This is a great little hidden gem. We just got back from Hawai'i last week and really wanted to get some Poké. This was a clean restaurant with great service. The employees were fast and the food was delicious. Highly recommend

For a Poke spot somewhat out of the way and in a very small strip, this place was pretty good! The restaurant itself was a very small shop, mostly meant for getting the food to-go so that's just what my friend and I did. They also have nice to-go condiments which is handy. After we waited about 10 minutes, our food came out. I got the Combo Sushi bowl, and my friend got the Big Maui. We both thought the food was very fresh and tasty. Our only issue with it was the portion sizes. For around $15 we got bowls the size of a small household bowl. I've found that getting Poke on campus, just a 15 minute drive away, can get you much more food. Overall, really enjoyed it, but feel like you can get better value elsewhere

Woah. Best poke in Illinois is here! Forget the rest. Best part: avocado is so important. No skimming on the avocado here. Poke was very tasty, fresh and cool. So thankful to find this place in my little town in the middle of the corn fields. Crab salad and tuna was so flavorful. I can't wait to try their Hawaiian plate, the short rib lunch is next on my list!

Big Kahuna bowl - with raw salmon and brown rice...a must try!

We were in town for a college soccer match and before heading back to St. Louis, needed food. The Poke Shack sounded healthy and good so we stopped in--and it didn't disappoint! This place is outstanding! The owner took our order and was super friendly and helpful with the menu. We both had the Big Kahuna - one with original raw tuna and one with raw salmon. They were absolutely delicious. Both bowls were filled generously filled with brown rice, krab salad, tuna/salmon, edamame, avocado, cabbage, carrots, masago and we had our choice of sauces. If this restaurant was in St. Louis area, we'd be eating here every week and likely multiple times a week. The interior is nicely decorated, Hawaiian vibe, but very limited seating- only a row of seats at a bar looking out the front window. For us this was completely fine, but you can tell they're not set up to have a lot of dine-in guests. We will be back next time we are in Champaign area!

Awesome food and good prices. I have been craving Poké since we got back from Hawaii a few months ago and this restaurant gave me my fix. The food was fresh and you get a lot. Would recommend to anyone that likes sushi! Will be coming back for sure.

Spicy tuna poke bowl with a little krab salad and avocado added ......yum!!

I lived in Hawaii for a couple of years and this place takes me back 100%. Excellent poke, delicious and fresh. Can't wait to try the lunch plates but the poke is too good to pass up. My go to is the spicy tuna, mixed with the fresh veg and the delicious sticky rice, its like being back with the plumaria and palm trees.

The restaurant is located at The Fields, just off Staley and Curtis roads. It is right around the corner from El Toro at The Fields. Hooray for finally getting more lunch options on the southwest side of Champaign-Urbana! There is a check off list for ordering a poke bowl. I opted for a regular bowl for $9.50 (king bowl is $10.75). My first choice was for the protein -- raw tuna and crab. For my base, I chose both brown rice and mixed greens. Next up: veggies. You can choose up to three without incurring additional costs. I selected red cabbage, cucumbers and seaweed salad. For my three toppings, I chose masago, jalapenos and fried onions. To finish the bowl off, I selected spicy mayo and added $1 to my cost to get today's special, a piece of tempura shrimp added. I took my bowl to go. There was soy sauce and wasabi available for eating in or take out. The owner/manager also gave me a small bowl of miso soup. The verdict: Excellent lunch! The miso was very good. I am generally not a huge fan of miso, but this was great! The ingredients in the bowl all appeared to be very fresh and were certainly tasty. Bravo! I definitely think that King Kuma is a winner and a great place to go for a reasonably priced healthy lunch.

The name itself is deceiving because they offer mostly Japanese types of items like bento boxes, udon, sushi, and what not. I was genuinely not impressed with their menu selection and was very sad to see their Korean items go. It's not as great as they used to be. To be honest, I'm shocked their still in business with how much their menu has changed. They have some decent deals for lunch combos, but other than that I don't know if it's worth going there. I'm sad to say but it's not a "Korean bowl." They need to change the name to J-Bowl to appropriately describe the current menu items they now offer.

Then you fill out a paper that lists all the ingredients. Easy and convenient. The medium sized bowls were way bigger than I expected and the fish was fresh with large portion sizes. Quality place. Hubby said "That's the freshest fish I had lately, we should bring that guy back with us to Peoria, except then he would start serving the crappy fish they got down there" Yeah...He's a little sushi jaded since our trip to Japan. I guess they serve other things besides poke here but I didn't really see another menu. The ambiance is pretty sterile with water as your only drinking option. However, it's a great place to grab a quick lunch or get take out.

Casual warm bowls for clean living. This lunch place has you covered when you want something hearty…read morebut not heavy. The bowls use simple ingredients for a mild but hearty meal. I ordered a power bowl, with the dressing on the side and added tofu. It was effectively a large bowl of black rice -- a meal unto itself -- topped with slightly chilled vegetables. The guacamole and slaw that came on it were crisp, and they mixed into the rice to give it a texture both smooth and crunchy. On the other hand the sweet potatoes, lentils, and tofu were cool and mushy, like they had been cooked the day before and just come out of the fridge. They warmed party in the rice. The flavors were mild, except for the dressing. I'm glad to have ordered it on the side because it overwhelmed everything else with vinegar. The ingredients generally seemed to be a couple days old. The green onions were dried out though firm, and the sourdough it came with was a bit stale. In the future, I will probably stick with the small bowl, which cuts down on the rice.

Asked staff multiple times about the order with different excuses, eventually being ignored. Food is decent - it's a great option to have in town, but never again with that level of service. Wasted my entire lunch hour waiting.
