I've been here many times since my first, and this place doesn't disappoint. I'm not a big connoisseur of sushi and don't prefer more 'fishy' flavors, but from what I've had at Sushi Man, I love their food and their rolls, and their fish (or at least their salmon, which I've had a lot of) is high quality. Service is pretty slow on weekends, but on weekdays it's a lot quicker, so on those packed days I'd recommend putting all of what you want into one order, since it will take a while to come out. The ambience is usually really nice and calm, but on weekends it does get pretty loud. I love this place so much. If you ever go, then you need to try one of their shrimp tempura rolls (my #1 on their menu). Their entrees are also pretty good. I love, love, LOVE their sweet tea, but everyone else I've went with has hated it, so take that with a grain of salt. Go ASAP! This place is awesome.

First time going & won't be the last! LOVED IT. The whole experience, everything about it was lovely. We had AYCE & I also had the salmon poke bowl. The sauce on bowl is sweet & the soy sauce was more mild, not quite so salty. Our server was Hari & he was very attentive & kind. Ordering on a tablet was a fun new experience & the inside of the restaurant was very clean & welcoming.

Fun environment and great food. We had a mix of entrees and sushi. 1 person at our table enjoyed the AYCE and stuffed himself with a wide variety. Each time he ordered it was 6 pieces, in the end we think he had 34 pieces! You gotta really come hungry! We had an order of Avocado Salad, Edamame, Chicken Katsu, Chicken Teriyaki, Tiger Roll, Salmon Lover combo and Strawberry and Mango Mochi Ice Cream.

I love their unlimited sushi it's so worth it go during lunch because it's 25 per person they recently had a health regulation though so I'd be careful with some of their fish because I had one of them and tasted old but the salmon and rolls are pretty safe

Ambiance: The interior is well decorated and the booths provide a lot of privacy. Service: The staff work quick and regularly come to take empty plates, refill water, and take more orders. Food: I got the all you can eat option which includes a variety of food from kitchen appetizers to sushi. For kitchen items I got the calamari, fried oysters, mussels, and sashimi salad which all came quickly. Never ran into an issue where an item we ordered did not show up. Everything that was supposed to be hot came hot and the sushi itself was very fresh. No fishy taste in any of the raw fish. Only complaint is there is a bit too much rice for each sushi. Overall, this is my favorite AYCE sushi spot in Champaign whenever I'm craving sushi.

I think this is the best all you can eat sushi in the CU area -- the raw fish tastes better than most sushi places in this area! The sushi pieces are pretty big, with lots of rice, so you'll fill up faster than you think. Honestly some of the apps are worth taking up stomach space (takoyaki + sashimi)! I don't recommend the tempura combo to take up space. They have accommodated for large groups (greater than 10). Restaurant is clean. Food comes out a lot slower than the other AYCE sushi places, so if you are wanting to order more, try to order a little bit before you finish the current place. Not everyone has to get AYCE -- half of our group just ordered a entrees for themselves.

AYCE sushi places usually have some combination of restrictions... whether it's rounds of ordering, or $ penalties for leftovers, or dish limits, or time limits. Sushi Man has the leftover penalty and the time limit (90 minutes). Sometimes that can be a little stressful if you don't plan ahead! I don't think they enforced the time limit for us that day, but it wasn't all that crowded. It has the traditional sushi, makis, and some crazy rolls. I know it's not efficient, but I like to get the sides as well. Depending on the scope of the kitchen dish, a little robot comes out and delivers the food to the table. The look of the Sushi Man is bright and woodsy and modern-ish. The pricing isn't cheap, but it's in line with AYCE sushi spots. The service is quick and friendly and pretty responsive. I wanted to give this a higher rating, but the flavors of both the sushi and the kitchen foods are all kind of... muted. I was hoping it would pop a little more, but perhaps I'm expecting too much for AYCE.

The phoenix roll is the best roll we tried. It had a nice mix of hot and cold in each bite. The other rolls we tried were good--I felt they could have used more differentiating flavors, but that was likely because we purposely ordered non-spicy options since we had our kids with us. I would have loved to try ALL the rolls--but there were so many options it would've been impossible with just 5 people sharing. We all got the all-you-can-eat option, which it seems is necessary if you're going to be sharing. This makes a lot of sense, though, because the all-you-can-eat is open to anything on the menu! Sushi rolls, hot dishes, bowl of noodles, dessert--it's all included. Drinks are the only thing that costs extra (just get a water and save your calories for the rest of the menu!). There is a 90-minute time limit, but that was not an issue at all since the service was so quick. Also, there's a robot(!!!) that brings the hot food to you. It plays a little song to let you know it's coming. Definitely adds to the unique experience.

