Even though there was about a 40 minute wait, the food is made to order. The food wound up being very good, smoky, flavorful and the Mac and cheese was very cheesey!

I stopped here on Sunday afternoon for carry out. I highly advise people patronizing this establishment to call your orders in ahead of time or you will have to wait. Also be mindful that they may run out of a certain item. The woman taking my order was very pleasant and helpful as well as the other stuff that I interacted with. The spot has plenty of seating if you choose to dine in. They are also in the process of setting up a bar area to expand their offerings. I ordered the two meat combo with smoked chicken and brisket. It comes with two sides, so I got macaroni and cheese and the kale greens. It comes with barbecue sauce. I wasn't sure which one to pick so I didn't select one, but you definitely can if you have a preference for one. To the food... The smoked chicken was so good. The combo comes with a quarter of a chicken and I got white meat. The breast wasn't dry, the chicken itself was well seasoned, and the meat paired well with the barbecue sauce that was provided. The brisket was a little dry and to me didn't complement well with the sauce, but I would be willing to try it with one of the other sauces to see if one of those complement it better. The macaroni and cheese was good. Perfectly seasoned and cheesy. The kale greens were sweet, which I wasn't prepared for as I prefer mine savory, but if sweet is what you like you'll definitely find it here. The green themselves or tender and well cooked. I will definitely be back again for the smoked chicken as I want to try some of the other sides, the smoked wings, as well as the cornbread.

Baked beans very plain, potato salad with peppers not that good to me, not use to peppers, and coleslaw very good.

Great space! The staff is nice. It's younger gentleman at the counter and they were very pleasant. I ordered "THE PITBOSS COMBO". Double ribs and brisket with 3 sides - potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw. Ribs were very tasty. The potato salad color was light orange which through me off, it had peppers in it, which over powered the taste. It was just okay, not sure i would order it again. I'm just used to old fashioned potato salad with onions, celery, or celery seed, mayo, mustard, with or without egg. Again, if you prefer peppers in your potato salad you will enjoy it. The baked beans were just okay,no onion or green peppers, and just a little brown sugar. They just tasted like it had simmered on the stove top, and not extra ingredients added. A little disappointing. The coleslaw was the best of the 3 sides. A little spicy (might be too much pepper), but very good - definitely would recommend the slaw. I previously saw the comments about the wait, but we actually did wait long maybe 15mins if that. I will definitely be back.

2 meat combo: smoked chicken and sausage with mac and cheese and greens

So I went to this place yesterday and it was an hour wait for everything, I was too hungry so I left with the intentions of coming back. I didn't know it would be the very next day. But one thing I noticed both times was the atmosphere or should I say lack of it. The energy is very low vibrational and the with the black walls and aesthetics it's very mundane. The second day I called my order in and I liked they gave me an exact time to pick up my order. I ordered the 2 meat platter: with smoked chicken, smoked sausage with sides of mac and cheese and greens. The sausage was very good and had a nice snap, do wish they had some heat or spice element in it though. The chicken was amazing especially with the house bbq sauce and I'm usually not a fan of bbq sauce. The Mac was decent standard Mac, but to me by far the worst thing were the greens. They had a weird, almost sweet taste to them. But other than that the food was pretty good, I'm definitely interested in trying the wings.

We decided to checkout pit stop for our football food. The place is open on Sunday at 11 am. I would highly recommend ordering ahead- we arrived about 12:30, and had a 30 minute wait. The place is clearly in early stages of development. The staff were pleasant, friendly and helpful addressing our questions. There were tables for indoor dining, however it was cold and to me would have been uncomfortable dining ing. We waited for our order in the car. We ordered the three meat combo, chicken, ribs, and brisket, with Mac and cheese, baked beans, and kale greens. The brisket, outstanding, the chicken flavor down to the bone, and the ribs. The ribs had a residual taste of starter fluid...however, my bride stated absent the residual taste, they were well done. The mac and cheese definitely did not get enough!!! The greens were flavorful. However, tasted a bit of grit in the greens. Would definitely do it again...room for improvement. Recommend continued community support.

We came here for lunch/dinner and we got two orders of the 3 meat/3 side combo. The service was friendly and fast and it's nice and inviting inside. It's a decent amount of seats to eat in, but you can carry out as well. Will update once we try everything out. Update: every single thing we had was delicious. Some of the best food I've ever tasted.

