The Podium Apartments have been a great place to live. Maintenance is prompt and efficient, and management is helpful. I've never had any issues that weren't promptly resolved during my time living there Ashley the manager has been a true blessing to work with. I wish she could be the manager at my new place, but unfortunately she is too committed to the podium. The only negative some of the windows are older so they are hard to operate at times and maintenance tries their best but they just need to be replaced. read more

I lived here for a year and a half. My personal pros and cons of living here were: Pros: -The area is safe and nice. -Nice apartment, it looked brand new when I moved in. -Spacious apartment, more than enough room for me. -Secure in that you need a key to get into apt. lobby building and hallways. -Quick and helpful replies from management. They were good communicators and everything was clear. -Overall quiet area. -Got a decent amount of my deposit back. -Gym and pool access. -When I submit an issue w/ the apt, management was quick to get back to me and maintenance had it quickly fixed. Cons: -You don't need a key to get into parking garage or stairwell. (Not a gated area, could be a safety issue but I never had a problem.) -No personal laundry included, have to pay to use community laundry room. -No AC included (I connected portable ACs which worked really well.) -Bad plumbing at times, the bathroom sink water sometimes smelled bad. -The pool and the gym are by each other, so people at the pool will knock on the gym door to go through the gym to use the bathroom. They track water all over the gym floor which could be a hazard. read more

There were never any issues with maintenance, proper notice, etc. Everything was spelled out very clearly and communicated well in advance. First and foremost, the main company DeAnza properties is responsible for many things listed. On site management gets caught in between DeAnza properties policies and residents experiencing issues. Don't go on the outer paints and new sun deck, pool chairs which they replaced after old ones were broken, lost their structure and disgusting. It's like lipstick on a pig. I moved out for 2 reasons: 1) excessive fridge noise in my unit. Not sure why, but it was really loud to my breaking point. The replaced old one with ever worse, loud, faulty fridge and refused to replace it with new one by stating all fridges make noise. Yes, motors do make noise but how much and how loud is the issue. 2) This particular unit #201 gets excessively hot, over 100F inside. If A/C isn't on all day during summer, you can't survive. Pros: Location and Maintenance. The staff is responsive and efficient. Two stars for these pros only. Cons: not in any particular order 1) Old apartments 2) Paper thin walls, you can hear neighbor's phone vibrate. 3) The entire building is architecturally faulty. Rug on the carpet keeps shifting without outside influence. Weird to say and weirder to experience the slant. 3a) Heat gets trapped and apt. internal heat reaches over 100F in summer due to faulty architecture. 4) Carpet where there should be hardwood and hardwood over a concrete slab of the garage. You can't walk bare feet in your own home. 5) Packages do get stolen. Many times people just take things from the mail closet. I've attached an email for recovery from one of the asst. managers who quit. 6) Elevator has issues. Many times they do shut it down for repairs. 7) Residents are not allowed to use balconies as they choose. Everything has to be approved by management. 8) They don't allow people to hang wreaths, Diwali hangings, any religious hangings, pictures at your door. YOU are paying for space. 9) Ventilators in the bathroom aren't enough as bathtubs get black mold and there is no other ventilation. 10) Single pane windows so no noise canceling, cold and heat protection. read more

I have been living at The Podium for ~8 months now, and I only have very positive things to say. I have been so impressed that I even decided to write my first ever Yelp review. What had originally sold me on an apartment at The Podium is the convenient location and also how beautiful the apartments are. The pool and gym are both very nice, and the courtyards outside each apartment hallway are full of flowers and fountains, which is such a nice added touch. There are also a ton of restaurants and shops within walking distance as well as a library. While my apartment and the complex are both beautiful what really has stood out to me since moving here are the staff members. The staff at the Podium have been extremely reliable and accommodating. Especially Ashley, the apartment manager, and the maintenance man (unfortunately have not caught his name yet) - they have been absolutely wonderful. Ashley responds very quickly to emails and is very accommodating. All maintenance requests are handled very quickly as well. They both go above and beyond to make sure residents are having a great experience. I really enjoy living at The Podium, and I would recommend it highly. read more

