My boyfriend is a long time El Monte resident. He spoke highly of the Post from past experiences. The first time we tried it a couple years back, it was my favorite place. Over a span of 2 years, service and food has steadily declined. With no exaggeration, all orders we would place an hour ahead of time we're late, wrong or incomplete. Every couple of months we take a leap of faith, order our food extra early and try it again to be greatly disappointed. The second to last time we visited, the manager (John?) saw my frustration and inquired about the situation (food was going to take another 45 minutes after an hour wait). Typically a nice gesture to work with customers. However I was told "I'm sorry, but In all honesty we don't need your business". Nice. Today will be the last time we come. I placed an order at 5:30, to be ready at 6:30. Upon pick up, we were told it was would be another 20 minutes. All while a worker is wearing flip flops in the kitchen and bussing food. This place took a pizza of my heart. Cheeses crust, this place is good! I've always drove past this place and never noticed it. But my friend recommended so we went to try on a fri-YAY night. We ordered: Spicy BBQ wings, sweet and sour wings, pasta and build our own pizza. It was really good! The pizza was soft and crunchy. The wings were crunchy and had a good amount of meat and the pasta was delish! Had the perfect amount of cheese inside so it wasn't overpowering. Customer service was 10/10. She was so sweet even though I had a bunch of questions. There was a line behind me but she didn't rush me or anything. I will be back to try other things! Parking is kind of packed and small. They have a parking lot in the back and street parking. If you park in the parking lot, I recommend backing out your car to park so you can get out easily. It's very tight. read more

Outstanding or horrific, I won't waste our time reviewing average. At one of the places I find myself often, we are always looking for a place to get some good food delivered. We used to often use The Post a few years back, but they seemed to have some issues and we stopped using them for a few years. This past weekend we decided to give them another try since I had gone though some remodeling and we figured a revamp as well. We ordered 5 large pizzas to be delivered, 2 pepperoni, 1 pepperoni / jalapeño, 1 special, and 1 BBQ chicken. They arrived within a timely manner, and HOT HOT HOT!!! So hot, we were all surprised and really impressed. All the pizzas tasted great and I have to say as of recent, this is probably one of the best around. Not just in this area, but within a 10 mile radius at least. The sauce is tangy but not salty, the cheese is really good and you can tell it's not the cheap stuff like some of the other chains use. The crust is excellent as well! I asked for everything well done and they nailed it! I like the cheese when it gets browned, but not to the point that it dries out. I'm not an easy one to please when it comes to that, but they get top marks on that. The only issue we had was the BBQ Chicken pizza was obviously tipped at some point, so most of the cheese slid off to one side and left the other side bare. 100% of the cheese on 25% of the pizza. Luckily we caught it before the cheese stated to cool, so we just grabbed some forks and pulled it back over. It looked horrible, but tasted fantastic! Good sized chunks of chicken, not those little mysterious little balls of what might be chicken, but actual pieces of chicken. I'm not a BBQ Chicken pizza type of guy since I feel it's not really pizza, but more like a BBQ Chicken Flat Bread, but I have to say I'm sold on this one. I will be ordering it again, hopefully next time they don't tip it. Overall, I really like The Post. Definitely a couple notches above your chain pizza joints. I wish I had snapped some pics, but we were all starving and it was go time as soon as the pizza arrived. I ordered spaghetti and meat sauce through the Uber app. I already know Uber can't do anything about this so I'm coming straight to the source. The quality of taste in the sauce is horrendous. NO flavor whatsoever. No salt, no seasoning. It's so bland. It's way too tomatoey. And it's watery. I know you probably pride yourself in the pizza, but the flavor of the meat sauce NEEDS to be improved. Also I specifically said in my notes to the restaurant PLEASE DO NOT FORGET UTENSILS PARMESAN CHEESE AND CHILI FLAKES.. I get my order and NONE of that is in the bag. Not even napkins!! My 14 year old sister called to order food for the family while I was driving. The cashier that answered is the issue here. The cashier made her so nervous she didn't even order the rest of the food. When we show up and there's only 16 wings, she broke down crying to me saying the cashier was rude and rushing her. She said she didn't remember the flavor of the hot wing and instead of giving a suggestion, the cashier belittle her. She isn't a very social person but since my family and I have been coming here for 26 years, I trusted enough that there would be no issues. She is FIFTEEN. My little sister shouldn't be scared to call a restaurant. That cashier needs to change her demeanor toward people. Nostalgia and a craving for pizza brought me here, but I was delighted to have found that the pizza was just as good as my memory had lead me to believe. My fella suggested pizza and I was excited for some Lamp Post Pizza. They have recently changed their name to The Post Pizza, but not much else has changed. The interior is large and great for large groups, especially for groups with kids. They have games and video games as well as TVs all airing sports. You order at be counter, pick up your drinks and alcoholic beverages at the bar area and head to your table with a number when they bring the food out to you. We opted for a medium pepperoni and mushroom pizza and some drinks. The food came out quickly and we settled in for an indulgent meal. The pizza had a perfect texture. Not too doughy and not too thin, it had a perfect crispy outside and soft dough center. The dough also had a sweetness that complemented the sauce and toppings nicely. The pizza isn't fancy or gourmet, but perfect in its simplicity. Great prices and lots of items to choose from m, this is a great place for kids of all ages. read more

