Wow, what a fantastic trip (26th Dec 2022). Our tour guide was really knowledgeable and friendly. Really chilled out and relaxed. Pick up/drop off: Very prompt. No issues at all. Vehicle: Comfy, large and air conditioned with high wide and clean windows to look out of. Tour guide: Very knowledgeable and easy to get on with. Answered all our questions whilst providing lots of information which was great. Took our food orders (for our lunch time) and made sure we were all served correctly. Sights: Loads to see with regular stops. Have a look at the itinerary as lots to get excited about. Plenty of opportunities for photos. You will get the time to go swimming so make sure you take your swim outfit and towel. The changing facilities (at Turtle Bay) is NOT good (not the tour guides fault) as there are toilets (single cubicle for males) that you change in and it's not very clean so perhaps just dry your top/change it and wrap a towel around your bottom 1/2 as you will dry out in the heat/sun. Overall: If your first time visiting Oahu this is recommended as it will give you a wide knowledge of places to visit during the rest of your stay. This is a good thing as we planned to go back to some areas and we used this is a baseline to know if it was worth a second visit. For example the Dole plantation we went back to another day as it was so good there. The dole ice cream itself was lovely but be prepared for really long queues! We made some friends on this trip as well (seen them back in the UK since we've been back) which was nice and we met them up in the evenings in Oahu (including New Years Eve) which was nice. read more

I chose The Pineapple Exp because they offer to pick you up and take you back to where you are staying. Communication with them was impeccable. My driver/tour guide (Anna) was very punctual, and I appreciated that she texted me to notify me that she was on her way to pick me up. Although the tour started very early, Anna was enthusiastic and energetic to the max. She has the personality and skills to deal with tourists (patience, consideration, politeness, kindness, respect, accommodating). She has a vast amount of information about the history of the island. Either eat breakfast before you leave the hotel or take something to eat on the bus because the stop for lunch is about 1:00 pm. I didn't enjoy the food where we stopped because the menu was limited and there was no real Hawaiian food option. At most of the stops, there is a long line for everything, and you have to be in a rush to get back to the bus. I recommend decreasing the length of the stops at the Looks Out and extending the time (30 minutes) at the places where there is an opportunity to purchase something and use the restroom. Also, consider stopping for brunch (11:00 am-12:00 pm) so food can be digested before the next stop at the beach where snorkelling is an option. As a Solo traveller, I was the co-pilot and enjoyed the view from the front seat. Plus, I loved the surprise at the last stop! read more

I had a great time on the Pineapple Exp Circle Island Tour. Our driver/guide, Ryan, is also the owner of the company and he was very friendly, knowledgeable about Hawai'i, and helpful all day long. He learned all of our names and really made an effort to get to know us and help everyone feel comfortable. Every spot was amazing and worth a visit, including the snorkeling at beautiful Turtle Bay. Ryan explained that Pineapple Exp is a small, locally owned company and he is really trying to do right by his staff and the local communities impacted by tourism on Oahu, as well as give his guests the best experience possible. Great experience and I highly recommend it! It's also a very good value for an all day experience that includes entry tickets to the Byodo-In Temple, the use of snorkeling gear, and a delicious Dole Royal Hawaiian pineapple, which tastes so much better than the pineapples we get on the mainland. I noticed that some of the other reviewers thought the vehicle was cramped and uncomfortable for an all day tour, but this was not my experience at all. We were in more of a mini-bus than a van, and our group of 13 fit just fine. I'm so glad I chose this over a large coach tour. If you have limited time on Oahu and don't want to rent a car yourself to see the main sights on the island, do this tour! read more

My daughter and I decided to book for the 10 stop tour of Oahu with Pineapple EXP. We didn't expect too much because I figured that with a commentator driving us around to places for an entire day, this alone justifies the price paid. Our tour guide, Pineapple Ryan, picked us up in front of our hotel promptly at 7:20am. There were only 12 people on the tour, so we were able to arrive and leave quicker to all of the destinations. As we leave one to move on to the next, we see a wave of vans and tourists flowing in. We saved so much time waiting in line and were able to capture and enjoy beautiful sceneries with less crowd. Ryan memorized everyone's name within the 1st hour, and made great efforts to chat with each individual group at each stopping point. It was a long day and many of us fell asleep from time to time on the van, yet each time I'd wake up to the sound of Ryan talking away , sharing his life experiences on the island. He continuously played great music to entertain, making a 10 hour tour time go by faster than we'd thought it would be. Energetic and humorous guide like Ryan makes all the difference! Anyone first-timers to Oahu? Take this trip as it will definitely be worth your time. read more

