The food here is 10/10! I've tried everything on the menu and I have no complaints! Upper Marlboro needed this gem. Highly recommend! read more

I recently got to try this place during their grand opening. The space is nice and clean on the inside. Great seating area. I arrived late so only select menu items were available. I ordered the smoked salmon and it was amazing! Great sauce and lots of flavor. The baker beans could use a little love in my opinion. So I jazzed them up a bit. I'm super excited for a new food spot in the area because there aren't many outside of fast food so I hope they keep up the good service! read more

The food is amazing but sometimes it's a little bit of a wait but you've to understand that they cook it on the grill. So I would recommend you try them and price is reasonable.I'm a regular sometimes three times a week..Jerk chicken, catfish, ribs , cornbread is like a pound cake macaroni and cheese is awesome. You won't be disappointed read more

Ribs and Mac and Cheese with the mild sauce slapped. Haven't had a good bbq place in the dmv yet so I got used to mission bbq. This place is a hit! read more

I've been looking for some solid bbq and I found it. I had the rib tips the first time and they were somewhat hard. However, I went back a second time and got actual ribs. They redeemed themselves with those. Everything I've had has been great. My husband says that this is the best bbq he's ever had. Please come prepared with a credit card because they do not accept cash. Also, they won't have any smoked chicken salad until the spring even though it's actively on the menu. Overall, I'm glad that this place is here. read more

Placed an order online, the order was supposed to take an hour and a half to be ready. About an hour later, I received a text saying the order was canceled. I was already in the parking lot, so I went in to inquire what was wrong. They said they tried to call (from an unknown number from Texas). They informed me that they were out of chicken which was ordered. I asked if I could replace order with ribs. The young girl went into the back and came right out and said they are out of ribs also. How can you be out of chicken and ribs and are a chicken and rib restaurant at 5:45 pm and don't close until 8:00pm..... why not leave a message if it's an unknown number. Poor customer service, that I will never support again. read more

Food was great - the brisket specifically. Service is slow and worth the wait. Once they get totally set up in this new location, it will be a great spot to hang out. read more

Everything is good! The smell! The service! The portions! Everything!!! I got two 3 meat/3 side specials as I have a family of 7. The brisket was made perfectly. This ribs, tender and meaty. The bbq sauce had the perfect taste as it was tangy, yet had this slight spice to it that was perfect! The chicken was moist and tender. The days after coming here, I thought about when I'd return!! Highly recommend. read more

I'll be placing my third order today.everything we've order was delicious Their smoked wings and rib tips are my favorite. The sides tastes like my mama is in the kitchen, delicious, the potato salad, sweet potatoes, Kale greens, Mac and cheese all were delicious. The Pit Stop gets a 500 rating, that's 100 from every family member in this household. read more

This was awesome! Just got here from out of town and stopped here on the way to the bay. We were nervous when we drop by but the reviews weren't bad so we decided to try it. The brisket and Mac and cheese were some of the best we've ever had, the portions are more than generous. There are 8 of us and the manager came out to meet us. Great service, fast and friendly. Highly recommend. read more

The Pit Stop - Brisket - Barbeque Near Me - Upper Marlboro, Maryland

Their smoke meat is delicious. The sides are not good. The BIGGEST issue is there's no heat in this establishment.

So excited for this new spot in Upper Marlboro! We needed this! I got ribs, wings and mac n cheese. The ribs were decent. I give them an 8/10. I wish they were bigger and more meaty. The wings were a winner... 9.5/10. They were supposed to be buffalo but they forgot the sauce, but they were still so good! The perfect smoked wing! I will pass on the mac n cheese... 3/10. I will have to find another side i like. I wish they had collards instead of kale. Definitely a new go to in Upper Marlboro! read more

The wait was a bit long but the bbq was so good. We had the ribs and brisket sandwich. Mac and cheese was well seasoned!

I ordered through DoorDash recover my order but not my two sides. My wife like the ribs and I had the jerk wings which was ok. Once I drove to the location I received horrible customer service I guess due to his mouth being full of food. Finally I get my two sides, my wife WAS NOT a fan of the potato salad and neither was I and as for the beans they were straight out the can. No extra butter sugar or nothing. I will NOT be trying them again read more

Pretty Damn Decent! I ordered the ribs, chicken and brisket. Surprisingly enough the side orders were actually good!! And that's rare because BBQ restaurants usually have good bbq and trash side orders or good sides and not so good bbq. Being as though the BBQ and the sides are good I give them a solid 8.5 outta 10!! I recommend this spot read more

Waited almost TWO HOURS in the COLD restaurant and food wasn't even that good. First and last time dining.

