They didn't let me know they wouldn't able to make it to the scheduled appointment (I had to call them the day of) They did not diagnose what my pool needed and they did not follow up. I can't say enough about The Pool Store! They did a beautiful job on my salt water pool! They trained us on all of the procedures on running and maintaining the salt system. Everytime I call the store, all of my questions are answered as their employees are very knowledgeable. Pricing was a lot better than other quotes we had received. They just ordered my safety cover and when it comes in, they will close my pool for the winter. The Pool Store does it all! TERRIBLE experience. Multiple calls and emails went unanswered. We told them several times that we needed them to bring an air pillow to be inflated and installed and they did not, and now our winter cover will be ruined. They took apart our filter which had been sealed shut and now we will need to pay to have it repaired when it's time to have the pool reopened. TLDR; Customer service is much better than other reviews are reporting and a pump install went smoothly. I almost bypassed The Pool Store because of all the negative reviews. I sent my daughter out to get a few things and figured she would go to the other local store, but she went to The Pool Store. She said the people were really nice and helpful. She even went out again with a picture of a leak we had and was helped accordingly. When I decided to just replace my pump, I called around to see who could install one the quickest. I'll admit that I called these guys last... again because of all the negative reviews. Well, they were able to install the next day, so I booked them. The only negative part of the experience was I had to call them the day before to get our time frame, which was a bit annoying, aside from that... excellence. The two guys who came out were friendly, personable, and got our pump installed quickly. They even stayed to answer some pool care questions and give me some advice to get our pool clear. I was a loyal Seahorse customer for years until they closed down and did not look forward to using Leslie (I find them expensive and rude). I am so happy my daughter happened to stop in The Pool Store and look forward to using them in the future. Now, on the topic of the negative reviews, some are obviously disgruntled ex-employees, which is very immature as Yelp is for customers, not for employees. A few other reviews are ridiculous because if you OWN a pool, you should EDUCATE YOURSELF on how to TAKE CARE OF THAT POOL. RIP OFF ARTISTS I got a new liner form them and my bottom drain cover came off it took a week for them to come out and fix it, they said one side of the cover was stripped and would fix it next spring, well the cover came off again. We called them again it took them 3 days to come out told us we were still under warranty ok good. The crew came and fixed this time and left then came back 15 minutes later and said that we were not under warranty and charged us $125.00 for putting the cover back on and then threatened us if we did'nt pay they going to back and take the cover back off. BEWARE!!! Do not deal with this company!!! Complete and total incompetence! Toni will tell you everything you want to hear and than some just to get your money. We read all the reviews (mostly bad) and decided to go with her because most of the bad reviews were for her pool closings and openings. We were getting a new pool installed and for a significant amount of money. From the start it was nothing but miscommunication...the first guy we talked to at the store showed us pools (fiberglass), we picked a 12x23 with a 5' sun ledge that he explained to us was included in the 23'. The wife and I went home to measure out our yard, talk about our future plans for size of the pool we're getting and the size of the yard (grass) remaining after pool was installed. The 12x23 we decided was perfect. The cost of the pool with some of the extras we were doing was $50k. We went back to see Toni with a deposit, sign the contract. That's when Toni informed us that the actual size of the pool was 28'! 5' bigger than we had planned for and were sold! She told us the guy we spoke to was wrong and 12x28 with a 5' ledge was the size this particular pool comes in. That extra 5' was really taking away from our yard but we decided to go with it anyway. We also had a big shed right where the pool was to go, tight on funds i ask Toni to work with us and not charge us the $600 fee for moving the shed to which she agreed (after a lot of huffing and puffing). Finally the day of construction comes... her construction manager Pat comes out to mark out the area on Labor Day of all days and in slippers! Unaware that the shed was in the was of him marking out and that toni was moving it for free he was pretty upset... Pat and myself ended up moving and 10x10 shed from one side of my yard to the other with nothing more than brute strength and ignorance. We had to sign more papers after the mark out and that's where we noticed an extra fee if they hit water... we were assured verbally by Toni the day we signed that there would be no fee! Additional charge for hitting water was our only concern , we knew they're going to hit water, our house just about overlooks a waterway!! Pat called Toni and she said she never said that, and that they've done many pools in this area and never hit water... such a liar!! We knew right then and there that we were going to get put through the ringer. The next day they came to dig and guess what...yup, they hit water! I asked pat to give me a number on what we could be looking at for water control, he had no clue. Him and toni would go back on the forth on the phone for the better part of a half day, she would tell him what to say, he would reiterate it to me, I'd reply and he'd have to call her again, she would tell him, he'd tell me, I'd tell him, he'd tell her, sound ridiculous? Yup, it was. Not once did she call me (even after I've made numerous attempts to call her) she even makes it