All you can eat sushi for 90 minutes. Any leftover pieces are $1. No restrictions on the menu-- order away! Ample seating and parking is easy as it shares a lot with Target . Atmosphere is more like a Cajun crab shack but makes sense since it a former seafood place. Service is friendly. Lunch is 24.95 and dinner is 29.95. Drinks are separate. Everyone has to order ayce at the table if you want to do ayce and there is a reduced charge for kids 10 and under. You can also dine in a la carte. There are a few extra menu items at this location compared to the green st one. Wait for first round of ayce wasn't bad for a 6p Friday night seating and the place is spacious enough that it's very friendly for persons needing disability accommodations. However, it got busier soon after and our second order took a while (~25-30mins). To be fair, it was graduation weekend and Mother's Day weekend so maybe this isn't the norm. The waiter also apologize for the delay and said best time to come was lunch on weekdays for the fastest service. Sushi rolls are good. Nigiri is freshly made and the rice is still warm which reminded me (ever so slightly) of Sugarfish in SoCal. While the raw fish is definitely fresh, it's not the freshest so don't come expecting the highest of caliber. Meal was enjoyable and it's very good for the price. Deep fried rolls give some variety too. Good options for vegetarian sushi as well.

Coming from CA where I have eaten some of the freshest sushi....this place offers the same quality...far from the ocean. I went to dinner and got the AYCE and boy was I surprised. I've never seen the variety they offer anywhere. UsuUsually it's a handful of typical rolls and a couple special ones. They had way more than the "norm" and even had entree items. Completely blown away. I ate so much, I fell asleep at home at 830

    Godzilla roll.

All you can eat is a little expensive but there's no catch. You just keep ordering and they keep bringing you the most delicious sushi you can imagine. Very friendly and patient staff. Will definitely be coming back.

I was excited to hear that there would be a new AYCE sushi spot in Champaign. The inside looks nice, and the workers were very accommodating too, even having a little robot that brings dishes to tables. While I understand that AYCE sushi spots won't have the best quality of sushi, I was disappointed to see how much rice they put for each piece of nigiri. It was so packed with rice that I couldn't even taste the fish. The only plus side of my meal was that the rolls weren't too bad, and they actually have some decent appetizers (good miso soup and sashimi salad; takoyaki undercooked, fried shrimp shumai meh). If they are going to charge $25 for a lunch of copious amounts of rice, and $30 for dinner, I will probably not be going back.

Securing a reservation was easy, and the overall experience felt polished and well-run. We skipped appetizers after enjoying pre-dinner cocktails and light hors d'oeuvres elsewhere. I ordered the 7-oz center-cut filet mignon with red wine demi-glace, my father had the ribeye, and my mother chose the red wine BBQ chicken. While my filet arrived closer to medium than the medium-rare I requested (very little pink), the quality of the cut and presentation were excellent. Next time, I'd simply order it rare. The ribeye was well-received, and the Old Fashioned was commendable. Service throughout the evening was excellent--attentive without being intrusive. Hamilton Walker's is very much a traditional steakhouse, and while Champaign doesn't have the depth of competition you'd find in a city like Chicago, this restaurant is absolutely worth a visit when you keep the market size in mind. A strong, reliable option for a classic steakhouse dinner in central Illinois.

Upscale steakhouse that masquerades as a throwback to 1920s Chicago. You almost expect a server in…read morecostume as Al Capone to circulate among tables to playfully menace the patrons. To some the masquerade will come off as silly -- and not worth the added price -- but many seem to enjoy being swept up in the art deco interiors and old school dishes. The food is like the theme park version of a steak dinner. We ordered from the Restaurant Week menu: a pair of salads, and the beef tenderloin tails and Parmesan crust chicken as entrees. All of the flavors were cranked up to a level that would stand up against a steak. Both entrees came with mashed potatoes and green beans that were heavy on the garlic. It was hard to taste the underlying vegetables, with all of the seasoning. The preparation makes some sense if you think of a steak with demi-glace as the centerpiece, but they overpowered the chicken handily. The salad dressings were equally strong. In particular, the spinach salad had a dressing like sweet-and-sour sauce that was jelly-like with rendered bacon fat. The entrees themselves were competent but not remarkable. The tenderloin was cooked medium rare, and two thirds had a creamy interior with crisp char on the outside. The last third, however, was tough and required some sawing with the dull steak knife. The chicken had either brined or sat on the heater for too long. It had some juice left but was also tough. Perhaps the best item we ordered was the kids cheeseburger. Well-done with oversized steak fries on the side -- simple enough that you could taste both the ground beef and the potato. The food itself warrants three stars. And here is a tip: the local Costco sells gift cards to the restaurant with a 20% discount. Where a meal can easily run $50 here, knocking the tab down to $40 might be worth it for a special occasion. The service, however, knocks the review down by a star. The kitchen lost our ticket and, as a result, our party waited forty minutes following the salad for the first entree to arrive to the table, plus another fifteen for the second and third. The chef was very gracious and apologetic when he brought the final dishes out personally. However, the fact that his arrival was the first time the staff acknowledged a problem to us -- long after they had discovered the issue and begun addressing it -- suggests that there is a larger breakdown between the back and front of house. I had thought that a 6 pm reservation would get our family home early on a school night but I was quite mistaken. Probably they won't lose your ticket when you dine in, but I will think twice before getting back in line for the theme park ride.
