If you are looking for an honest and hardworking plumber in the Chesapeake area, The Plumber Lamont is your guy! We had a wobbly toilet that needed to be pulled and reset and originally had a big name company come out for a quote--to say I was absolutely shocked when ​the guy quoted me $485 is an absolute understatement. I just so happened to be scrolling later that night on a local Facebook group and saw a post where someone was asking for recommendations for an "honest and trustworthy plumber" and Lamont was recommended multiple times. I gave him a call and asked if he might have any openings within the next two days, and he said he would try to squeeze me in between jobs. Not only was he able to squeeze me in the following afternoon, but he also let me know that it would cost $160 to complete the job! My jaw dropped when I heard his quote after being told it would cost $485 earlier that week. The day of, I received updates letting​ me know when he was on his way and what time he was expected to arrive. He arrived at my home with all of the necessary tools, but what I really thought was great is that he also had an extra​ pair of ​shoes to change into for inside the house so he didn't track anything in--we are "no shoes in the house" people so of course he won some major points for that! While working, he made some videos (if you go to his fb page he has a lot of videos for some of the jobs he's completed) through what he was doing and he answered any questions I had. We were blessed to be referred to The Plumber Lamont by a coworker. You never talk about plumbers until you need one and then that dread kicks in. I was told, "Oh have I got a good guy for you" with a big smile. I was optimistic but I have to say my expectations were exceeded. When Lamont arrived, he had great communication about each step including videos to help us understand what he was doing and why. He was polite, funny, and a great conversationalist. He also was very clear that while he valued his job and his professionalism, his family and helping others was his priority. I will always support a small business with integrity and kindness. I called The Plumber Lamont on a Sat. morning because i woke up to water all around the base of my toilet. He was on job but promised to be to me by noon. Lamont came out on time, he removed my toilet and found that the pipe that should be attached to the toilet was detached. He gave me an estimate and repaired my plumbing that day. His price was amazing optainable. We okayed the work and the problem was solved with in a few hours. Lamont is terrific and as a military family always starting over, I am so thankful to now be able to say come whatever water problems, we now have a trustworthy, responsive plumber! I was at woman's luncheon grumbling about needing to get my outside spigot shut-off fixed before our next freeze, when my friend immediately texted Lamont's info and told me he is honest and does terrific work. I have seen several positive reviews and today was my opportunity to have him out for a service call to my house. I had a bad wax ring and water was leaking whenever the toilet was flushed. Lamont was out of town when I first called but he was able to work me in on the first day back at work after numerous calls while he was out. He fixed the seal and a few other things. He provided videos of the work from beginning to end and left the area cleaner than it was when he got here.
