Strawberry banana smoothie and shaken latte

Fantastic coffee and smoothies. Clean bathrooms and great location. Lots of space. Friendly staff :)

This was the first time that I've gone to the Mad Goat Champaign location. I am from Danville and Frequently go to Mad Goat North & South in Danville. I was in Champaign early and needed to kill some time and what better way to do that than Hang out at Mad Goat! I am a basic coffee dude and just drink regular coffee and it was very good as per usual. The staff were very friendly and it has an awesome over all vibe! I paid to park across the street and then realized they do have some of their own free parking so note to self for next time! that one was on me! I am spoiled in Danville because they also have their Royal Donut brand donuts but didn't have them at this location but I saw just yesterday that Royal Donut will soon be expanding to the Champaign Urbana area so I am only going to assume it's only a matter of time until they have them at this location. FYI the Blueberry cobbler donut is amazing!!! 2 thumbs up to MAD GOAT!

cute place to get some work done! i really loved my blackberry vanilla latte. the chai was decent too.

Honestly one of the cutest coffee shops I've ever been to! Katie helped me out so much I had no idea what coffee to get but she explained the history of cappuccinos to me and let me taste syrup with no hesitation and just made my day. The best part is they have these you can come sit here if you want me things you can put on your table if you're open to making a friend! So cute.

This place was nice. The coffee was okay. The matcha latte with raspberry and cherry syrup was delicious. It was peaceful and easy to get work done here. Staff was a little standoffish. They didn't call our names when our drinks were ready, so they sat on the counter for a few minutes before I went over to check if they were ours. Staff began mopping and cleaning an hour and a half earlier than closing time, it felt like they wanted us to leave even though they were still open for a good while. Overall it was nice, but I would probably go somewhere else next time to avoid awkward staff.

I really wanted to like this coffee shop. I like Mad Goat bagged coffee. However, I don't know if I just went on a bad day or what happened. The shop is in a cool location with an okay feel inside. It's not warm but rather hard floors, loud noises, and an industrial feel. The coffee was ok but nothing special. I had to stir my own latte to mix the syrups. No whip as requested either. Between, the disgusting machines, unclean counters, not cleaning the puck between uses, pucks left on soiled surfaces, puck not being cleaned in between coffee types, milks and lettuce left out on the counters for over 15mins, the lazy employee talking with her friends for over 15mins, dirty floors/tables, and uneventful service, I have no desire to go back to any of the locations. Ever. Too many other coffee shops

New favorite coffee shop in Champaign! Mad Goat Coffee has some of the best roasted coffee in the area. The place is very spacious and modern with a classic black and white interior. The place was very busy as it had just recently opened and was relatively new at the time. My only complaint is that their free wi-fi was a hit or miss back then, but I believe that the connection issues have been fixed recently. The workers are so kind, personable, and helpful with choosing which drink to get. They have so many different coffee roast varieties that you can choose from (as well as many hot tea options if you are a tea person). The first drink I ever got was a small iced hazelnut latte with oat milk which was strong yet subtle. I really appreciate how you can still taste the espresso without having the milk overpower the drink. Their sausage & cheese breakfast sandwich was warm, delicious, and decently priced. If you take your coffee seriously, this is the place for you!

The barista made me one of the best oat milk lattes I've had! I added their honey cinnamon syrup and it's absolutely delicious.

I've made stuff with okara before and like the particular flavor and texture-- it feels drier and denser because of the soy pulp, but it's something I like. I also like how not too sweet everything is. Their miso salted caramel tart was also good, I also like that they sell day-old stuff with half price. I can get behind the concept and the intention behind how this bakery is ran. Very excited to have discovered this on our trip to visit uiuc. Would've loved to try their sencha, hojicha, and genmaicha next time!

However, a few weeks ago, (6/6/26) I had a disappointing experience with a staff member there while picking up an online cake order. On the day of cake pick up, I was done with errands at around 10am, I called the bakery to ask if it was possible to pickup the cake early. The girl on the phone sounded very annoyed with my request (I was just asking, they could have said no) and told me they don't do pickups until noon but I can still come in. So I get there and she immediately starts treating me like I was a huge inconvenience. As she's handing me the cake, she pulls out a receipt and started scolding me that pickups don't start until noon and it's right there on the website. I showed her my email receipt confirming 10:30am pickup and how there's literally two different sections with different times on their website so i was obviously confused. but she ignored my explanation and continued chastising me for the misunderstanding of the pickup times. I just let it go as I didn't want to argue but I left feeling very upset. I think management/owners dropped the ball on training staff on how handle these types of situations with professionalism and not immediately placing blame on the customer. I tried my best to smile and be friendly to her but she was starting to become defensive. There was no accountability for the user interface of their website. She made sure to make it known that it was my mistake alone. I have not decided whether I will continue to support this establishment but I won't be back for awhile.

Drinks and food themselves are very interesting and well made. Not in a "this is amazing", but it was good. My group and I enjoyed everything that we ordered, so the drinks and food were probably designed to please as many people as possible. The variety in their menu is interesting and I'm surprised they were willing maintain their diverse selections. The location is more in a hole-in-a-wall spot. Parking is a pain, but it's in a walking neighborhood amidst a bunch of stores and restaurants. It's a nice place to pop by for a quick drink or dessert after a huge dinner or for a walking break. The biggest concern I had with the place is that it's really not designed for people to stick around. Very few seats or uncomfortable standing areas. It's got this industrial layout where you go in, order digitally, get your food and get out.

Upon arrival, I checked out the menu and saw a lot of wonderful variety of items that I wanted to try; however, I only had room for one thing. While scoping out the menu, my eyes fell on their soft-serve flavors. They not only had chocolate and vanilla flavors but also, hojicha, matcha, and ube. Plus, you could get them in a swirl or just as two flavors in a dish. I immediately decided that I wanted the Hojicha and Ube pairing. My son got the Matcha and Ube combo. Both were good. I liked all the flavors. Hojicha was my favorite, followed by Matcha, and then Ube. Each of these ice cream had rich flavor and the texture was smooth.
