It's in the same Plaza as the Amish market, so there's plenty of parking. I stepped inside and there were a couple of chairs for waiting along the window. Otherwise, it's a small open space and there are desserts on display, I'm in you to read, and very polite staff behind the counter. I decided to get the blackened salmon and shrimp entree with collard greens and mac and cheese. I got their salts at caramel banana pudding for dessert. I decided to use my insulated bag and wait until I got to my friend's house to eat. I love the shrimp and the salmon. They were seasoned well, but not to a point of tasting too salty, which can happen at a lot of soul food restaurants for me. Unfortunately, despite the good flavor, this was the case with the collard greens, whew. Also, there is turkey in there, so don't get it as a vegetarian option! The mac and cheese was good... Not sure where I would put it in my rankings, but I enjoyed it. That banana pudding.... Whoa. It was the perfect dessert, and I would happily get it again. The salted caramel and banana balance surprisingly well. Their top rankings are well deserved, and I am looking forward to trying their wings and other items next time!

As soon as I got the food into the apt and opened the box, the apt was immediately filled with the most delicious smell!! Everything was wonderful. Catfish seasoned and fried to perfection. And the baked beans were AMAZING! I usually don't eat baked beans because I find most to be too sweet (I know, I know, that's the point of them, right lol). But these were amazing. They had a good amount of sweetness, but also a bit of vinegar to cut through. Loved them! My husband enjoyed his ribs and the mac. I don't eat dairy (I know), but I sampled the mac and the smoke flavor was divine! They were perfectly cheesy for me. My husband said he wished they were cheesier, but still enjoyed them. Oh! As this was an all day event, I started with a side of fries before the wine tasting. The fries were fresh, hot and crispy, but could have benefited from some salt and pepper if available. They were also $10, but other dishes were not ready yet, so not much choice. Later in the day, I got a smoked brisket combo with mac & cheese, and BBQ baked beans. It was a sunny summer day, so the outside temperature was in the low 90s...so inside the trailer (not a traditional food truck as in DC/VA as trailers are permitted in MD), the temperature had to be well over 100. Definitely feel for the staff, but they served orders with a smile. The combo itself was good - with promise of greatness - but not quite there. First, the mac & cheese - cheesy with soft macaroni pasta as you should expect . It had the right consistency and flavor balance without too much salt of cheese flavor. Second, the beans - a medley of beans, peppers, onions and homemade BBQ sauce...sweet, mildly spicy with a vinegar base. Finally, the brisket - cooked to perfection, but lacking any flavor from the dry rub. Paired with the homemade BBQ sauce, it was damn good...but just okay without. The disappointing aspect being that the meat was not even warm. With an outside temperature in the 90s, I would have expected something above room temperature...but okay.
