Sewage leak in the garage.

These frequent 2 am false alarms are infuriating! We all wake up terrified in the middle of the night, and then we can't go back to sleep. We are groggy the next day, especially the kids. The latest one was a couple of nights ago. This has been going on for years now at least since we moved in nearly 3 years ago, and we have PTSD from it. Management keeps blaming the retail stores and restaurants on the first floor, and they pretend that they have no control over it. But the retail spaces are owned and leased by the management of this apartment complex! They just don't seem to care enough about fixing the issue so that the *entire complex* doesn't have to deal with these false alarms so often. Residents are complacent now because of the frequency of these false alarms. Somebody is going to get hurt if there is a real fire. How is it acceptable to have such a major safety issue go on for years without a solution? The underground parking garage often smells like a garbage dump, and it's disgusting. All the trash from the retail stores and restaurants below gets collected in huge garbage tanks in the garage, and they frequently overflow and stink up the place for weeks. There is one major overflow currently going on right now, and it started about two weeks ago. Please take a look at the attached photos. It's a sewer leak, not water, and we avoid going into the garage mainly because of the disgusting smell. This issue also has been going on for years now, and they just don't seem to maintain properly. It has to be a health hazard, but nobody seems to care. What is more infuriating about living here is that is that there is zero transparency about any of these issues that happen so frequently. There have been absolutely no communication about the recent fire alarms, garbage smell or other major issues. E-mails and phone calls to the office are never returned. Yeah, yeah it's in the middle of Main Street, but it gets old real fast. Main Street is not so bustling like Santana Row, so there is not much upside to living here with all these unresolved issues impacting our lives. The rents here are one of the highest in the area, so it's not like we get to stay here for cheap. We can't wait to get out of this place.

Avoid living here【5am Noise Warning】 Half of the units here are faced a small lane where the trucks constantly come at 5am in the morning. If you want to save your sleep, find another place.

Again fire alarms go off. It's so loud and unbearable my family has to all have ear plugs ready in every room.

Over priced, bad air insulation, too many little kids, too much activity due to retail and restaurants being connected, NOISY, and smelly at all times. This place sucks. Really low quality of life living. Save your money and sanity! Omg the fire alarm goes off often at the mist inappropriate times. Been going on for three years and often!! People are literally in their PJs, with their kids, in underwear, woken up frantically from sleep!!!

You are definitely getting what you pay for at Nineteen 800. I've been so lucky to stay here for my corporate housing after my big move from Arizona. Now that I've toured other complexes in the South Bay for a more permanent location, everywhere else pales in comparison. I only wish that I could afford to live here :( Here is what I love about the place: - Brand new apartment - Little to no carpet! Wood and tiled floors - woohoo - Stainless steel appliances that work! Gas stove, microwave/exhaust, dishwasher that doesn't require pre-rinsing, etc - Well-insulated and soundproofed walls. I haven't had to turn on AC so far - Private dog park in the courtyard that gets cleaned daily - 24hr security - Close to downtown Cupertino (whenever it gets built) - Walk-in closets the size of bedrooms - These rentals are slated to convert to sell, which may happen in approximately 2 years. In other words, you may be asked to leave OR buy your unit at a reduced price! Good for potential buyers. - First two months free Cons: - Some people don't clean up after their dogs in the dog park - $4600/month for 1450 sq ft 2br 2bath on the 4th floor not including utilities - The higher the apartment (floor-wise), the more expensive it gets - Not rent-controlled! South Bay has been experiencing an 8-30% increase in rent per year, so take that into consideration - About $8000 for the 3br penthouse. Might as well buy at that point or throw your money down a very large pit...

I have no complaints. It's an average apartment complex but with the greatest location in the area.

It's reassuring to know that when something comes up, our concerns are taken seriously and addressed promptly. The staff is also very responsive, friendly, and easy to communicate with. They also make an effort to bring the community closer with events. Overall, we appreciate the excellent service and the effort the team puts into making this a comfortable place to live.