a point in her sales pitch that "she gives everyone her cell phone because she's always available" "I don't care if it's 10:00 at night, someone calls with a problem and I'm on the phone working it out" comforting right? Well it was 12 in the afternoon and me her and pat must have went back and forth a dozen times without getting anywhere. Never experienced anything like it. Here's the best part.... after all the craziness pat informs me that the pool that's coming is actually 31' long this is sounding unbelievable but i assure you it isn't.... 31'!!! I told pat that's way to big and not what we ordered, he told me "they no longer make the pool yo I told pat it's not my problem that they sold me a pool they no longer make, that's not the pool we ordered or agreed on. Pats reply- "take it or leave it". Great business and communication skills huh. I am a contractor, I have been for a long time. I would never in my life tell a customer "take it or leave it". That was the straw that broke this camels back. My wife was completely done with this whole situation the day the big dope came on Labor Day wearing slippers but they had our money and we were locked into a contract. After the take it or leave it I threw them off the job, they had to bring a dump truck full of dirt back to fill the hole in my yard and we had to get a lawyer involved to get our $8,000 deposit back that that animal Toni was trying to keep. The check finally came today (July 13th) which is much more then the "deposits will be refunded in 30 days" bullshit in their paperwork. I'll be waiting until the check clears to post this review because i know that sad excuse for a human being will cancel it. Negative stars,thee absolute worst company I've ever dealt with in my life.Communication is God awful,still waiting on an email back from the owner tony in sicklerville,from back in October. They closed my pool and didn't take the timer clips off,so the pool turned on at 10am after they closed it earlier in the am. So the new pump that I paid extra for them to install(because of the warranty ) ran for 8hrs dry! Long story short and a hundred calls from my end and emails from my end, they came out a month later and took the pump to the shop. Just called them this April to see about my pump,they couldn't find it and would call me back. No call back,I called the next day. They found it!!!!! You'd think the owner would have it installed and open the pool at a discounted price, if not for free. Nope,they installed it,and wanted to charge 250 to open lol. So who knows if the pump works,I'm sure they'll come right out if it doesn't . Oh and they didn't bring the right parts,so the one guy had to go get parts,leaves the tailgate down while driving,pool chemicals all over the road,a lady hit the buckets and cops ended up on scene. We wanted to install an inground pool and did much research on who to choose for installation. After hearing some horror stories of other companies and their installation and many many contractors that were at their home, we chose to go with The Pool Store! For starters, Toni the owner INSTANTLY made us feel comfortable in designing our pool and this was not about money or dollar amount. At one point she even told us we can always install things at a later date (heater and salt water) instead of us stressing out over budgets. She guided in the right direction and assured us the pool would be perfect. Well she was not lying because we truly could not be happier with our experience and outcome of our pool. Secondly, all of the contractors that came to our home worked for and with Toni/ The Pool Store and EVERYONE was on the same page during the entire process. The office called me multiple time to always inform me of the next process and steps to expect including who would be at our home and why. Communication is key for us and I couldn't boast more about it. The office sent us photos of pools so we could give it to our children for Christmas because this pool was a surprise. They worked with us every step of the way! All of my many questions were answered and my worries subsided because of the ladies in the office and Toni's reassurance that we will have an amazing summer of 2017! Horrible customer service. I made an appointment for a service repair. They never showed up on the scheduled day nor did they call. I called later that day and they said that they would call me back. No return phone call was received. I called back the following morning to see my appointment was going to be rescheduled. They placed me on hold for about 10 minutes and told me that a service tech was in my neighborhood and was going to stop by after that appointment. No one ever stopped by that day nor did they even call to advise that they were not going to show again. I would not recommend them to anyone read more

I went with this place to open my pool and its a huge huge regret. Please dont waste your time or hard earned money here. The WORST customer service I've ever encountered. I was blatantly called a liar on the phone and in person when I demanded my money back since they had not done what they were supposed to. They literally took my cover off of my pool and rolled it up with algae and leaves still on it and threw it in my shed. All of the water on my tarp went into the pool after the guys said it wouldnt. So I paid $213.99 for them to dump dirty water in my pool and roll up my dirty tarp. When I called about how unhappy I was, I was told there was nothing they would do and I would not get a refund. I was yelled at on the phone by the owner/manager Tony and told I was lying. They are so very unprofessional I am surprised they are still open. When my husband got home, he called and was told they were too busy to take his call. Really? So we made the trip to the store and told to my face again that I was lying. Then I was promised an hour long vacuuming and that was done today The guys were in and out within a half hour. Im just done. Please go somewhere else. I used the Pool Store last August to install my inground pool