Placed an order on the phone for delivery to the office today--I like how they are willing to make deliveries to our office in Irwindale :) And the delivery guy was really nice about going all the way back to get me change for my $100, I felt terrible he had to do that, but I didn't have anything else :( Maybe they should have sent him with some change..but oh well, tipped extra for the inconvenience. They told us our pizzas would be ready in 45 minutes, I believe we got it delivered within 35 minutes, not bad. We ordered two large pizzas. First one with Sausage, Pepperoni and Mushroom--WHOA, really oily! Clearly visible all over the pizza but they definitely did not skimp out on toppings. It was covered with toppings! Second one came with Mushrooms, Bell Peppers and Garlic--YUM :) I love how their mushrooms are cooked really well and again, toppings galore! :) It was still kind of oily but not as oily as the first, the bottom of the crust was quite heavy and soggy, but it tasted so good I didn't care. The crust is crisp outside and inside was chewy and soft, I actually ate the crust(ususally toss it because its so hard and dry)! They are about $15 each for our large three topping pizzas. Local Pizza Place This location is just a decent place, the pizza prices are a tad overpriced considering the quality of the food. Its not worth what they are charging. I had the Large Pizza with Italian sausage, and I felt that the pizza was oily and was covered in cheese. Overly cheesed that the dough or the sausage didn't have a good balance. The location is run down, it has been here for years, since I was a child. You would think they should do some like renovation to make the environment a little more welcoming. read more

Local favorite pizza joint. Back in middle school and high school, this is the place we'd go for pizza parties or catered by Lamp Post. I remember the nights after basketball practice or an awesome win, our coach would treat us out. It was the best time because 1) we didn't have to pay for it and got fed 2) we were teens with high metabolisms and didn't need to worry about what we ate. Now, more than ten years later, we can't just stuff all the pizza, bread sticks, and sodas in our body. So, I've less frequent my visits here. But once in a long while, like this past visit, I order my favorite, the bread sticks. Comes with marinara and ranch dipping sauce. Extra will cost 25 cents each. I met up with my mom and her boyfriend at The Post Pizza tonight. I called them this afternoon to find out if the video games were working, for my 5 yr old, they said yes. Walked in, it was super dark and dirty looking. I was not even greeted when I walked in. Only 1 game was working, the claw game. I also took a peek at the front patio, just dirty and not touched for a long time. The east side of the dining area was closed off and the ordering area was closed off with extra pizza boxes on the floor. I recall going to this pizza place after a softball game when I was young, I was very disappointed the way the place looked and felt. Came here for dinner on Halloween because I have the groupon for a speciality pizza, an appetizer, and a pitcher of beer. First off, the place is small and seems like it's family-ran. You walk into the door and the first thing you do is order your meal on the spot. Then, you go an pick up your drink on the other side. Then, you find a spot to park and wait to get your GRUB ON! The first thing that came to our table was the chicken wings. We ordered the sauces on the side. By golly, the sauces were delish. I can't get enough of the hot sauce....sour and spicy. We then, patiently, waited for our pizza. IT CAME....Goodness gracious, it was huge! It's like an Extra Extra Large Pizza from Pizza Hut. You can't fathom how large it is and how incredibly awesome it tasted. The crust, which I rarely enjoy eating, was off the hook! Their pizza is cruncy and you know it's hand-tossed. Our Halloween night went even better than we expected. Three ladies, one pitcher of beer, and wings...it can't get any better than that. Oh WAIT!
