I definitely recommend the Pub at Crestview Hills.

Cocktails! Kentucky Peach and Warsteiner Dunkel.

I have been to this pub twice and will go back again! Pretty cool pub and helpful bartenders that will explain what you are getting if you are trying something new. It definitely has an English or Scottish pub feel to it with the furniture and all the woodwork inside. There is plenty of parking as it is part of a larger strip mall. The bar is front and center as you enter. The hubby and I went and just had cocktails the first time and the bartender was able to answer questions about the beers he wanted to try out. I ordered the Kentucky Peach cocktail, it was Evan Williams Single Barrel Bourbon, Peach Purée, and sour mix. I liked the cocktail and it also had a candied peach ring in it :). This was just a quick stop for a cocktail and we had dinner plans elsewhere. The second stop I made was with a friend and I ordered a The Port Royal cocktail, A Mai Tai with a regal twist: Appleton Estate Reserve Rum, Barbancourt 4yr Rhum, Pierre Ferrand Orange Curacao, lime juice, simple syrup, orgeat syrup and I would order it again. My friend ordered a Bloody Mary cocktail and she said it was good as well. For my meal I ordered the chicken curry soup and found it very thin but it had good flavor. I also ordered the Cranberry Pecan salad and it was delicious. I love a good salad and this was definitely a good one, I would order it again. My friend ordered the wedge salad but it did not come as a wedge, it was a deconstructed wedge I guess. She expected a wedge salad but said it was fine. We decided to round out the meal with a literal round, I order The Bog which was a flight of scotch whisky. The flight had a 10yr and 2 different 12 year and I thoroughly enjoyed the differences in the three. Next time I go I will try a different flight for fun. My friend ordered a round of ryes. We will be back here to try more items on the menu.

The Pub At Crestview Hills is one of those places that we've talked about going to for years and just now got around to it. I actually have gone there twice now and am combining those 2 visits into 1 review. This place looks really fancy on the outside then you walk inside and it looks awesome as well. Everything is made to look like a British Pub complete with the employees wearing kilts which I think is really cool. The menu is full of classics from the UK. Their menu claims "The Best Fish And Chips In The US" so I definitely had to try that. It definitely lived up to the hype as that fish was crispy and just absolutely perfect. The tartar sauce was a great dip for it as well. The chips/fries were stellar as well. We also tried some Belhaven Beer Cheese which was really good too. It was served with warm pretzels and veggies to dip. On my other visit I tried their Buttermilk Fried Chicken which was served with smoked gouda mac and cheese and an accent salad. This was a good plate of food although not on the elite level of the fish and chips in my opinion. Also tried the Cheese "Bollocks" which were cheese cubes made of provolone and mozzarella and had marinara sauce for dipping. Very delicious appetizer as well. The service was outstanding both times and I can't understate how awesome the ambiance of this place is. I can't wait to come back and try some more authentic British dishes. Extremely high recommendation.

Best Fish & Chips in the U.S.

It was amazing, I was traveling for work and decided I wanted to try something different, called my daughter and told her to look at my location and find me somewhere "different" to eat. This was her suggestion, she and the restaurant did not disappoint! Love the "King's chair" and the traditional English pub atmosphere. Tracy was absolutely incredible!

Very cool British vibe at this location, inside and out. Server was super friendly and we ordered beer of course, from an extensive list. I had their specialty, "Fish and Chips," which was amazing. Everyone else loved their food. I'd be here a lot if I lived in town.

Boy was that overcooked. Had the fried chicken sandwich and both the breading and bacon were black. Worst chicken sandwich I have ever had I believe.

The atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a neighborhood taproom: casual, lively, and family-friendly. The bar is huge, with an impressive selection of draft beers (especially if you're an IPA fan), and they also have bourbon bottles available for purchase. We ordered burgers, and they were all really good. One bun seemed a little stale, but it didn't take away from the overall meal. The cheese curds were a standout: piping hot, crispy, and definitely worth ordering. The beef nachos, on the other hand, were a bit disappointing. They arrived cold and just didn't have the same wow factor as the rest of the food. My sweet potato fries were a little soggy, but I took the leftovers home and popped them in the air fryer the next day, and they turned out fantastic. Overall, I'd definitely go back. If you're looking for a laid-back spot with great burgers, a huge beer selection, and a menu that has something for just about everyone in the family, dog and kid friendly, 859 Taproom is a solid choice.