last summer 2018. From the very beginning, Toni, the owner was awesome. She went over the entire process, did not try to sell us on anything extra, and was upfront on what would we would be in for. The process went as planned and on schedule. Pat the Engineer was a true professional when he came out to mark out and answered all of our questions. Toni gave us her personal cell phone and snytime I did text her, she had an answer for me within the hour. From the permit process to the installation, all of the workers were on time and profesdional. I also used them to open and close my pool with no issues. I even emailed Toni about my opening and she got right back to me within a day. Not sure why people are so negative but Im sure you had nasty attitudes. I hate to give a bad review, but when you have to call a company everyday to remind them that they started working on opening your pool a week ago, it's unprofessional. We were constantly promised on the phone that someone would be out to do this or that the following day, and sure enough we were let down each day. They got increasingly more distant as soon as they had our credit card info. The complimentary pool cleaning can't clean the unproductive and unprofessional tastes in our mouths. Not sure what happened to this company . They went downhill really fast . Absolute inefficiency, lack of attention to detail and to their clients. Scheduled an opening . Came out to open pool, left safety fence on after requesting it be taken off several times. Threw the timer clamps into grass and I had to scout around to find them. Left no sight glass near pump and water was pouring out . Called them back to schedule a cleaning. Never showed. Called office...( different person each time ) and they had no record of it. Came out again to replace sight glass but not remove fence ( said it wasn't on schedule ..again ! ). Asked them to do it while there. Guys were nice enough to take care of it. Waiting another day for the re-scheduled cleaning....again no show. Again called office ( again another different person answering phone ) and again no record of cleaning scheduled. After being over charged, my equipment tossed around and/or missing, leaving leaks on pool pump area and many many missed appointments..I've had enough . Doesn't seem to be consistency in the office because you speak to someone new each time and there is no follow up to anything. read more

They are not customer friendly. It is the worst customer service I have experienced. After the sales call and payments you can't get them to call you back. They absolutely do not return phone calls. They do not show up when they say they will. Customer service is very poor. They only make excuses and broken promises. They get mad when you ask questions or want answers. If they had called and kept us informed about all the changes in the plan or schedule that would probably help with the frustrations but they did't. They just don't show up when they say they will. This didn't happen once but has happened 5 times. They screen calls and do not call back after leaving multiple messages. The Pool store closed my pool last fall in late October. Five days later the cover fell in the pool. My husband called them repeatedly to come out and fix the problem. They said they didn't have anyone available. Eventually, the pool froze and we couldn't do anything except watch our pool fill with debris and leaves. They should have returned our calls and offered a free opening or something. When we opened the pool this Spring, our pool was very dirty and the pipe was cracked and they never even plugged up my pool. Pool 101!! They were working on our pool and the motor broke. The weather was hot. They left our pool with a broken motor for over a week. After several days of calling and asking when someone would be out we had to call another company to come and fix our motor. A pool can't stay open and not work in hot weather. They called 10 days later and said someone was coming out. 10 days are you kidding me. I complained to managers/ the owners daughter and anyone I could get on the phone and that didn't get me anywhere but frustrated. Bottom line they don't care. Last summer 2013 I replaced the liner and switched from chlorine to a salt water pool. It took The Pool Store the entire summer to to it's best to complete the work and to this day June 2014 the job is still not completed. I had to use another pool store Leslie Pools to close my pool and open in in a timely fashion. When I went back begrudgingly to The Pool Store for maintenance issues under warranty they told me it wasn't covered now due to me having someone else open my pool. My pool still isn't finished! Some of the people working there are rude, they blame you and not themselves for any pool issue. I would not recommend them for anything related to my pool not even a bag of Shock. I was charged for a service that they told me would be included when I purchased my pool cover from them. We needed a new liner for our pool and we have used them for openings and closings so we just went to them. I told the guy we are having a barbecue in three weeks and he assured me that it was "plenty" of time. The lies and miscommunication start from the top and work their way down. They didn't come the day they were supposed to so they could pump the pool out. Fortunately, we had a commercial pump and did it ourselves. After they took out our liner they were coming back first thing next day. No show. The next day they finally came out around 3:00 and said we needed more extensive repair around the drain and they didn't have all the material. We will be back first thing Monday morning..No show. The next day..they show up around 3:00 again and say it needs more repair than they can do in a day and we will be back 8:00 sharp tomorrow morning...no show..no calls..next day no show. Finally yesterday they show up and put in the liner. Unfortunately, the pool will not be completely filled and probably the same temperature as ice cubes for our party. We had to cancel the party.
