My wife and I have lived here for almost a year now, and this has been our favorite community we've lived in so far. I love the townhome feel, where my door leads directly to outside without going through shared hallways, etc. Being able to rent a 2-floor town home without a private landlord (and likely an annoying HOA) is a really nice feature you don't find often around here. Being walking distance from Seven Seas Park has been GREAT. Unfortunately, grocery stores and restaurants are severely lacking in this part of Sunnyvale, but that's not this property's fault. The amenities are decent, but nothing to write home about. They recently upgraded the gym a bit and we've hosted some friends in the event room, which has a nice kitchen/fridge, some speakers, and a shuffleboard. The pool is nice and usually not busy. Caroline started as a resident services representative around the time we moved in, and she has been extremely friendly and accommodating. Maintenance is usually pretty quick, as well! We chose to go with the "less updated" 2-bedroom for the lower rent compared to the "updated" one, and I would highly recommend that route if possible. The kitchen and appliances are still pretty good. The only things I'd change about the community are to have a shared dog space with grass, and have some kind of gardening/plant maintenance. The bushes can get kind of overgrown near the pathways and the trees drop a lot of flowers all over the walkways in the spring! read more

I have been sick and isolated because of exposure to COVID19. This apartment complex is threatening me with eviction because of my illness despite a state order to stop all evictions because COVID19. They continue to intimidate me, and will not relent. I have called the police and reported the apartment complex to the state. Do not live here. These are miserable people who use intimidation tactics on the sick and dying in the middle of a pandemic. P.S. This was a review I held back. This occurred in April 2020. The news is that the state stepped in and stopped Greystar. I still live here in 2023, but recent actions seem like retaliation against myself and my family. The grass has stopped growing here. I thought they had changed, which is why I held back the review. Greystar has recently changed how they treat myself and my family, despite repeated attempts of reconciliation. They won't listen to you, they won't consider your family's needs, and they won't be reasonable. I pay my rent, and have lived here for almost 10-years. Management and ownership has changed at least 3 times. Greystar has let the landscaping fall into disrepair, does not repair common facilities in a timely manner. Water often fails, and turns brown. There is only one electric car charging station for many residents here. There are no solar panels panels on the parking shelters here despite the ample space. Water is communally billed, instead of metered by apartment. Water heating is also by a communal boiler, and uses old systems. Newer systems such as heat pumps and/or solar heating are not used. Heating and air conditioning and other appliances are only replaced when they break down, and never upgraded. The washers and dryers are the least energy efficient types. I have had the refrigerator either broken down or replaced so many times, I include a budget for replacing the rotted food. The microwave door handle has broken off, and despite having pointed this out during an inspection, and being assured that this would be replaced, this has never happened. I have pointed out leaks by the washer and the air conditioner on the upstairs carpet, but the carpet has not been repaired. Prior management in 2015 had replaced carpet, but not Greystar. Retired now, I am considering moving. read more

I have been really suffered from upstair's heavy footstep. They don't stop until middle of the night 3am and start every early in the morning 7am. They wake me up constantly. Management has no sympathy regarding to the sleep deprivation i'm suffering. Either "i can't hear anything in the recording with speaker phones", or "i'm waiting for an approval to transfer unit". After living here for 3 years we decided to move. we lived in building 1156 unit 105. We had numerous complaints about the residents on top unit 206 making noise during the quiet hours. When calling security they were never able to hear anything since the noise was coming from the kitchen clearly when standing out side of the door you can't hear noise ,numerous times I asked if security could come in to my apartment and hear the noise and apparently they cannot come in to residents apartments. I was told by management to record such noise with my cell phone in which I was never able to capture the noise . These tenants are a nuisance. I feel sorry for whoever moved it to this apartment. The complex is dirty, not well taken care of, and there is trash everywhere. Parking is a nightmare. When you get home late, there seems to be no parking because some residents have up 5 cars when we first moved in the limit was two. There are residents who spend their day moving their car around all day .I don't even think managers are aware of how many residents reside in an apartment. There are homeless people going through the trash in the middle of the night, and residents have gotten their vehicles vandalized and broken into .what once was a nice complex has turned into an unsafe community before managers use to screen thier residents now it seems like anyone can rent here. David, on the other hand, needs to take a course on managerial training he is a smart ass and uselss does not take tenants' complaints seriously . read more

