Soda Fountain

So nostalgic! The soda jerk of my childhood on the town square of Elsberry, MO. Get the special of the day and a malt!

Quick service. I had a BLT. Husband had the special that day. Roast beef. Great food and service. We'll be back.

Review Highlights - The Pickle Barrel

Chocolate malt was the real stuff that you remember from the 90's and made with chocolate ice cream not syrup on vanilla.

Casey's - It's hard to find beef jerky treats for my dog that do not have nitrites in them, but this brand had clean ingredients.

It was a long drive without a convenience store this morning from Louisiana Missouri to Elsberry…read moreMissouri - and I was really needing a cup of coffee. When I rolled into town, I saw the Shell station first and almost went there. But right next to it was a Casey's and I am a big fan of the Casey's chain, so the choice was obvious. Big city convenience stores have their breakfast sandwiches brought in by truck from some central distribution center, but Casey's always has a dedicated cook making up the pizzas and hot sandwiches on the spot. Samara in the kitchen was very sweet and helpful. When I told her that neither my dog nor I eat the bread on the breakfast sandwiches - and asked her what sandwich would have the most good innards - she recommended the breakfast burrito, which was quite delicious. Casey's stock the Naked brand juice drinks which I like quite a lot- and also an aloe juice drink which is comforting to my tummy. They also have their own brand coffee drinks and iced tea, which are cheaper than the big national brands and have excellent ingredients. I was also able to buy Casey's brand spring water and seltzer water, which we need for our camping. When I went to check out, I could not find my wallet in any of my many cold-weather pockets - and had to go back to my camper van to look for it. It's a new van and I don't have my habits down yet - and it took me forever to find my wallet. Angela at the checkout was very patient with my disorganization and did a great job. I also met a lot of very friendly people in the store. Casey's seems to attract nice people - and the people in this part of Missouri are generally quite nice anyway. If you do happen to find yourself in this part of Missouri, following the scenic Route 79 along the Mississippi River, I highly recommend this Casey's store.

Love gas station pizza and they never get greedy with toppings. Always a great experience inside…read morethe store regardless.