I keep saying I'm going to take pictures but the next thing I know the food is gone... lol... WELCOME to the neighborhood. Yes we'll be back. So far we've ordered from there 3 times. The brisket, ribs & chicken are very good. Keep up the good work. read more

The food is excellent BUT they do not answer the phone most of the time, so to order you have to go in. This is terribly inconvenient. The establishment in Virginia is run in an excellent manner. The establishment in Maryland is going to lose money because they simply do not answer the phone to take an order. read more

Sad. Wish I could leave a positive review, but after driving 40-minutes to patronize a new business in our community, I arrived, placed my order. Was told it would be a 40-minute wait....after walking my order to the back the counter service person told me "I'll have to refund you your purchase, they are no longer taking orders". 1hr and 45minutes before 8pm close. Go at your own risk. read more

Ribs, Chicken and Brisket are Decent. Sides are ok at best, but that Service......HORRIBLE!! I've been 3 times now, and that lady in the front is rude!! Placed my order online and it still took damn near 1hr and change!! I try with my People but geeezzz!! read more

Terrible service, placed a order at 3:30 that as told would not be ready until 5:50 arrived at 6:15 and was told they still needed 25 mins. Terrible customer service read more

The Brisket was really good. The ribs had a good taste, but not very meaty. The potato salad was good. The sweet potatoes were good. My husband did carry out. So I haven't been to the spot. We will definitely go back for the brisket. read more

I went last week after a suggestion from friends. I got the 3 meat combo with sides. The brisket, ribs, and smoked chicken wings were so tender. I wasn't a huge fan of the sides. Mac and cheese, Cole slaw, and potato salad was just ok. I will definitely be back for the meats. I will make my own sides. read more

If you're in the DMV, do yourself a favor and check out the Pit Stop here in MD. Hands down the best BBQ in our area and family-owned, so you know everything is made with love. In addition to the tender ribs that fall off the bone, you have delicious side options that brings everything together. The mac and cheese is super cheesy and creamy. The kale and baked beans are also delicious and offer a unique sweet flavor that I love. Local gems like this are the heartbeat of our communities, let's continue doing our part in showing up and supporting them. read more

We go there weekly because the food is made fresh daily and everything we have tried is so delicious. The ribs are cooked to perfection !!!!

I'm a return customer at the pitstop and the food never disappoints. Most recently I got the three meat combo with three sides and everything was fresh and delicious. Staff is friendly and the space is clean and big enough to sit and eat inside. read more

This was the first and LAST time I would step foot inside that establishment. THEE absolute worst experience ever. First, I tried calling ahead to order. NOPE. The phone kept going to voicemail after calling an hour straight. Then I tried to order online. NOPE. Online ordering wouldn't load. I thought about ordering via\ DoorDash pick up. NOPE. The price is doubled on DoorDash. I went inside the restaurant on my lunchbreak. After ordering, I was told that the food would take 30 minutes. A bit long in my opinion but I can kill some time in the Amish Market a few doors down. I come back 35 minutes later and food is still not ready. There was a lady inside who told me she ordered her food an hour and 40 minutes ago and her food still wasn't ready. So I inquire how much longer my food would take since my lunchbreak is almost over. The young man at the counter advised that my food would be prepared once they finished the lady ahead of me (The one who has been waiting 1 hour 40 minutes). Unacceptable. I politely asked for a refund. As soon as I asked for the refund, a young man came out and asked if my name was Alexia. I said yes. He then proceeds to rip the receipt off the bag my food was going in and threw it in the trash. No apologies, no explanation for extreme wait time, nothing. I left with no food and a wasted lunch hour. This restaurant clearly may be overwhelmed with orders and understaffed but the wait time for food is truly unacceptable. read more

This is a new spot so I wanted to give them an opportunity to work out the kinks but it seems like that they are struggling to improve their operations. All of the food from the smoker that I have ordered has been delicious. The sides are just average. The problem here is customer service and communication. Wait times are excessive. Even when you order online or by phone the pick up times quoted are never accurate. The staff members are not friendly and they don't provide any updates regarding your order. read more

We had ribs, brisket, fried chicken, Mac cheese , sweet potatoes and baked beans. All the food was good the best was the ribs and brisket. Portions was a good size. From 2 combo meals fed us with some leftover. The young lady that help me gets an A+ for customer service. The Ambiance needs some work but they are on the right path. Also the cost was competitive. We will definitely go again. read more

Try their barbecue sandwich with the homemade coleslaw. Outstanding The ribs and the brisket is outstanding. The sides are great. I had the pork beans, coleslaw and green. You have to get there early or call because they do sell out of stuff. read more

The food was good however, I ordered online and my food wasn't ready until an hour after the promised time.

Food is amazing!! I haven't tried anything I don't like. The prices are reasonable and you get large portions. Its enough for leftovers.

Opened close to me and I've ordered from this place at least twice a month. Well worth it.

Tried going 3 times with no success. 1st time the cashier said we were sold out of ribs, chicken, mac and cheese, greens and pulled pork and this was at 2pm. The second time no ribs were available. Finally today I walked in at 1:55pm and they said it would be an hour wait. I am not sure if this place should be open if they do not have the staff or food available to open to the public. Rolling ribs here I come. read more

Everything WENT WELL, Im addicted to the ribs, brisket, sweet potatoes and the kale. The food is delicious and seasoned well.

First things first the food is AMAZING! I came with wife and kids and was greeted with great service, with a nice lady at the front who helped us decide our order. We order a full rack of ribs, sliced brisket and sides of mac and cheese, kale and baked beans. The ribs and brisket were juicy and perfectly fell apart. The sides were great additions to the order as they added flavor and filled us up. Hoping they start bringing deserts to the menu soon. PLEASE check this place out and support this great BBQ spot! read more

The service needs to improve. Wait times are far too long. The food is good, but the menu is inconsistent.

You all straight up knocked it out of the park! Even though I left without my sauce, we didn't even miss it because the meat was so tender and flavorful! I wish you all the very best in this new endeavor! read more