We could have just shared this platter for our lunch if we had known the amount of food that came with the dish. The portion sizes were large. It had two heaping mounds of hummus, ample warm pita bread triangles, thick cucumber slices, hardy carrot sticks and spicy pepperocinis all over a "bed" of kalamata olives. The presentation was beautiful and the taste was delectable. My sister had the "Rod & Reel" lunch special, which is a choice of soup/salad and 1/2 a sandwich with a side. Her salad was a meal all by itself. She ended up taking home part of the salad and all of the sandwich. I tried the Willow sandwich. It's a delectable mix of avocado , lettuce, tomato , smoked turkey and mayo on ciabatta bread with a side of blue tortilla chips. I too, took my sandwich home because I was full from sharing the hummus appetizer. Everything about this restaurant was appealing to me. The staff and service were friendly and accommodating. Because the restaurant originated in Montana, all of the pictures and decor reminded one of hard-working people on an expansive ranch with animals and surrounded by family and down-to-earth friends. I really enjoyed the lunch experience.

The interior is very cozy, it hardly felt like a blazing hot summer day in there, more like a nice cool fall. The food and drinks were excellent. Many of the cocktails have tea-inspired elements, which was a really excellent start to the meal (the old-fashioned especially). For food, we loved everything. The mushroom samosas were almost more like saag and delicious. The short rib curry and the burger were both delicious. We finished with the sticky toffee pudding and it couldn't have been better. We went on a Friday nite, a 7 pm reservation for two. The scotch egg app and one of the rotating cottage pies (?one w/ lamb?) were already sold out. It was busy, with most tables occupied. Lots of 'dates', it looked like. Marigold is in downtown / the Fountain District and walking distance to Via Vite and The Davidson. At Marigold, we tried the mango lasso (reserve) cocktail ($22) and honey blossom (shaken) ($15) cocktail. Great cocktails, but $$$. We shared the following: Cottage pot pie w/ ground beef Pachadi salad $16.95 Mushroom samosa, came with two, $16.95 Oysters Rockefeller, came with six, $23.95 Bone in short rib, came with two, $54.95 We loved the * pachadi salad - punchy, fresh flavors, * mushroom samosas - came with 2, outside pastry crust was light *Bone in short ribs - came with 2, meat was fall off the bone tender and flavored well w/ the vindaloo juice; a lot of fat, but its a short rib not a filet mignon; the dish came with a few potatoes (dont wast the last few millimeters of space in your tummy on the taters). * Cottage pie - it was good, but nothing special (I did learn cottage pie = ground beef, vs shepherd's pie = ground lamb) * Oysters Rockefeller, came with 6 - these were good, but nothing special. The restaurant is loud. We had a hard time conversing, sitting across from each other. Meatball Hoagie Soft Pretzel With Beer Cheese What Is It: The hoagie comes with meatballs, cheese, and lots of pizza sauce on Italian bread. They also include either plain or bbq potato chips (I got bbq). The pretzel comes with salt and a cup of beer cheese. Presentation: They served my hoagie open faced which improves the look of the dish but probably not your shirt. The pretzel looks like a pretzel. 6.5 out of 10 Taste: I'll start with the appetizer which was the soft pretzel. The pretzel was nice and soft and had lots of salt. The beer cheese had a very strong flavour which beer cheese should have. Perfect for this application. The hoagie as I mentioned was as messy as could be. They probably could have gone a little easier on the sauce but the sauce did have yood flavour. They certainly didn't skimp on the meatballs here either as they just bulge out of the sandwich. I do think the open faced serving of this sandwich helps it too. Just be ready to use the fork they give you with it. Definitely a tasty option.