Where to start? When Leonani first showed up for pickup, my wife and I chuckled at how young she was. To be honest we were a bit concerned. SHAME ON US! This young lady was incredible! While talking about the culture and lore of the island, she drove like a pro, would interrupt her own storytelling to point out various points of interest, and then without missing a beat... would start right back into the storytelling! She was knowledgeable about not just the history and culture but also current events. She never lost her smile, joy, or enthusiasm. Just an incredible guide! As a reference, the next day we did a tour to Pearl Harbor and Honolulu. The guide, with a different company, was our age, 50-60, and mentioned similar things that Leonani had mentioned. The difference was clear. He did not sound confident and the information he gave lacked the lore/ culture we had just experienced. In fact, due to what we had learned the previous day, we helped our group learn even more. MAHALO to Pineapple Express and especially to Leonani for destroying our preconceived expectations! STRONGLY recommend this tour!! read more

For the price is it well worth the experience. There was only 2 other individuals on the tour with us which made things super easy. The tour guide was great and informative and not in a boring way. We had plenty of time at each stop and lunch was at a good time so we didn't have to worry about getting hungry. The other couple on the tour had double booked their day and tried getting the tour shortened but thankfully the tour guide wasn't going to do that so we still got to see everything and enjoy the day. We did this tour at the start of our vacation so we were able to pin point some things to checkout later in the week since we were able to see or pass by a ton of cool spots on the island. I would recommend this tour because there are less people compared to the big tour busses we would see entering the areas each time as we were just leaving them. Everything that was in the description we got to do. We even got the chance to see a sea turtle in the water with us as we snorkeled along with a ton of fish. read more

We had the absolute pleasure of touring Hawaii for the first time, and our experience wouldn't have been the same without our amazing tour guide TYRONE. From the moment we met, he made us feel welcome, informed, and completely at ease. His deep knowledge of Hawaiian history, culture, and hidden gems gave us a much richer understanding of the islands than we ever expected. he was not only incredibly informative but also friendly, patient, and organized--making sure everything ran smoothly while still allowing us time to explore and soak in the beauty of each stop. Whether it was the breathtaking viewpoints, the local food recommendations, or the fascinating cultural stories, every part of the tour felt personal and memorable. Thanks to our guide, Hawaii felt more than just a vacation destination--it felt like an adventure full of meaning and connection. Highly recommend to anyone visiting for the first time (or even the tenth!). THANK YOU TYRONE read more

We had such a wonderful time on this circle island tour. Our driver had great stories, historical background information, and created an almost familial like tour that you don't get with the larger tours on busses. By the end of the day, it felt like we all knew one another and were one big Ohana. I have a large amount of anxiety on highways coupled with fear of heights. I appreciate that the driver didn't add to this because I felt his driving style was not too conservative but also, not overly aggressive. Gifting us all with a pineapple was a nice ending for the tour. In addition, I also appreciated the time given to go in and do a little shopping at one of the stops, as I hadn't had that before on other tours. I've been to the island five times now so I've had frequent opportunities to experience this tour from different companies. We will definitely use them for the next island visit again. read more

Nikki, our guide, created an amazing, relaxed experience that captured the spirit of aloha more than any other tour my wife and I have ever taken, She told our small bus that we would be an Ohana (family) before the end of the day, and she was right! Nikki played curated music for us when we were not talking and she always invited questions and interaction! A remarkable circle island experience that started with a beautiful sunrise over the ocean and it just kept getting better. Nikki loves Oahu - she seems to love life - and we all had a great time! We've been on a lot of tours and this one is not to be missed. These folks have immersed themselves in the Hawaiian culture, even studying at university to strengthen their knowledge. We had a great time getting to know the island of Oahu via the Pineapple EXP and our excellent tour guide Hawaiian Ryan. He did a great job taking us all over the island and giving us a tour of the beautiful scenery along with many of the island's most famous sites. My kids are so excited to go home and tell their friends about the cave we explored and the lava mountains we climbed on our tour. The Dole whip at the plantation was delicious along with the shrimp we ate at Fumi's. A lot of the spots we hit we would not of known to stop at if it wasn't for Ryan. He planned a great itinerary but was still flexible enough to drop us by Leonard's Bakery for some malasadas at my wife's request. The tour was a really great value for the money, don't let the low price concern you as you won't be missing out on anything! read more

