Chris was so patient with me as I came in three days in a row to find the best piano for my need. He spent time showing me various pianos and educate me on how to pick out a good one and the mechanisms behind the pianos and the history. I appreciated all of that. He showed me the Casio and a few others amazing sounding ones like the Schimmels. He showed me the back room where they restored pianos to bring them back to like new conditions. The works are done in house daily, so it gives me the peace of mind on the quality of the reconditioned pianos. He was flexible to work with me on figuring out the delivery, the payment. The piano I got was not one of the expensive ones, but I got the same patient and kind treatment as a high end client. I'll treasure this piano and the experience I had at the Piano Empire Megastore. He wasn't joking about he had the largest selections of piano and the lowest price! The hybrid casio I got was $1000 lower than being sold online. If you need a new or used pianos, I would definitely recommend coming here first. I also had some amazing conversations with his associate, Rod, who was so kind and knowledgeable. We talked about pianos, God and Jesus and life. Lola, his piano craftsman helped to figure out how to transport my brand new in-box piano in my car. He was creative! Overall, they make a good, strong team. I wish them a lot of success and blessings.

They were extraordinarily helpful and responsive once the restoration began, and their commitment to getting everything right was impressive. I live in Northern California, and after the piano had been delivered home, John even worked with us by video call to track down and fix a minor problem that occurred during transport. The piano is now playing gloriously. Yes, the wait list is long. But when my turn came, communication with Brian and John was excellent. I had the full benefit of the team's attention, skill, craftsmanship, and artistry. It was worth every second of the wait. Artistry, craftsmanship, and care of this caliber are rare. Before I came in, I was mainly interested in the Roland digital piano HP704, so I called ahead to ask if they had it. I was honestly surprised when they said yes, because I worried they might just be saying that to get me to come in. But they really did have it. Not only did they have that model, but they also had several other Roland options, from more affordable models to higher-end ones. I even got to try a more expensive model that I had not known about before, and the sound and touch were much better than the one I was originally planning to get. I'm really glad I had the chance to try different models, because otherwise I might not have made the best choice. Sunny helped me with the sale, and she was very patient while I spent a long time trying out the pianos. Since I plan to play a digital piano at home with headphones, I took extra time testing the different models. I used the headphones they provided and played on my own for quite a while, and I really appreciated that she gave me the space to explore without making me feel rushed. I was also the only customer there at the time, so I may have had a bit more flexibility, but I still appreciated how comfortable and unpressured the experience felt. After the sale, Julia and Sunny also helped answer the other questions I had, and they were both very welcoming and kind. Being there made me feel so happy because I love pianos, and the atmosphere felt so cozy and welcoming.

With the distance and the variability in quality between instruments, I wasn't sure how I could realistically try multiple pianos without driving all over Southern California. Fortunately, Kim's Piano made the process incredibly easy. They have a huge inventory of Yamaha pianos, and I worked with Steve Rivera, who was responsive, knowledgeable, and very fair throughout. He helped me narrow down several strong options over email before I made the trip to their Stanton warehouse. When I finally went in, I brought along a piano technician to evaluate the instrument I selected. He was also impressed with both the quality of the piano and the breadth of their inventory. I ended up purchasing a 1971 Yamaha U3 that plays and looks like new. I couldn't be happier with the quality, value, and overall experience. Steve was patient and helpful every step of the way. I highly recommend Kim's Piano to anyone looking for a high-quality instrument at a fair price, backed by excellent service.

Given the neighborhood and the piano, the pricing felt opportunistic. I specifically requested a well temperament. He was unable to do it and did not appear familiar with the temperament systems I was referring to, so no tuning was performed. I literally sent him home with an article on temperament tuning to read. I also asked him to investigate a buzz. He removed the action, found nothing, and was unable to diagnose the problem. He then tried to charge me $200 for simply removing and reinstalling the action. We eventually settled on $120 for the 45 minutes he spent at my house. So, to summarize: no tuning, no diagnosis, and a $200 attempted charge for pulling an action. For someone with a serious instrument or specific musical requirements, I would look elsewhere.