They're usually closed the days that I'm in the Upper Marlboro area, but not this time! It's in the same Plaza as the Amish market, so there's plenty of parking. Otherwise, it's a small open space and there are desserts on display, I'm in you to read, and very polite staff behind the counter. I decided to get the blackened salmon and shrimp entree with collard greens and mac and cheese. I got their salts at caramel banana pudding for dessert. I decided to use my insulated bag and wait until I got to my friend's house to eat. I love the shrimp and the salmon. They were seasoned well, but not to a point of tasting too salty, which can happen at a lot of soul food restaurants for me. Unfortunately, despite the good flavor, this was the case with the collard greens, whew. Also, there is turkey in there, so don't get it as a vegetarian option! The mac and cheese was good... Not sure where I would put it in my rankings, but I enjoyed it. That banana pudding.... Whoa. It was the perfect dessert, and I would happily get it again. The salted caramel and banana balance surprisingly well. Their top rankings are well deserved, and I am looking forward to trying their wings and other items next time!

Period…read more I've been seeing this place all over social media, so when I found myself in the area, I had to see what the hype was about. First off, parking is easy. It's in a shopping center, so nothing stressful there, and the restaurant itself is easy to spot. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how clean, polished, and classy everything looked. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if it was my first time which I appreciated. They didn't just rush me through the line; they actually took time to explain the menu, how the bowls are built, and offered samples. That alone made the experience feel welcoming and intentional. Now let's get into the FOOD. Everything looked fresh. They have about four rice options (which is already a win), and I went with the pineapple coconut rice. For my protein, I chose grilled chicken, but they also offer shrimp, salmon, and even a mushroom option for vegetarians and honestly, the mushrooms looked so good I almost switched. For my added sides, I kept it simple because I really wanted to taste everything. Collard greens and sweet potatoes. But they also had plantains, and okra....real deal soul food options. Then you get into the fresh toppings. Slaws, carrots, pickled veggies. I kept it light. I finished my bowl with collard green pesto (which intrigued me, and I'm glad I tried it) and added an étouffée sauce over my rice... and listen!!!!! That combo? Chef's kiss. I grabbed a tropical punch juice, and just like everything else, it tasted fresh and well-made. Let me say this clearly: the food is a 10/10. If you're someone who will give Chipotle chance after chance, then you absolutely owe it to yourself to try Spice Black. 10/10. Worth your money. Worth the hype. Worth the experience.

The restaurant is nicely decorated with vibrant colors and very clean. The service is friendly and welcoming. The food was okay. Not bad and just good in my opinion. This is still a good healthier option oppose to the many of terrible choices we have to choose from, this beats most unhealthy fast foods restaurants. For that reason I would return to try other food options. If you like chickpeas then this is your meal, Im not so it threw off the salad to me. I would have preferred chicken. Honestly, everything came together nicely as one salad, nothing was over powering. I'm just not a fan of chickpeas. They do have an option for shrimp but dont eat bottom feeders so that wasn't an option for me. My tastebuds are much different from yours so I would still give it a try. You might like it a little more than me. Its still a fairly good meal.

As this was an all day event, I started with a side of fries before the wine tasting. The fries were fresh, hot and crispy, but could have benefited from some salt and pepper if available. They were also $10, but other dishes were not ready yet, so not much choice. Later in the day, I got a smoked brisket combo with mac & cheese, and BBQ baked beans. It was a sunny summer day, so the outside temperature was in the low 90s...so inside the trailer (not a traditional food truck as in DC/VA as trailers are permitted in MD), the temperature had to be well over 100. Definitely feel for the staff, but they served orders with a smile. The combo itself was good - with promise of greatness - but not quite there. First, the mac & cheese - cheesy with soft macaroni pasta as you should expect . It had the right consistency and flavor balance without too much salt of cheese flavor. Second, the beans - a medley of beans, peppers, onions and homemade BBQ sauce...sweet, mildly spicy with a vinegar base. Finally, the brisket - cooked to perfection, but lacking any flavor from the dry rub. Paired with the homemade BBQ sauce, it was damn good...but just okay without. The disappointing aspect being that the meat was not even warm. With an outside temperature in the 90s, I would have expected something above room temperature...but okay.
