I am truly unhappy and very disappointed to say the least! I trusted David Hong with repairing my piano and this is the end result. I should have went with my gut feeling when he did not show me any proof of previous work on repairs that he's done. There are tons of black spray paint specs all over my keys. The repair was NOT sanded smoothly prior to paint as you can see in my photos. The top part is still a dent but painted over. This is not results of a professional. I will have to find someone else to clean up his mess! I would not recommend him to anyone and surprised at the review he has. read more

Super easy working with David. He was friendly and efficient and the piano sounds great!

In addition to a poor repair, the inspection process was not thorough. After showing the piano to another technician, he played the piano and immediately mentioned that the feel of the keys were off. He pointed out the bridle straps (cords) are all broken. We paid David $150 to inspect this preowned piano prior to purchase, as I have no knowledge on piano inspections. To my dismay, he didn't even catch this. Had he told us this, we could have used this information to negotiate the price of the piano down. Knowledge is power. He also charged a $115 tuning fee, tested the piano and didn't notice that the keys felt off and that the cords were all broken. For someone with so much experience and had two opportunities to inspect this piano, David didn't even tell us about the broken cords. The technician we hired mentioned this the first time he looked at the piano. He also noticed the pitch was off. This technician also pointed out that the serial number didn't look authentic to the issue date. The piano was manufactured at an older date than what was presented. The Yamaha logo in the front is a decal. None of this was mentioned during the $150 inspection. For a piano expert, we are surprised none of this was communicated. Complete fail on attention to detail. read more

This man completely failed to tune my piano. Not only that, but as the photo shows, he actually lost me a key. Absolutely no spring from this key after he left. First time he 'tuned', I heard no difference. He didn't even take the frame apart. The 2nd time David was a bit perturbed he had to return . I pointed out the problem and left him to his 'job'. No wonder bc he is not trained nor does he have a license. The piano was not out of tune to begin with. I just happen to maintain with a tune-up every other year. Now I will have to pay 3x the amount charged: $115.00 due to the 'damage' he created. I wouldnot recommend him. read more

Irvine Piano Tuning - You can clearly see the G has now fallen bellow the other jeys. This was not a problem when I requested a tuning - Piano Services Near Me - Irvine, California

Wonderful, professional piano tuning. Made our old piano sound amazing. So glad we found Irvine Piano Tuning.

David Hong is awesome. Literally analyzed the piano like a doctor analyzes his patients. He let me know the strings were out of tune and needed to be adjusted. He had a tool that went over each note, checking the sound. It was pretty cool to watch. He improved the quality as it was when it was first purchased. By the way, when he was playing music, I thought to myself, "Why isn't this man in the orchestra business in a show business for a whole world to see?!" He played so wonderfully that I was jaw dropped listening to such beautiful classical music. Literally a dreamscape beauty of a music! Anyways holla at him if you need your piano fixed! He's good and will bring value to your piano to another whole level! read more

David is an outstanding find. He is dependable, knowledgeable, and thorough at a competitive rates, I had him tune my piano and my piano students' pianos as well, and he tuned them all expertly--from upright to baby grand. He handled a piano that had not been tuned in over a decade and took care to adjust the pitch just enough without overstretching the strings. David clearly holds his work to the highest standard and treats your piano like his own. I will be calling on him from now on. read more

Great service and tuning. Piano sounds great, easy to communicate with, fair price. Definitely recommend.

I needed someone to fix a dead key. I needed it quick since my kids had their piano class the next day. Mr. Hong came in the morning, carefully took apart the piano, fixed the key and put it back together. I didn't think the piano needed tuning, but he serviced it anyway as part of his standard service. Overall the price was good and I would recommend Mr. Hong to others. read more

I found David on Yelp and I am so glad I did. I recently picked the piano back up and realized my piano was very out of tune. I called him and he had an available appointment in the next few days. He was very communicative, respectful and did a great job tuning. He texted me to confirm in the morning and he communicated his ETA. I will definitely be using him again to tune my piano. Highly recommend. Updated tuning price at my time was $150. Which I think is very fair based on the fact that he provided great service, extremely kind and the rising price of living and gas. :) read more

Mr. David Hong was quick to respond to my initial question and all subsequent questions. He was on time (a bit early even!) and did a wonderful job cleaning and tuning our baby grand piano. Very thorough cleaning job, inside and out. Our piano pitch was quite a bit low, it turns out, not having been tuned in quite a while. He will have to tune it gradually up to standard pitch over time rather than risk breaking the strings or damaging the frame. I respect his knowledge and caution! I have no hesitation to call on him again for future services. I fully recommend him to service your piano! read more