Do not rent their newly renovated apartment, I don't know what materials they used for decoration, but after 4 months, it is still smelly. When I moved in on 12/28/2018, the smell was terrible, my eyes were burning, I talked to the Admin about this, she told me all smell would gone after 1 week. I just moved to US at that time, have no friend here, and not familiar with this area. So I have no choice but wait, and have to keep the windows open during the winter. In past 4 months, my nose hurt, I fell dizzy everyday, and got migraines and fever, I have to live with pain pills and go to hospital every week. I don't want to risk my heath anymore so I told the Admin, I have to move out after 30 days. The Admin said I need to pay $3500.00 lease break fee because I signed the contact. I would pay the break fee if it is my fault, but in this case, I think it is their fault. The poor air quality of their apartment is hurting my health. I argued with the Admin, she insisted I had to pay that fee because I signed the contract. Seems she doesn't feel they have any responsibility. Besides this, the sound insulation is also poor, you can hear your neighbors' phone vibration. read more

We lived in Podium 4 years! Management (Ashley) and team (Patrick and Pablo) are excellent. They show up and fix things in a jiffy! And never charged us for anything. They are extremely professional and very nice people. Community is very good and is in a prime location and schools are awesome ! Cupertino Library is right beside Podium. Despite the name, all the apartments are not technically Condos, but they are supposed to be made with Condo-like standards. The majority of the units are a set of apartments that are in the main building and a set of Condo like apartments that are laid out around the grounds that have private garden style entrances. I live in the main building and compared to many of the apartments that I have lived in over the years, I actually really enjoy living in the place. The rent is pretty high, but comparable to others in the area. The pluses about this place, are covered, ample parking (don't have to walk to your car in the rain or enter a blazing hot vehicle in the summer!), main office that accepts deliveries for you (however, the manager has a tendency to conveniently be out of the office randomly throughout the day), great water heater (don't have to worry about a cold shower when other residents in close by units are showering), generally quiet due to the Condo like standard walls (barely hear the neighbors, I seriously used to hear my neighbor snore in my old apartment), reasonable insulation (not too hot or too cold in the apartment within reason), year round heated pool, mediocre gym (which is better than no gym), on site maintenance, safe neighborhood, and conveniently located near the freeway. Cons.... Sometimes the residents are slobs and leave trash around the building or common areas, the elevator is funky (shakes obscurely, making you feel like you are going to die), the laundry or dryer machines sometimes jack my quarters and it is a pain to get the money reimbursed (but that has happened at almost every apt building I have lived at), and the manager's weird dissapearances. All in all though, I would recommend the place to other apartment goers, as long as it fits their budget. read more

The walls are paper thin here ! In my apt, I used to hear people talking through he night. The pros are that rent is good (just a wee bit), location is good. Gym is open 24x7. However the system is run in the most antique way possible. No online payment or other modern stuffs. The management is OK ! You can live here, but don't expect too much. read more

I had a bad experience here, but NOT to the management's fault. This apartment complex has great location: very close to 85 and 280, a lot of food choices all around, multiple Asian grocery stores and Whole Foods within 5 mins drive. Hands down the best location. Management is decent, but that's probably because I never needed anything fixed or any troubles. When I moved in they helped me install my window AC. The only reason why I had such a bad experience is that my upstairs neighbor run a piano class at home. I know because I work from home and they play piano from 8am to 9pm every single day. There are different levels of piano playing, so my guess is they are running a piano class. I complained this to management more than 5 times, but nothing is done for a whole year I was there. The wall is also paper thin, to the point I have to hear my upstair neighbors snore every night. The snoring is crazy. I'm happy to escape the noise torturing everyday, but sad to leave such a great location. I'd definitely consider coming back here, but next time I'd be smarter and pick a top floor apartment instead. Pros: - Relatively inexpensive compared to other places - Hands down the best location - Security is great, since it's right next to the Apple buildings and there's 24/7 security patrol Cons: - Ventilation in the common corridors is a joke. Every lunch and dinner time be prepared to get soaked in food smell when everyone is cooking. - Thin walls - If you're in the apartments that face the Apple buildings directly, you might wanna be careful with your privacy. read more

