Food is not bad, service is a slow. This is one of those places that has excellent reviews from the locals because it is the only game in town. Wife said fish sandwich was good, son said bacon cheeseburger was somewhere between ok and good. I waited 40 minutes for a 7 inch pizza that was a 7 out of ten flavor wise but was semi- warm when it finally made it to the table and all the sausage fell off when you picked it up due to no cheese over it to hold it down. Loaded Cheese fries were decent but could have stood additional toppings....should just call them cheese fries. We were going to split a piece of cake which was reviewed highly but we ordered it and nearly 10 minutes later still no cake soooo we cancelled the cake and paid the nearly 60 dollar bill and hit the door. Food was great! My husband and I shared the fried shrimp and chose onion rings and waffle fries as our 2 sides. We chose to share to save room for a piece of blueberry cake. Carl's steak sandwich is a tad salty. but cooked to tender perfection with a brown gravy smothering it. Fries are crinkled and crispy outside soft inside. Pizza comes hand tossed or thin. Thin was good, not greasy with crispy bacon topped square sliced pieces. Sweet tea is extra extra sweet. Yum. Very good service each time we go here. Cakes. Absolutely loved this roadside local place. Definitely do not judge this place by the looks or location. It was late and we had a group of 6 but no problem as we walked in and they set us immediately. Cakes oh my goodness at the beautiful cakes. Unfortunately we didn't have room to try any but there were at least six or more large cakes ready to eat. We had 4 pizzas and they were all awesome. Like bbq, pizza is very subjective BUT I have a comparison for those who know. I grew up eating Godfathers and loved it. I found Minsky's in KC and it is similar and I love it. If you know of them when they were popular and loved them, you will love Pizza Spot too! The crust is chewy and the sauce is good. Not over sauced and the cheese is stretchy. We tried the combo and the pepperoni. They were both good so I went back for more a couple days later. For this comparison to my love of the old Godfather's Pizza, I'll give it 5 stars. Also, the weight staff was attentive and fast. It's not over priced. If you are on your way from Knoxville to Lexington and need a lunch/dinner stop, try this place. The only sign is on the wall. Ok, this is a fun place, in a way. Everyone who stays at the Days Inn gets sent here. For good reason, its the only place around! You are either a local or a guest at the Inn! lol. Tables and vinyl seats are all cracked and beat up, but don't let that scare you. Great friendly service. We had something that was called pizza. As a former New Yorker I can assure this is not pizza or even closet to pizza. But it was very tasty, sort of a flatbread thing. We both had salads to go along with it. Just fine. Even though the Days Inn guy said get the cake, we passed on dessert. But upon paying the bill, we saw the cakes! OMG, just go there and eat cakes. Fresh made and looked fabulous. This place a mile off I-75 was recommended by Dillon, who manages the Days Inn in Jellico. What a gem! We started with onion rings, which were thick with soft onion and a delicious crunchy batter. Mom had the pizza burger, huge and yummy. My spouse had a bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and house made dipping sauce. They offer double burgers but the single is more than enough. I had the sirloin steak cooked perfectly, with baked potato and generously sized dinner salad with house made ranch dressing. Wow. While the food was excellent, more exceptional was the warm and friendly service. We were treated like long lost family. Too full for dessert but we couldn't pass up the home made Italian cream cake to go. Soooo yummy!!! While passing thru the Tennessee Kentucky state line on I-75 treat yourself to this little hidden jewel of a reststaurant. Nothing fancy; just down home good eats and service. read more

Was looking for dinner as we were driving on I-75 and this place popped up. Had something for everyone. We had the pizza, which was very good, and the catfish dinner. Hushpuppies were good, as was the baked potato. Good service and the food came out hot and in a very reasonable time. Phone didn't stop ringing and the parking lot was almost full when we got there. This place is a lovely hidden gem. The menu looked - very extensive but mostly fried food. Little to no vegetarian options because it's a small back country pizza spot. But there are lots of options! We each had the steak hoagie. It is a preferred favorite for 30 years! So, yeah, we had to try it - and with steak fries. I generally like my steak hoagies with pizza sauce but wanted to experience the original. It comes with mushroom gravy, banana peppers, and Mayo! Whatever. It was good, but so, so messy! I am a local. In Jellico you have very little choices however I would still go to Pizza Spot even if I had plenty other places to choose from. Their pizza is very good and has plenty of cheese. If you want to try something a little different get their Taco Pizza...it is really good. My go to is the potato skins! These are the best that I have had anywhere!!!! Cheese and bacon....you can't go wrong ordering these. My husband always gets the cheeseburger and fries (the best in town by far). The fries are pretty darned good! Honestly, looking at the outside of the place, it doesn't look like the kind of place to sit down and have a family meal. Though, once you're inside, you feel welcome and comfortable. Old Pa and I, on our quest for the best burger in the area, found ourselves at The Pizza Spot today. You'd probably drive past this place if you weren't looking, not much signage unless you come in from the East (I-75) side. I had a Bacon Burger w/everything and Crinkle Cut Fries. Pa had a Cheeseburger w/everything and steak fries. A mound of food for sure. Pa is a French Fry whore and had to leave some on the plate because he was stuffed. The Pepsi I ordered was a quart minimum. The place was clean and the service was friendly. I enjoyed the food and will be back to pay more attention to the menu. The women ordered the junior cheeseburgers that came with fries and it was fantastic and good size cheeseburgers. The guys ordered the steak sandwich that comes with chips. The steak sandwich is kinda like a Salisbury steak with gravy on top. It was different then anything that I had before, it was good, but the cheeseburgers were great. This is what I would call a stop on the way through on I-75 to where ever. We had the hand tossed pizza with our favorite toppings of cheese, ham, pepperoni, onion and green peppers. I can't place where or what is in the sauce but it had the right amount of it. Which is good. What really makes this an interesting pizza, is that hand tossed crust. Cooked properly it is crusty on the bottom and the dough!? Omg!! It is a delicious as it has the same thickness and texture of a pretzel dough that is just short of perfect.
