This was my first time seeing poke at Kung Fu tea! For a midwest establishment, their poke had pretty standard ingredients, nothing I hadn't seen before. I got their spicy tuna and salmon, and I liked how they gave decently sized pieces of fish. Unlike other places I've seen, rather than a scoop, the fish came in individual slices, which I think is more satisfying to eat. I really like the drinks here as well, and my go-to is the wintermelon tea with cheese foam. However, one thing about KFT is that their drinks are pretty sweet, even after lowering the sweetness to 50%. The prices for kft are pretty reasonable, given how much you're getting. I always get the Oolong Milk tea with Nata jelly(I hate it how I don't get nata jelly at a lot of places in Chicago, but I digress). Wow. Now this is a yummy place to visit. If you are in the mood for bubble tea and sushi look no more. I just had myself a honey milk tea with bubbles and a sushi burrito. And they are amazing. Especially the burrito. I swear I could eat here everyday. Be sure to check out their menu as they have a bunch of options for both drinks and food. I can't go into detail on all the options. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is due to their location and cost. The items are a bit pricey but it's fine for a bi-weekly treat. Also it's hard to find parking. The location is close to the heart of campus so it's easier to reach for student walking then those of us with cars. Overall I highly recommend if you are in the area. I've only had their boba tea here and not their food so I can only speak from their drinks. First of all, this location is fairly large and they have many tables to eat and chill. It can get really busy, especially during peak times, and you might not be able to social distance... during these pandemic days. The service is really fast. They have a lot of staff and make drinks really fast. Just remember they do add an extra fee for credit card purchases of less than $10 (I think $10) but it's always something they don't always mention. read more

I previously had a really good review of this place when it had just opened but my last couple visits have left a pretty negative impression. Since my first review I've had the following drinks: -Longan Tea -Kf Milk Tea -Yakult Grapefruit Tea And they were all beyond subpar. I had several subsequent visits because I thought the gross drinks were a fluke but I'm starting to see now that they likely are not. On my last visit, the Kung Fu Milk tea was so disgusting I felt extremely naseuous afterwards. I even requested that they remake it. I thought it might be an issue of sweetness but even after it was adjusted the drink was very sour and tasted a little like mildew. I wish they had the option of getting a different drink. I even had a friend try it and they almost spit it out because it was disgusting. Tip: there's a paper to fill out at the front with your poke bowl selection. Grab that when you enter and fill it out before approaching the counter. We didn't know that at first. If you order tea there are also a series of questions to answer. They will ask the amount of ice and sugar, for example. This is a great poke bowl option in Campustown. Simple checklist for what you want in it instead of being pressured to walk down a counter and choose as you go. I've been here a few times since moving down to Champaign. I was originally drawn to their drinks and ordered online through DoorDash and they didn't disappoint. Every time I've ordered, my order is ready or literally coming up when I come in. They do get quite busy so it's always surprising that my food is always ready. Through DoorDash, there's certain types of burritos to choose from but in the restaurant, you can customize it. First, I would like to say that I got super hyped when I saw that Kung Fu Tea was going to open a location in Champaign. Every time I go to Chinatown in Chicago, I would go to Kung Fu Tea (yes, over Joy Yee because I'm not a fan of the big bottom cups). Did it meet my expectations? Yes. I got the sushi burrito, which came with a side of miso soup. You have the option of picking two proteins, 3 veggies, up to 2 sauces, and some sort of topping (sesame seeds, tempura crumbs, etc.). The protein choices were tofu and an assortment of seafood. I got mine with spicy crab salad, tempura shrimp, cream cheese, avocado, asparagus, and wasabi mayo. At first, the burrito looked tiny, but it was actually incredibly filling. The seafood tasted fresh and the proportions of everything relative to each other was perfect. The wasabi mayo added a nice kick. My friend who was full after eating 3/4 of it kept on going and finished it all. She mustered the pain of overeating because it was that good. I didn't get anything to drink this time, but I took of my friend's honey tea, and it was super refreshing and had the perfect sweetness level. It didn't deviate from what I expect from Kung Fu Tea. My only complaint is that the entire process of getting the sushi burrito took a while, but I also went to their soft opening. I'm sure it'll improve as they figure things out. read more

I was initially excited to eat here, per the suggestion of someone who frequented the restaurant. However, when I began eating part of my order (fried calamary) I realized that it had been terribly overcooked. It took a better part of 3 minutes to chew a single bite. I walked back to the counter, showed them the food and expressed that it was overcooked. She told me that it was "because of the salt and pepper" and that it was always cooked like this. I asked for something else. She refused. Finally, after a little back and forth, she said that they would remake it, but it would be the same. With my back slightly turned, and as I began to walk away I saw her speak to one of her co-workers (in a language that I could not understand) and laugh. Every drink I have tried here has been delicious. They sell snack foods as well. The interior is nice, hip, and spacious. Great place to hang out with friends or study. They use quality ingredients in their beverages. There are great instructions on how to modify your beverage's ice and sugar level. Out of all Champaign's options, this is probably my favorite bubble tea spot. The one in Chicago is just as good. Just be ready to spend. When you add more to enhance the drink, it gets even more expensive. But there are so many creative additions that it is hard to resist adding some.
