So I travel all over and use yelp to find spots when in the road. I try to be honest because I'd want to know if I was deciding on a place. Big open space if you wanted to sit and hang but it's a boring space. Nothing cozy nor inviting. The guy behind the register (only employee) was less than welcoming- seemed bothered to take my order, he wasn't rude just wasn't interactive at all. I was the only person in there. I got the brown sugar latte- solid. Actually quite good. Also got a açaí bowl - mini is plenty big and I like to eat! I added PB to the triple berry. Bananas, blueberries and strawberries - not sure what the other berry is ha ha. Granola, corn flakes and honey. It was a standard bowl but the base wasn't frozen so I walked less than 1/2 block and it was soup already. I'd say there are too many other coffee shops in the area to give this another go. These bowls were bus! The regular size bowl is really big so i would recommend the small size unless u r starving. The prices for all of them are really good compared to other açaí places! The service is good, i used a kiosk so it was quick and easy! The toffee latte was so good it had such a nice flavor and doesn't hurt my tummy. Check up on your food as it's being prepared! I've had the most horrible experience getting takeout from this location. I ordered a hot sandwich to go and, since there was no free seating, waited at the counter for 20 minutes. When I saw the two girls chatting away, not busy by other orders, I asked about the progress on mine. They said they for sure made it and someone else took it. I was there at the counter the entire time and not a single sandwich passed through, but I let it slide. 30 minutes passed, I asked them about my sandwich again and they said it's a couple more minutes. At 40 minutes it turns out they weren't watching the sandwich and it burned. At 45 minutes, they gave it to me on the plate and argued I ordered it for here. After checking in the system they realised it was, in fact, a to-go order and proceeded to dump it in the bag without any wrapping whatsoever. As I opened the sandwich it was cold and obvious that the breads came from different sandwiches and were misaligned. The taste was average, but very hard to eat because of how it was put together. This was some of the worst service I ever received. If you are trying to go to Caffe Bene, choose the location in Urbana instead. The same sandwich there took less than 10 minutes to make and wrap so it stayed hot. read more

I went there many times this winter break, tried the açaí bowl, triple chocolate cake and some other desserts. Before I tried the açaí bowl, I searched on the internet and found it was highly recommended, but when I finally got it, it was not so amazing like the photo others took. For the triple chocolate cake, I do think the chocolate on the top might be too hard, and the middle layer was somewhat too soft, which made this cake not so balanced in taste in the whole. Caffe bene is the best study spot! One of my favorite things to order here is a black coffee with a combination of a sweet item; this allows me to concentrate and be the most productive!! I love their macarons, cakes and gelato the most. Hanging out at caffe bene is always a fun time too. Located on Green Street, this location is always bustling with people. There are lots of chairs and tables for students to sit in groups, study, or talk. The reason why I say students is because most of the customers that I've seen there are students. Service was quick and friendly. Their coffee is actually pretty good! I like their desserts as well.. especially their waffles. They also have a small section with Korean breads for sale. Don't expect it to be quiet in there at all. This was my go-to study place in undergrad during summers when everywhere else was closed. Lots of room for me to spread out all my study stuff on the table without feeling guilty and lots of outlets! People always told me they didn't like the milk tea here but I personally love it. Not extremely sweet and milky tasting so it checked my requirements lol. My only negative was the sul-bing that they added at this location. When I ordered it, I was expecting the same size as the bingsoo at the Goodwin location, but it was tiny as seen in the photo. It was still delicious, but $13 for this was a little much. Got it to share with a friend and we were both like wtf. Definitely prefer the bingsoo at the other location! read more

A friend highly recommended the Açaí Bowl, one of the most popular items on the menu. It definitely exceeded expectations and I wish I had another stomach to eat one more! The staff was friendly and approachable. I came new year's eve and needed to get change for the parking meter. The barista gave me some change but also informed me that he heard the customers say that parking was free for NYE. I'm not from Champaign so it was good to know I didn't have to pay extra for parking. The owner was also very friendly and came over to ask us if we needed anything else. After my last year not so good experience, I received a message from owner that they have thrown away all the chipped mugs and asked me to give it a try again. So, I took my husband on a coffee date. I ordered two cappuccinos, macaron, garlic bread/toast and a brownie. This time, I got nice looking mugs. Coffee tasted great and so did the macaron. I like bubble tea so I naturally gravitate to Caffe Bene for just that, their atmosphere, & desserts. The red bean bingsoo is enormous (especially if you get the large, it's as big as my face)! The strawberry honey bread is more than a loaf of bread with strawberries on top. Inside it's austere exterior, it's filled with some sort of delicious cheese. This isn't the cheapest place for a delicious treat but they are good treats. The bingsoo is $11.95 for a large. The honey bread is $7.95. The coffee is meh. This location has all the pizzaz that characterizes the franchise but it is often crowded and the traffic of Green Street just adds to that. Also, don't go when it's busy. They might blend trash into your drink (see photo). There were definitely pieces of inedible things that I was drinking & eventually found largre chunks of trash at the bottom. Ew. read more

I walked into the store at 20:30, December 19th. There was only one guy working at the counter. And when I tried to order some stuff, he was busy with the ordering screen and yelled at me "wait a second, could YOU WAIT A SECOND?" with a loud voice and angry face. A standby for the cold winter months/holidays. This place is a rock in that it's one of the ONLY consistently open places in town. Gotta hand it to them just for that. Only complaint, during the winter it gets somewhat chilly inside, but nothing too serious. Otherwise, great atmosphere (not too loud and not too quiet), decent food/drink selection, big open windows that look out to Green St., friendly staff, and plenty of good chairs/tables (with outlets) for studying. I been to this location several times and the desserts and coffee are far better than Starbucks. I really enjoyed their various ice creams, especially strawberry. The cafe mocha made by different baristas we're similarly excellent (a stronger coffee taste and the chocolate has a dark chocolate flavor), as opposed to the hit and miss that I am used to at Starbucks.
