I came to the restaurant on a Wednesday morning around 11am. Order ribs , kale and Mac and cheese and was told my wait time was 30 min. I noticed the floor was very sticky, tables need to be wipe down, the front of the house needed to swept and mopped. They opened the door to the kitchen I saw a glimpse of the fryer. It was filthy! hood system, floor filthy.....But I must say I did receive my order and my ribs were ok, the Mac n cheese was ok but it was missing something, and the kales greens were good! I want to support this business in my area, but I would like to see a positive change of cleanliness in the restaurant a clean front of the house will speak volumes on what's going on in the back of the house. I stopped by because I was craving smoked wings, and I'm glad I did because the smoked wings were delicious! They had the perfect amount of seasoning and just the right kick without being overly spicy. I originally planned to order one of the meals because the pricing was very reasonable, but unfortunately, they were out of several of the sides I wanted. That was a little disappointing because I was really looking forward to trying them. If you're ordering smoked wings, be prepared for a wait. I was told there is about a 40-minute wait, so I would recommend ordering online ahead of time if you don't want to sit around waiting. As far as the service, the young lady taking orders wasn't particularly welcoming. She wasn't rude or disrespectful, but she also didn't make me feel especially welcomed as a customer. The ambiance was just okay--nothing that really stood out to me. There was also an issue with our catfish order. After waiting the 40 minutes, the young man from the back came out and explained that he had accidentally burnt the catfish and needed to cook another piece. I was definitely a little annoyed after already waiting that long, but I actually appreciated that he came out, explained what happened, and did not serve us burnt food. That honesty made a difference. Getting burnt food after waiting 40 minutes would have completely changed this review! Overall, I would definitely return for the smoked wings. The smoked wings were fall off the bone tender but they could have used a little bit more seasoning. The brisket was equally tender: It was hard to pick it up without it falling apart. Really good brisket. Generous portions too. The barbecue sauce they use is mustard-based. A little different than what I'm used to but not bad. Definitely more tangy than I expected. The macaroni and cheese was decent but again, it was missing something. The candied sweet potatoes were really good... A little sweet to break up all of the savory. The restaurant itself is really nice looking inside. Lots of tables and even a bar top with a few chairs. They had that AC cranking in there, and it was comfortably cool inside. I'm honestly extremely disappointed with the customer service I've received, especially because my boyfriend and I have been ordering from this restaurant every single week. Two weeks ago, I placed an order that included three large items, and when my order arrived, two of the items were completely missing. I called immediately to let them know, and I was told they were very sorry and that I would receive a refund for the missing items. I never received that refund. I called multiple times throughout the week trying to get this resolved. It was extremely difficult to even get someone on the phone. When I finally did, I was told a manager would call me back. No manager ever called. Because I still needed the food, I ended up having to place another order and pay again, while still never receiving the refund I was promised. The following week, when I was getting ready to place another order, I called again and explained everything. I was told that they were sorry for everything I had gone through and that if I called back the following week before placing my order, they would be able to compensate me for the missing items and the inconvenience. I called today, and now I'm being told there is nothing they can do and that they don't know why I was given that information in the first place. This is incredibly frustrating. Mistakes happen -- I completely understand that. What is unacceptable is being repeatedly given the runaround, being promised a refund that never came, being told a manager would contact me and never hearing from them, and then being told something completely different when I follow up. We genuinely enjoyed ordering from this restaurant every week, which is what makes this even more disappointing. At this point, the poor customer service has completely changed my opinion of the business, and I no longer feel comfortable continuing to order from a place that handles customer issues this way. I stopped here on Sunday afternoon for carry out. I highly advise people patronizing this establishment to call your orders in ahead of time or you will have to wait. It comes with two sides, so I got macaroni and cheese and the kale greens. It comes with barbecue sauce. I wasn't sure which one to pick so I didn't select one, but you definitely can if you have a preference for one. To the food... The smoked chicken was so good. The combo comes with a quarter of a chicken and I got white meat. The breast wasn't dry, the chicken itself was well seasoned, and the meat paired well with the barbecue sauce that was provided. The brisket was a little dry and to me didn't complement well with the sauce, but I would be willing to try it with one of the other sauces to see if one of those complement it better. The macaroni and cheese was good. Perfectly seasoned and cheesy. So I went to this place yesterday and it was an hour wait for everything, I was too hungry so I left with the intentions of coming back. I didn't know it would be the very next day. But one thing I noticed both times was the atmosphere or should I say lack of it. The energy is very low vibrational and the with the black walls and aesthetics it's very mundane. The second day I called my order in and I liked they gave me an exact time to pick up my order. The sausage was very good and had a nice snap, do wish they had some heat or spice element in it though. The place is clearly in early stages of development. The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful addressing our questions. There were tables for indoor dining, however it was cold and to me would have been uncomfortable dining ing. We waited for our order in the car. Heard about this place on Facebook and decided it give it a try. Walk in the restaurant and was immediately greeted by 2 women who were nice and courteous. I just want to let anyone who read my review to know that this place doesn't accept cash. So must order online or have your credit card ready. The inside of the restaurant is nice with a large siting and eating area. Now let's get to the food. I ordered a lot of food so let's get started. The ribs were delicious you can eat them with or without barbecue sauce. The brisket wasn't my favorite had brisket many times over and it doesn't compare to Texas brisket no dark bark and was a little dry and very thinly sliced. The sausage was delicious as well as the smoked wings. The barbecue sauce is really not need as it was well seasoned. The sides were okay, I didn't really care for the greens they were too sweet for my liking. The sweet potatoes were delicious and the fries were good as well.