I wish I could write a better review but I'm so disappointed by what was previously a great place to rent. The buildings are quite dated and the updates that have been made are of the cheapest quality. The old carpeting in the buildings was replaced last year...we all thought what had been placed was the liner and the installation people would be returning to lay the actual carpet. No...the carpet is just that thin and it causes sound to reverberate through the halls. The vinyl flooring in some units is cheap quality and poorly installed, so that it's constantly lifting. They continue to permit cigarette smoking on patios and balconies, and public areas around the site, which means there's smoke coming in through the windows, patio/balcony doors, and vents, regardless of whether you smoke. The complex spent three years and a lot of money to update the property, with the pool and hot tub, bbq area, and clubhouse were all unavailable during this time. The big reveal after all the work reflected that the only thing changed for residents was a nicer bbq area. The pool and hot tub, and all the chaises, tables, and umbrellas are the same that have been there since my initial residency. The clubhouse, which is only open during the management's working hours (unless reserved for a private event), is gorgeous but the main change is a remodel of the office space. The management and facilities staff are the only people who use the "clubhouse," and in great part due to the hours it's accessible as well as the fact that whenever someone goes in there, it feels as if you're interrupting the office staff having their breaks, hanging out and snacking, etc. All the parking spots were redesignated this past year as "assigned" spots, in a clear attempt to increase income for the management company. Residents must pay an additional fee monthly to reserve a spot, covered or not, and there are virtually no unassigned spots for additional resident cars or guests. The office staff regularly "patrol" the parking area for parkers who aren't "registered" and when discovering someone, send an email blast to the entire community calling out the car's identifying details and threatening to have the vehicle towed within a certain number of minutes if it's not moved. During weekends, the Springwood staff tend to park in the spots reserved for "new residents." Management sends email frequently admonishing residents that they've "been told" they cannot have anything on their balconies/patios, hallways, lobbies, etc. as if the residents are young children. I don't like when people break rules meant to ensure people's enjoyment of their rented home either, but there's a way to do this respectfully and a way to make people feel bad. When there are problems with the laundry room machines, the office staff will not assist. The response is that they haven't been trained on how to use the equipment or its software and residents have to contact the vendor (which never seems to result in a response). A dryer has been non-functional for months but despite numerous requests, the management staff have done nothing to ensure that it's repaired or replaced. With only 4 washers and 4 dryers per building, having one out of order creates a difficult situation for residents trying to do their laundry. On the plus side, the maintenance staff are without exception friendly and responsive. The apartments are in a great location and the people living there are generally quite nice, but there are few amenities and the management staff sometimes make residents feel like interlopers.

What had originally sold me on an apartment at The Podium is the convenient location and also how beautiful the apartments are. The pool and gym are both very nice, and the courtyards outside each apartment hallway are full of flowers and fountains, which is such a nice added touch. There are also a ton of restaurants and shops within walking distance as well as a library. While my apartment and the complex are both beautiful what really has stood out to me since moving here are the staff members. The staff at the Podium have been extremely reliable and accommodating. Especially Ashley, the apartment manager, and the maintenance man (unfortunately have not caught his name yet) - they have been absolutely wonderful. Ashley responds very quickly to emails and is very accommodating. All maintenance requests are handled very quickly as well. They both go above and beyond to make sure residents are having a great experience. I really enjoy living at The Podium, and I would recommend it highly.

I feel like I need to come to the defense of this wonderful home!…read more Montebello is a complex of about 200 condos, ranging from 1-3 bedrooms. Reading the negative reviews I will say that if you are looking to rent here, do your diligence and make sure your landlord is a decent one! There are a number of rules in this complex, especially around guest parking and moving which, while mildly annoying, have clear guidelines and resources to make the processes seamless. However, the actual complex is absolutely wonderful IMHO. The location is absolutely tops -- next to Starbucks RESERVE (woo woo!), Philz, in the same complex as Happy Lemon (tho I may be converted to Coffee vs boba with these amazing places nearby), Egghead (!!!), Ranch 99, AYCE KBBQ. omg - life here has been amazing, like living on site at Disneyland. Tuesdays have already become a Tpumps + Popeyes ritual with the hubby and bestie! When we're not stuffing our faces I also have heavily used Fedex, Sprouts, Target, Whole Foods for domestic stuffs. The Target has a great grocery section which has the special milk my princess daughter insists on every.single.morning. As a resident here, I will say that the make or break of any condo that is impossible to know until you show up is the HOA and I have been really impressed with how this one is run. They manage the complex's gym, spa, pool, and all the directors on the board are very reasonable and engaged. I love that the community here has so many wonderful individuals, which my family was nervous about before moving here. My neighbors are great and super friendly -- they've won me over despite my curmudgeonly tendencies -- the gardens are well kept, the front area provides endless joy for my daughter. Most parking spaces are close to an elevator but yea I'm sure there are a couple units where you just get unlucky and have to take a flight to the first elevator. The layouts that I've seen while trolling apartments.com and redfin are all great and quite thoughtful. With a toddler I have a very high appreciation for the layouts without shared walls! I'll also add that the ranges here are gas which is awesome! Very rare to find in a condo. I read and re-read these reviews many times before moving here but our family is so happy here! What made The Meadows so great was the combination of the people, the property, and the location. The management and maintenance teams were wonderful throughout my time here, the community was friendly, and the grounds were always exceptionally clean and beautifully maintained. There's a ton of greenery throughout the property, and it always felt like the people taking care of the community genuinely cared about making it a nice place to live. That experience started before I even moved in. The leasing staff took the time to understand what I was looking for and helped me find a unit that fit my preferences. They were even gracious enough to work with me on getting a better deal. Looking back, that first interaction was a pretty good indication of how I'd be treated over the next three years. I also really appreciated how reasonable management was when it came to renewals. Even with the rent-control limits on annual increases, my rent generally went up by less than what they could have charged. I never felt like management was trying to squeeze as much as possible out of existing residents, which unfortunately isn't something I can say about every apartment community in the Bay Area. Maintenance was excellent too, although, honestly, the fact that I only had a single maintenance request in more than three years probably says something on its own. When I did need help, everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. The Meadows is also easily one of the cleanest apartment communities I've ever seen. When I moved in, it was obvious that they had put real care into preparing and cleaning the unit. As someone who is pretty particular about keeping my own home clean, I appreciated that. I noticed the same attention to detail when I moved out and saw the cleaning checklist they use to prepare apartments for the next resident. It was surprisingly close to the kind of checklist I'd make myself. My apartment had wonderful natural light and became an incredibly cozy home for me. I faced the expressway, and while there was a small amount of road noise, it was never enough to really bother me. More than anything, I loved coming home every day. That may be the simplest and most important compliment I can give a place where I spent more than three years. The location was great as well. There are restaurants and grocery stores nearby, plenty of good routes for running and walking, and it's incredibly easy to get onto highways. The property itself also has great amenities, and I particularly appreciated how well the gym was maintained. Despite being so conveniently located, the community always felt comfortable and safe. I never felt uneasy living or walking around here. There were also community events throughout the year that brought residents together. I certainly didn't go to every one, but I appreciated that they existed and that management put real effort into making The Meadows feel like a community rather than just a collection of apartments. Even moving out was surprisingly easy. Everything was handled professionally and straightforwardly, without unnecessary stress or surprises. It was nice that my last experience with the management team was just as positive as my first. The only reason I moved was because I wanted to live in a different part of the Bay Area. It had nothing to do with The Meadows itself. Over the years I visited plenty of other apartment communities where friends and coworkers lived, and I honestly never came away wishing I had chosen somewhere else. It's rare to leave an apartment feeling genuinely sad to go, but The Meadows really became home for me. I looked forward to coming home every day, and I'm incredibly happy I stayed as long as I did. (ps. videos are from the day I moved out; the place looks even better after they take a pass before the next tenant's move in)