Our family had an unforgettable time on The Pineapple Circle Island Tour! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The tour covered so many breathtaking spots, giving us a well-rounded view of Hawaii's natural beauty and cultural highlights. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and engaged throughout the day. We loved learning about Hawaii's history, enjoying the stunning landscapes, and, of course, tasting the delicious pineapples! It was a fantastic way to explore the island and create lasting memories. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hawaii--it's perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers looking for an authentic and fun experience. read more

Could NOT ask for a better tour. Tyrone was awesome, made us laugh all day, and gave us a GREAT tour of the Island. It was a Very personable tour, as it was not a huge group of people. And they always keep it a personable size. We all got to know each other, and Tyrone - that it was an instant friendship and tour. The info and sights were great, and I could not ask for any better to experience Oahu. Will NEVER forget Space Force, Thailand Shrimp, Van Karaoke, Fox Hole attempts in a beautiful cliffside, Mai Tai, inconsideration by other tours, and the TONS of laughs!! Kudos!! (And I dont give those out often!!) Attach that pic at the Rainbow tree Tyrone!! Thank you to 3 couples fron Florida and 1 couple from North Caolina as well!! read more

The wife and I used the Pineapple Exp during our first trip to Waikiki, Leonani was our driver/tour guide. She called night before just to touch base on pickup time and pickup location, and she was early, waiting on us at 6:20AM (scheduled for 6:30), she picked up others at different locations, and then we were off. She is extremely knowledgeable, not to mention cute, during the day, she found out what everybody wanted, and ordered the lunches from a menu she had, (which we paid for), she made sure bathroom breaks as needed, helped with some photo's, she got my wife holding the sun, and if we comeback for another visit, I hope she will still be doing these tours .. Many thanks from Robert and Diane read more

Enjoyable history lessons, cheerful banter, and getting to see all over the island in a single day! We really enjoyed the stops for lunch & snacks to support local businesses that were well worth it. Tyrone's fun personality made the experience that much better too! Would definitely recommend to anyone! Do this on your first day so you have an idea of where to go for the rest of your stay. I couldn't be happier that I booked this tour! It was absolutely fabulous from start to finish. The amount of time at each of the 10 locations was pretty spot on. Our tour director, Trey was awesome; a veritable fountain of knowledge, personable, humorous, thoughtful & very responsible. Really delightful. They also limit the number of attendees to 14 which is a perfect size. I was the only American in the group which included Canadian, Australian, New Zealand & Germany; all lovely people! The lunch was yummy & the Dole Whip was the perfect & scrumptious ending. I'd do it again & highly recommend. Treat yourselves read more

Great tour and awesome people! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, but just before we finished it became obvious that there was a scheduling error and we would not make it back int time for our required Covid test to travel the next day. We mentioned it to the tour guide and a few minutes later the owner of the company was calling me to say that he was scheduling an Uber to come and get us so that we would make it back in time, and that he was going to reimburse us for the cost. The plan changed a bit, but we got to the facility in time and he did reimburse us for the extra transportation. Wonderful people! read more

Hawaiian Ryan was a wonderful guide, he's extremely personable and makes it fun right from pick-up! He's super knowledgeable about not only the specific stops and pass-by locations, but also other random spots along the tour! Ryan also is able to give local info as he is a local as well, which makes it feel even more awe-inspiring. Overall an amazing day, my friend and I had such a blast and knowing it's a family business made us even prouder to support! We absolutely recommend The Pineapple EXP for anyone looking for a well-rounded Oahu experience! -Calli & Rina read more

Tour Guide Nikki was awesome! she surprised us with first stop seeing sunrise, very knowledgeable about tour/area information, friendly including to offer taking our photos when clearly selfies was not working for us, and she kept us informed of tour schedule and was clear as to departure times at each stop. We would have really appreciated more time at Dole Plantation so we could go on train. We were in back seats and speaker system not always clear. Frequent bathroom breaks were appreciated. We were very pleased with our tour including price. Thank you! read more

This trip was recommended by our hotel concierge. It was an excellent & much enjoyable trip. Only in Hawaii for one week with 16 year old granddaughter and hoped to have a quick island day trip to keep granddaughter entertained and learn more about Hawaii. This trip did not disappoint. We both enjoyed this trip. It was a small group and Ryan was an excellent host. Every detail of the trip was explained well and even much extras...such as tea leaf stories. We were also given enough time for pics. Great food stops as well. And of course, will highly recommend. read more
