Best reliable wing spot in the area! Food: 8/10 - I tried quite a few flavors from ABW and none of the disappoint. I went with the 5pc honey garlic flavor this time and love them. The only thing is I don't think they actually season the chicken it's more flavor from the sauce itself. It took about 15 mins for my wings. I did ask them to make them crispy and they gave me exactly what I've asked for. Service & Vibes: 7/10 - Service is just ok but it's the typical for this area... nothing spectacular or bad. I came to this place to place an order of a wrap and a 5 wing combo, I asked for 2 ranch dressings for the wings. They said they ONLY give out 1 and you have to pay extra for anything else. I asked, "what's the size of the 1 you'll are giving". He said, "it's small". I asked, "does that logically make sense if 1 doesn't cover all 5". He said, "I don't know". I STRONGLY suggest not coming to this location and either going to the Ledo's next door. While I am familiar with the wings, I know the sides and how they are prepared vary by location. Fried okra was crispy with thick coating (not like Largo's location though), onion rings were thick steak cut and the hush puppies were official -- golden with bits of corn. The wings are a nice size and the flavors are amazing. I also got a small salad and it was a nice size when I took it out the container and it had a nice amount of toppings. I would suggest more than one dressing seeing as though the salad expands once you try putting it on a plate. I have had problems with my orders and them not reading the ticket correctly and getting the proper amount of sauces for the amount of wings I get. Located in the Marlow Heights shopping center where Quiznos was. This place is great for different flavors of wing sauces. The guys are always nice and willing to accommodate you. I've tried the wing and a steak and cheese. My husband had the chicken sub and had to take it back once because it was too salty. They were really cool about redoing his order with no salt/seasonings. Call ahead, if ordering on a Friday or Saturday night. They are extremely busy after 6pm on both nights. This is one of the worst America's Best Wings locations in the DC area. I had visited practically all of the ABW locations in the DC area except this one. I don't mind going to different locations because I usually can count on their consistency. This Marlow Heights location, however, seems to be one of the worst from the service to the food. I know that this is just a wing spot, so expectations are already pretty low, but even considering the low expectations, this location of ABW is not worth eating at. I arrived and the cashier ignored me for a while as he played on his phone. After he finally took my order, their credit card machine malfunctioned so it took forever for my order to be rung up. I ordered the 10 pc wings combo and a piece of lemon cake. Although there was only one order ahead of me, it took 15 minutes for my food to be prepared. It was very confusing. Once I got my food, I noticed that there were no celery sticks that usually come with wings. There were just wings and fries. The fries were soggy. The wings tasted fine, but the food seemed rushed despite the fact that it took them forever to prepare it. The ketchup tasted spoiled. The soda from their machine tasted watered down and it produced more bubbles than soda. Also, the lemon cake that I ordered barely had any icing on it. You could see the cake though the icing and it looked more like a glaze than icing. Do not go here. Go to other ABW locations where the cashiers are attentive, celery is included in your order, the ketchup is not spoiled, the soda machines work fine, and you'll get cake with icing on it. Yeah, the first review: it better be good. The menu is substantial, but it has the feel of a typical wing joint place. There are whole wings, fish platters, fried shrimp combos, and various subs. I opted for the 10 wing combo. It comes with fries and a fountain drink. With tax, it was $ 9.54. Everything was fried well. I got the two sauces (comp) on the side - the sweet chili and hot. I did a call in order, and the person on the phone wasn't unpleasant, but they weren't super welcoming. After placing my order, I walked in. Although the young lady wasn't helping me, she was very loud and obnoxious. It struck as interesting that I didn't get a "May I help you?", but her male customers were getting lots of attention. I did online ordering and was told that my meal would be ready in 23 minutes. 8:05 pm to 8:28 pm. I went into the restaurant to pick up my order at 8:29 pm, one of the guys vehind the counter told me it will be ready in 2 minutes. I gave them the benifit of a doubt and waited. However, I will fault this particular location for the time that it takes for them to put out orders. Every time that I've been to this location, the food has taken ages to come out of the kitchen. Not pleased with the product. Ordered 50 wings. They were over seasoned and over cooked. I called to complain and was told that they will replace ONLY what has not been eaten. This store has the WORST customer service!! The manager and store workers are RUDE and VERY IGNORANT!!! The chicken is hard as a brick and they don't give a darn about how they speak to customers. I am excited, smells good looks good. Until I discover they sent coleslaw instead of my side dish I order and paid for. I call and let them know, the girl say.....oh, yeah we don't have potato salad.....I said, ummmm okay, its on your menu. She says yeah we don't have it today- so why didn't anyone call and inform me of this and assume I wanted coleslaw as a substitute. She says well its extra for a different side, yeah i know that is why I paid the .40 cent difference for my potato salad instead of fries. Again why didn't anyone call and give me a option to choose different. No answer, just yeah sorry we don't have potato salad, so I asked for the manager, he's rude and arrogant. So my friend and I were hungry after bible study and I am against fast food at this point in life so American Best Wings it was. I am Pescatarian so of course I immediately went for the seafood section. I wasn't feeling fish so I got the grilled shrimp wrap in a spinach tortilla combo which came with fries and I opted for a bottle water. Of course my friend got him a solid 20 piece wings which was split up between Lemon Pepper and Honey BBQ. His wings looked so good but I'm not fooling with no flesh lol. He said his wings were really good so one customer satisfied and one to go. The grilled shrimp wrap was really good, it had light mayo, ketchup, grilled onions, tomatoes, and lettuce on it. The shrimp were lemon pepper flavor which was a really nice kick. Now I wanted to try the 24k sauce so bad, so I asked for that sauce on the side. I made sure chicken wasn't rolled around in the sauce before I asked for it though, lol. The sauce was really good, as I dipped my fries in it one after one lol.