I have been a resident of The Podium for over three years. I love it here. The Management is incredible, they are always there to help you with your needs and concerns. It's nice to know someone is there for you and not just doing their job but wanting to make your living comfortable. The maintenance man Pablo is fantastic. Always there to help and be there for you as well. I have never felt so safe. The underground parking is fanastic and a huge plus of protection. I love that there is underground parking for your guest as well. The security in the building is great. I like that it's not easy to get in and people around you are careful in making sure that the doors stay locked and secured. Everybody has each others backs. Great family feel to it. Everytime I think of may be renting somewhere else, I just never want to leave because of love this place so much. If I ever move it's only because I can get a bigger place in this same complex. There are a lot more pros than cons when comparing other places. This place out beats everyone out there, I think. My neighbors are great and respectful. It's nice when you can become close with those around you. I would highly recommend this place. You definintely get what you pay for! It's not cheap but it's worth the price. read more

I've been living here for a little over a month and have been dealing with constant silverfish problems, even though I keep the place clean. But the location is good. UPDATE: The duration of the silverfish problem was partially due to a miscommunication between the management and pest control. Pest control has now done a full spray of the entire unit. My experience living here was not great. This place seems nice based on the pricing and location but you learn as soon as you move there why. The staffs were usually nice but they did let their bad days show when they weren't friendly. And there was no reinforcement on noise levels at any time of day and night!....so get ready to hear everything your neighbors do throughout all hours. After owner was changed 3 years ago, service quality went down sharply. But rental price went up quickly. Apartment is too old so that roof leaking is never fixed. Ants appear everywhere inside building. For example, ants can be seen in kitchen, rest room, living room and bed room. Current manager, Ashley, has no responsibilities at all for residents. Emergency call is useless and people cannot even leave message due to no answering machine. Refuse to give her cell phone for emergency when she leaves office at 4:00pm daily. This situation leaves residents helpless. Not happy at all!!! read more

I stayed at the podium for 16 months and had a very good experience. PROS: - The management is very friendly and will respond to most of your requests in a timely manner. - Never heard the neighbors. Maybe I was just lucky. - Nice area. Close to theater, mall and restaurants. - Apartment was in very in good condition. - Apartments are well maintained, During my stay they replaced the patio door and completely renovated the balcony. - Plenty of parking space for a second car or visitors at night and weekends. CONS: - The gym is really basic and small. Don't expect a gym similar to the ones in other apartment complexes and don't cancel your gym membership. - Laundry rooms are small and crowded on weekends. Choosing an apartment with washer and dryer in unit would be ideal. - 2 apartments got robbed in broad day light during my stay. They added a security guard on site to address this issue not too long before I left in October 2012. - It took almost 2 months to complete a 2 weeks renovation job on my balcony. This is probably the fault of the contractor, not Podium management. Hope this might help someone! read more

If you like antique appliances, cabinets, bathroom tile and plumbing fixtures then you'll love "The Podium" When I first moved here the manager was really helpful and accommodating but she left a while ago I've lived here over 8 years and I actually have appliances, cabinets, bathroom tile and plumbing fixtures from last century. Really I'm not kidding. The walls are paper thin and you can hear your neighbors and they can hear you. Management is constantly changing [three in the last [6] months] and appears to be untrained. Even though we are in the heart on Cupertino and we should be secure my vehicle has been broken into twice and my daughters once. Thefts happen here on a regular basis. Obviously I've reached a breaking point and have given notice. Between the outdated appliances, cabinets, bathroom tile and plumbing fixtures, regular rent increases [3 in 2 years] and the lack of security I can not recommend "The Podium" and like another reviewer stated "The Podium Condominiums" are not condos. They are poorly run apartments. read more

Seems like a nice place from the outside but once you actually move in, the nightmare starts. The walls are incredibly thin so you have zero privacy. Even listening to music at a moderate volume will annoy your neighbors, which more often then not are rude and completely unsympathetic. Kids are running through the complex screaming and causing havoc and no one seems to care. The management is even worst. They take the side of families with (loud and obnoxious) kids over new tenants unanimously, even when the evidence says otherwise. I have been renting for 15 years not and have had a great relationship with every management I've ever rented from, but these guys are just impossible to work with. Then when I had enough and moved out, they tried to bill me for $2000 worth of "cleaning" charges even though the place was immaculate and had nothing wrong with it. I have never even been charged a dollar for cleaning and I've lived in 10+ apartments. I would rather live on the streets then live in this place ever again. read more