worst place i've ever stayed, when we moved in lots of things are broken, window blinds, drawers smells like curry, and windows are not cleaned at all. During the stay, the dishwasher as well as the wash machine are broken. My husband scheduled a tour here for 1 pm and the day before they emailed him confirming everything was fine and that there would be 1 bedroom apartments to see. We start driving over from Salinas and barely 20 minutes before our appointment, when we're already almost there, the leasing agent calls him to tell him that there are no 1 bedroom available because someone took it off the market the day before and that not even the two bedrooms were available until mid February for viewing. The only thing that was available were 4k townhomes that we weren't even interested in. The leasing agent basically just says that they have nothing in our budget and that we can just do a virtual tour after we had already driven 1 and a half hours to make it to this stupid appointment. She couldn't even give so much as an apology for having wasted our time and gas. Don't bother with this place if you don't want to waste your time. If I could give zero stars, I would. She couldn't have even been bothered to call him in the morning before we started heading out to let him know about their lack of availability. read more

3 stars for units and 0 stars for office staff (maintenance team was fine) When we moved in we were working with an amazing property manager who promised to take care of multiple outstanding work orders in our unit and then she left and was replaced with Chantelle who is horrible. We had THREE refrigerators not work that made a mess of our carpets during installation that they promised to clean and not charge us for in writing and Chantelle not only did not follow through with what was PROMISED (in writing for that matter) she was rude, blatantly ignored us and didn't honor or follow up on anything. Also when we moved in the unit we saw had white counter tops that our original leasing manager promised to update that Chantelle again, never followed up on after multiple attempts. The only time she would go out of her way was if SHE needed something. She was not friendly, quite condescending in all conversations and unresponsive. Don't for one second thing she actually cares about people - she only cares about her paperwork. We were great tenants and all we wanted was what was promised and then when move out time came she sent our final move out bill that we were disputing to collections even though THEY OWED US money. We ended up paying it to just be done with her and this lease but it was wrongful and they still aren't making it right. BEWARE of Chantelle and the office staff. read more

There are a couple of major issues with the community - noise and overflowing trash. The walls are paper thin and you can hear people through the walls, late at night. The trash situation has been getting worse steadily. Trash routinely overflows the trash can and the ground is littered with it. The entire area has a horrible stench to it. Avoid. read more

Pros: - location (close to 101) - though for a safe entry through the short merge from Fair Oaks you will require divine aid - gym is small but adequate - complex is neatly maintained and the Mediterranean-style buildings and landscaping are certainly easy on the eyes - AC and heating work just fine, as do the kitchen appliances, locks and lighting - Management is outstanding. Both Peter & Chantelle were friendly, professional and very helpful - Service is outstanding. Fausto and Jose were always prompt and efficient Cons: - it's run by Alliance so be prepared to be charged an outlandish sum - the living room is like a cave. No lighting whatsoever, chalk it up to poor planning - for the rent they charge the formica countertops are unsightly eyesores. And while black appliances are fine, again, given the exorbitant rent, countertops need to be granite and appliances stainless steel - landscaping while aesthetic needs to be practical too and is in desperate need of a trim. The dense foliage attracts too many insects in the summer - outdoor cats have the propensity to leave decapitated birds outside your property Overall not a bad place thanks mainly to management and service personnel. read more

If you don't have kids going to public schools, these apartments are one of the best we've lived in over the last 6 years. Pros: 1. Fantastic community, friendly and respectful neighbors. It was so quiet here despite the many small 2-legged and 4-legged residents! 2. Very clean swimming pool and amenities 3. 2 blocks from seven seas park. 4. 2 blocks from bargain outlet for quick shopping. 5. Excellent maintenance indoor and outdoor. 6. Top floor units are well lit and airy, they have the MOST efficient heating/cooling systems. 7. Move out was painless for us. Cons: 1. Lost packages, not sure if they have improved building number visibility. All buildings share unit numbers which is a source of great confusion with amazon/google shopping delivery folks. 2. Top floor units are desirable in terms of light and privacy but the steep stairs can be problematic for some. read more

I lived at Tamarind square for a year. Heres a bit of caution for everyone who is considering living here. I scheduled a move out inspection with the management, so that both management folks and I understand the cost of moving out. Seem fair, right! We went through the move out inspection and I was told that I have to pay them a specific amount which I agreed to. Few weeks after I moved out, I was billed around a couple of 100 bucks over the quoted amount. I have an email copy from the management about what I should have been charged as proof. Since then I have tried to reach them so many times. For once they replied and when I explained them what the issue was, the management and the customer service have been ignoring my emails and phone calls relentlessly and are not responding. This is a horrible customer service and height of irresponsibility. Currently I am trying to get in touch with corporate Alliance that owns this rental and hope they "care enough" to respond. If not I will be forced to take a legal action. I cant imagine that such a big rental agency will be so cheap to make extra couple of $100s. read more

For the price you can find better places. Not worth the price. I just chose there because it was close to work. We rented a 1 bedroom which are situation under the 2 bedroom units. The 1 bedrooms are like a cave and you don't get any sunlight. Moreover the prices they charge there are not realistic considering you get laminate counter tops. Really? this is not a luxury place. Don't be fooled by the model units. Also the 2bedrooms only have 1 bathroom which is only on the second level. I had a barking dog who I had to complain about 4 or 5 times but they did nothing about it. The dog barked for 2-3 hours straight. . .I'm not kidding. Luckily they moved out finally, but the staff could not do anything more than leave a note on the door. I had things stolen off my patio and dog pee on my front door area. All I've commented to the staff and they just ignored. The staff seem friendly at first before you sign the lease but they are not a top service complex. The maintenance guy is completely rude and the manager's children run around the complex bouncing basket balls off your car. No joke! Moreover, when you move out they nit-pick every single dust mark and said they are going to charge you $$$$ (hundred) of dollars to clean the place. Very unprofessional staff. . . I had a bad experience there and I'm a model A tenant. I always pay my rent on time, no loud partying and I don't let my dog poop all over the complex. read more

We have lived at Tamarind for two years and recently renewed our lease for a third year. I think this place is great, like everywhere there are some issues but honestly we can't complain. We currently have a BMR one bedroom which is spacious for two people. Bathroom is big and so is the walking closet. LOVE the AC, and W/D in unit. Due to our growing family we are hoping to move to a two bedroom townhouse. These are incredible with lots and lots of space and great natural light. The gym has what you need, is usually not very occupied and is VERY clean. My favorite are the TVs I use when working out. The pool at times seems like a quiet little oasis. For the most part the complex is super quiet and peaceful. This also includes the neighborhood itself. Lots of people go out for nightly strolls. Even though our apartment faces the pool the noise level is manageable and have never encountered a noise problem after hours. When the management is there and do not have a temp they tend to be friendly, helpful and prompt with their responses and we only ever had a real problem with one guy, who quickly left. The maintenance staff is super friendly too and tends to be on top of the request. Overall I have really enjoyed living here and hope to continue. It is a nice community. read more

At move out, we had a bill that we were disputing, that we ended up paying. They sent us to collections EVEN THOUGH WE PAID THE BILL. We disputed it, they told us it was taken care of...however I just found out my credit has been being dinged for 6 months as a result of their negligence to remove the paid bill from collections. I move in a couple of months ago and I love it here. I'm renting a town home and there is so much space. People in the office are really helpful and the grounds are super clean. They have a pool, spa, gym and clubhouse. The only negative thing is no stainless appliances. read more

I have enough space in my apartment (it's a first floor), the kitchen is really comfortable area for me, apartments are spacious with big closets, looked brand new when we moved in. The staff are all extremely friendly and professional, they help with literally anything you need. The town homes are extremely spacious and they look great! Things I love in particular... Walk in Closets Giant Living Room Tons of Storage Space Fantastic Kitchen layout Laundry in Unit Two Bathrooms Bedrooms are on opposite sides of the apartment giving total privacy Beautiful view/balcony Pool/Hot Tub area for when you just want to relax It's really just a fun place to be and everyone just seems like they are always in a good mood in the community. The town home style apartments are very spacious (with dual masters, each with walk-in's). We never had any issues with the management at that time, and the maintenance crew was always super prompt. This place is NOT luxury at all! They may advertise that they are, but they are not! 1) The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything! Neighbor to the left, could hear them in their bedroom, neighbor on the right, nonstop barking dogs, neighbor upstairs, loud stomping and uncontrollable crying baby. 2) Management does not care about the tenant's needs. Complained several times about our noisy neighbors and nothing ever happened. 3) Parking spots are tight, and far from the unit. 4) 1bd is like living in a cave. No natural sunlight at all. 5) Appliances are not luxury items. Counters are cheap laminate and the appliances are loud and worked half the time. 6) This complex is filled with children. If you love having children play and scream in the courtyard right outside of your unit, constantly staring into your unit, then this is the place for you. 7) Gym is the size of my bedroom with only a few basic machines and some free weights. 8) There are trees everywhere so if you want a satellite, not going to happen! 9) Last but not least, they charge you an arm and leg when you move out. They sent me a letter telling me that I was responsible for the last months rent when they had already rented out the unit. $1,300 in damages/cleaning fee for move out costs. Are you kidding me????? For the price this place charges for "luxury living", you can and WILL find better elsewhere. I'm just sad I never left sooner. read more

This place is awful. It is no wonder why there are so many vacant units. The apartment feels like a dark cave, parking is far from the unit, the walls are paper thin, and the noise from the fountain and pool are intolerable. On many occasions I have had people staring into my apartment from the patio at the leasing office by tamarind square staff- CREEPY!!!!!!!! Further, how can you call your apartment luxury living when you have no luxury items. The gym is a poor excuse for a gym with only a few machines, the counter tops are not real granite (they are cheap laminate), the painters did a pathetic job and spilled paint all over the walkways, there are spiders everywhere, we even had a random pipe coming out of the ceiling in the bathroom that did not go to anything. This place was WAY OVERPRICED!!! read more

We lived there for a few months and it was our first apartment home in the US. they just got new staff members and both Marissa and Diana are great, they are nice and response to every need to question that you have. we had a 2 bdrm "townhouse" that is on the second floor and it had tons of space, the light from outside of good in the living room and in the master bedroom, in the kitchen and the other bedroom the light was fair, this very much depends on where is your apartment is pointing to.. the complex is super clean and well maintained! maintenance are very responsive and doing everything to perfection. I've read some complaints about the fact that they charge you for stuff when you are leaving. it's true and it's in some way a bummer.. but when we got in to the apartment it was feeling like it was brand new. we have a new carpet, fresh paint and new appliances. when we moved out they only charged us on steam cleaning the carpet because we kept the apartment clean and didn't mess the paint. so the old management might be more picky with what they charged, it did leave the apartment and the entire community super clean and nice. you have a 365 days a year heated pool and hot tub which is awesome! and a 24 hour Gym. another great factor is the fact that in the night everything is well lit! when you take your dog out at night it feels safe and secure. i really loved it and the only reason we left is because we wanted an apartment with no stairs and they didn't have one available at that time. there is a $50 monthly pet rent which is not cool since it's just paying them another $50 for nothing really. you have plenty of parking and 1 reserved parking spot (which is a little narrow, but OK) to summarize it all i would definitely recommend giving this place a try. not the chapest place to live in, yet it does worth it! read more
