Grasshopper cold brew and croissant
Zohra H.

The grasshopper cold brew was actually one of the best coffees I've ever had. It was the perfect combination of coffee and chocolate flavor and gave me enough caffeine to lock in but didn't give me the coffee shakes. The croissant was okay, it was a little dry but I still ate it. The whole cafe is so aesthetic and has so many good study spots!

Cool refined coffee experience with attention to unique ingredients, well designed atmosphere, and decent prices. I love the ginger stuff on the menu tho the chai is quite weak and lacking the real depth of flavors and rich creamy texture quality chai has. Glad to see free parking after hours on the street and lots of space to unwind inside. Enjoy a fun/boring life? Follow me! instagram - lukeskywahlker

Warm coffee shop right by the university. Great place to work. I came in around 9am and there were plenty of tables to work at.

One of my favorite places to have coffee on campus. The place is very cozy and all the staff are very friendly. Please follow me on Instagram @tryatreat

The terrace is shaded and pleasant.

I used to come here as a grad student, way back in the day. I come here all the time, walking from west of Neil street, because of the ambiance of this shop, as well as the lattes, and the cold brew, which is very good. Plenty of seats and space, and overall a comfortable place to read and work. Most of the baristas are nice, although there is some attitude on display. I've never found any of the pastries to be stale and the chocolate and peanut butter brownies are addictive.

I love to try different coffee shop. So i try this espresso royal. Their coffee is good and the place is nice also. You can stay indoor or outdoor. Its kinda crowded but its not that bad.

I thought that the atmosphere was really nice. It's very crowded though. The coffee tasted fine, but I thought that it was too frothy.

I love the Wednesday 2.50 lattes! The workers are always friendly and I love the vibe in the East Lansing location.

Upon arrival, I checked out the menu and saw a lot of wonderful variety of items that I wanted to try; however, I only had room for one thing. While scoping out the menu, my eyes fell on their soft-serve flavors. They not only had chocolate and vanilla flavors but also, hojicha, matcha, and ube. Plus, you could get them in a swirl or just as two flavors in a dish. I immediately decided that I wanted the Hojicha and Ube pairing. My son got the Matcha and Ube combo. Both were good. I liked all the flavors. Hojicha was my favorite, followed by Matcha, and then Ube. Each of these ice cream had rich flavor and the texture was smooth. The pricing of the soft-serve was on the high side but the portion size was good. The Ice cream is made in-house including the Hojicha. The shop was busy. It was frequented by U of I students, it seemed. The service was good. I'd go back here if I were to be in Champaign again. Check it out.

Also, just these 2 things, they cost 20 dollars !!!! I'm sorry, maybe I would be nicer if your shit didn't cost 20 dollars for restaurant depot jello. Service was great, the employees were nice, and the cafe was pretty empty, so I'd come here to hang out with friends or study if the food was better.

Drinks and food themselves are very interesting and well made. Not in a "this is amazing", but it was good. My group and I enjoyed everything that we ordered, so the drinks and food were probably designed to please as many people as possible. The variety in their menu is interesting and I'm surprised they were willing maintain their diverse selections. The location is more in a hole-in-a-wall spot. Parking is a pain, but it's in a walking neighborhood amidst a bunch of stores and restaurants. It's a nice place to pop by for a quick drink or dessert after a huge dinner or for a walking break. The biggest concern I had with the place is that it's really not designed for people to stick around. Very few seats or uncomfortable standing areas. It's got this industrial layout where you go in, order digitally, get your food and get out.

For a weekend, there was no extremally long lines today due to many digital kiosk available to order. I just had a taste for a mango tea ($8) and splurge for toppings. The service was quick and friendly, the barista described the options available and had good recommendations! Good study space with WiFi, bathrooms, and a water fountain around the corner. Just be prepared to wear a jacket on either end of the cafe near the doors, can get windy upon opening! Thai Tea Caramel Canelé {5/5}: The best canelé I've ever had (okay, I admit, I've only had maybe 6 in my life). Great caramel and good Thai tea flavor. The texture was AMAZING with a nice slight crisp and chewy outside and almost custard-like inside. I got 2 more before I left Green Onion Kouign-Amann {4/5}: A caramel shell outside of this very flakey pastry that I had plenty of green onions mixed within the dough. It was a great play on sweet and salty flavors with delicious flakey layers Jade Cloud {3/5}: Peach oolong tea with matcha cold foam. Just a personal preference thing, but the flavor combination of peach, oolong, and matcha was not my favorite. I can see how someone who likes this flavor profile would find this drink refreshing!

We got a couple of croissants and a canele, and we each ordered an espresso drink. It was everything she promised - and more. The croissant was flaky and buttery. The canele had the signature caramelized exterior and soft inside. I intended to only have a bite and save the rest for later, but I couldn't resist finishing it. Would definitely come back on my next visit. In the meantime, I'll just have to ask my friend to bring pastries to me when she visits!
