I was looking for a used Yamaha U3 for our desert home in Rancho Mirage, but the logistics felt overwhelming. With the distance and the variability in quality between instruments, I wasn't sure how I could realistically try multiple pianos without driving all over Southern California. Fortunately, Kim's Piano made the process incredibly easy. They have a huge inventory of Yamaha pianos, and I worked with Steve Rivera, who was responsive, knowledgeable, and very fair throughout. He helped me narrow down several strong options over email before I made the trip to their Stanton warehouse. When I finally went in, I brought along a piano technician to evaluate the instrument I selected. He was also impressed with both the quality of the piano and the breadth of their inventory. I ended up purchasing a 1971 Yamaha U3 that plays and looks like new. I couldn't be happier with the quality, value, and overall experience. Steve was patient and helpful every step of the way. I highly recommend Kim's Piano to anyone looking for a high-quality instrument at a fair price, backed by excellent service. read more

I had such a positive experience with Ben in transporting my piano all the way from Northern California down to OC. Not only did they transport it safely but I also had Ben do some restoration and fixing of the piano because it had been left unplayed for years. The piano now looks and sounds great and is ready to be played by my daughter and wife. Thank you Ben for the excellent customer service! read more

I had the best time purchasing my Yamaha upright piano here! Peter and Remington made the whole experience absolutely flawless. The prices were completely reasonable for the top quality of the instruments they are selling. It's also been wonderful to watch my young children explore and enjoy playing music because of it being in the house. Plus, the delivery went perfectly, and the free tuning shortly after was a perfect cherry on top. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend them! read more

If I could give 6 stars I would! Thank you Kim's Piano for making our piano-buying experience absolutely perfect! Our point-person form the moment we walked in the store was Remington. Remington was friendly, knowledgeable, patient, professional, and encouraging every step of the way. He even answered all of my texts quickly! When it came time to purchase our stunning, both in sight and sound, used Shigeru Kawai SK2, both Benjamin and Remington made the process a pleasure. The in-store piano technician did a phenomenal job on voicing the piano to our taste and the delivery happened within the week! I can't say enough. Thank you again Kim's piano! I had the best experience at Kim's Piano. Peter went above and beyond to help me with the digital piano I purchased. He even delivered it himself the very next day. I love that this is a family company, and I will definitely be coming back in the future when I'm ready for an upgrade. read more

I LOVE Kim's. Family owned and operated for years and years, i was met with warmth and kindness and helped along the way on my purchase of a Piano. Benjamin was super knowledgeable and helped me find the perfect Kawaii in my price range. I got a ton of Piano and feel the value was unsurpassed. Then I got quite the unexpected surprise in a good way. Steve, a family member of the great Kim family, has been super responsive to any questions or needs. After a couple of weeks Steve came over to fine tune the piano. Since then I have needed some assistance in a bit more fine tuning due to settling. Sure enough, Steve came right over. I have a 5 year warranty on the piano. The staff as Kim's is super responsive, knowledgeable and down right good people to do business with. read more

Kim's Piano - My beautiful Kawai RX-5 - Piano Stores Near Me - Tustin, California

Peter and Benjamin spent QUALITY and PATIENT time with us for our first piano purchase. No pressure. Useful information. And went above and beyond to accommodate our situation. We expected a lot of sales games and tactics, but instead we feel like we made friends and built a long term relationship!! **we are not receiving any benefits from this review** read more

Our family went into the Tustin location and met with Benjamin Sunday morning for our first piano purchase. He was very accommodating and actually met us outside of their normal business hours. Benjamin spent over 2 hours with us. Since my husband and I have no music background, we had to ask Benjamin to demonstrate pieces for us. He obliged without any hesitation and actually voluntarily jumped back and forth between pianos to help us decide. He was not pushy, showed sincerity and had a lot of patience in helping us finding a model that fits our daughter and home. He offered suggestions on techniques and encouraged my daughter to take her time to explore and feel each piano. I highly recommend Kim's Piano store. They have great pricing and a large selection of uprights and grand pianos in store for you to try out. Appointments are also available at for their 3 locations. We ended up buying a Kawai grand piano and look forward to years of enjoyment listening to my daughter play. read more

I was working with Yuka by email to decide what piano would be best for me. When I was finally able to come in, she already had another appt. So I saw Steve, their piano tuner. He has an amazing knowledge of the Kawai piano I was interested in (and that Yuka had recommended). He was pleasant, fun to work with, and listened to my not so great piano playing. And what an inventory!! So I highly recommend Kim's Pianos. A family owned business and it shows. read more

Boston Baby Grand Piano - SOLD! With the decision to move out of California, the overhead of moving my baby grand piano was too much additional stress and I decided to sell it. I spoke with three different companies and it was a very easy decision to work with Benjamin at Kim's Piano. It was sad to say goodbye to a much loved piano, but Benjamin made the process very simple and stress free. The price offered was very reasonable. I know Benjamin will find the perfect home for my piano! Maybe it will be your home! And at some point in the future when I am in place where I can bring a new piano into my life, I will definitely work with Benjamin to find the right one... and maybe, it will be yours! read more

I am a piano teacher and I highly recommend this piano store to anyone who wants to upgrade their pianos or buying a new one. I am a professional pianist and composer and was in the market for my "forever piano." However, after three months of looking all over the country for my dream piano, I encountered unscrupulous piano salesman who would tell me a piano was 3 years old, but then, when I checked its serial number, it was really 23 years old. Frustrated and depressed, I was just about ready to give up my search when I stumbled upon Kim's Piano in California. From the very beginning, everyone I was introduced to was gracious, friendly, honest and extremely helpful in my search. The trio of Mr. Kim, Steve Rivera and Kristina put me at ease and assured me that they would find me my "forever piano." Since I live in New Mexico and they are in California, they sent me videos of multiple instruments and bent over backwards to get me a price that was within my budget. After a few weeks, I started working primarily with Steve Rivera, an excellent pianist and composer in his own right. He and I hit it off as we had so many things in common. In the end, he found me my piano for life; a Shigeru Kawai SK-3, 6'2" dream instrument. I flew out to Longbeach, CA and played the piano, met Steve in person, as well as MPA (Master Piano Artisan) Don Mannino who assessed the piano for me before I flew out to play the instrument. So, a huge thanks to Steve Rivera, Mr. Kim, Kristina, Don Mannino and Kerry McCoy (regional manager of Kawai USA who came to Kim's and tested out the pianos I was interested in) for making a stressful experience smooth as silk. I can't recommend them enough! read more

Steve Kim came to do the piano tuning this week. He was very thorough and great at his job. He explained to me know this piano worked and the components. As a bonus, he even played the piano for my family, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience from Kim's Piano. Support your local family owned businesses -) read more

the lady at the store was really helpful. we went to other piano places but felt more comfortable here. my son played on like every single piano and once we finally narrowed it down she was great working win our budget. we got the piano delivered the next day. we got it tuned the same week. my son was a bit upset we had to get a piano as he loved the old one for sentimental reasons. but he had definitely come around and accepted what he describes as "deeper and richer" sound. he now loves it. read more

As soon as I walked in, the staff was quick to assist me which was nice. However, after taking a look around, I noticed that their selection of pianos was very limited. I was informed that they only carry Kawai brand pianos, which was not exactly what I had in mind. When I told the gentleman I would prefer another brand, he quickly mentioned I should go to Costco instead and rushed me out of the shop. While price point wasn't an issue for me, I just happened to already know what I was looking for, so I felt a little judged. If you're an advanced concert piano player, you might be interested in the sale he was having, but otherwise I would recommend Jim's Music for a wider selection. read more

I live in Omaha and was looking for a Bechstein concert piano. Steve Rivera made that possible without even visiting Kim's piano store in California, all through the phone. This wouldn't happen without his amazing professionalism, customer focus, listening skills to what I was looking for, his full transparency. He never stopped providing follow ups on my piano shipment status and ensure that piano made it to my house safe and sound. Overall, an outstanding experience. Thank you also to Benjamin Kim and his team to making this happen! read more

Great customer service! I'm just learning how to play the piano again after 50 years and was concerned that there was something wrong with the pedals. I'm professional pianist and teacher. I've been looking for nice grand piano for a while. Benjamin Kim which is the manager was really helpful. You don't feel like he is trying to sell you his piano, but you really feel he wants genuinely to help you fulfill your artistic needs. He is great person, his knowledge about pianos is incredible. I am so excited that Kim's piano opened their store in Tustin! I highly recommend everyone to go to Kim's piano to find a great instrument for yourself, your kids and your students if you are a piano teacher. As a piano teacher myself, I always care about my students to have a great piano /Suitable piano for them to practice at home. I went to Kim's piano and spent a good 2 hours testing various kinds of pianos there to pick the right one ( I picked the Shigeru Kawai SK-2 which was handmade in Japan. It is a very beautiful piano in both sound and action.) My students are very happy about not only the quality of the piano but also the GREAT customer service at Kim's Piano. Delivery of the new piano went smoothly switching their old one to the brand new SK-2. Benjamin will help find a great piano for you! read more

You know the quality of a place when you ask for recommendations and everyone around you points you to the same place! Kim's Piano is one of those places! Everyone around me and my wife who don't know one another had recommend Kim's Piano and I know the reason why. Initially I had called asking about the possibility of repairing our existing Piano when Benjamin the owner gave me the number of his tuner/repairman it turned out to be his Uncle Steve who is my existing tuner. I know Mr. Steve as he is very knowledgeable about all Pianos. I take his word as bible as he's given me information and when I look it up it's exactly as he said. So I know that he's not the type of person to say anything to just make a sale. You can definitely tell this is a family owned and run business as they're on the same page with how they treat their customers. Which is as if you're a member of the family. Benjamin is as knowledgeable as Mr. Steve and will definitely take care of you. Truly if you're looking for a Piano trust Kim's Piano! read more

We have been in the market for a new piano for a few months and have gone to all the local piano shops. It was only Kim's, in particular Steve Rivera, who kept in contact with us constantly trying to find a piano that would work for us. Steve always texted me updates and really seemed invested in finding me a piano at a price that worked. Couldn't recommend him and this store enough. read more

We just had our piano tuned by Peter Kim of Kim's Piano. The original estimate was $100 which was fine. It was estimated that this would take 1 hour. When Mr. Kim arrived he indicated that our piano had not been tuned for a while and it needed a double tune. Not being experts on the matter we took him at his word. He went through a long explanation and also indicated that the double tune would take at least 1.5 hours and would cost $200. So Mr. Kim showed up at 3:00 PM and was ready to leave before 4:00 PM. Amazing is it not. He did 1.5 hours of work in 1 hour. As he was ready to leave I asked if he did everything he promised. He said our piano was a good one and that is why he got done so fast. So hold on an hour ago it was bad piano and now it is good. He knew I was mad and offered a $20 discount. I tell you all this and would highly recommend that you NOT bring Mr. Kim of Kim's Piano to tune your piano. I just feel like we got taken advantage of because we are trusting. On top of that he asked that the check be made out to his name which means that he will not report it as business income and it will be a cash call. If I could give a zero star I would. Hope this helps the next person. read more

Kim's Piano - Piano Stores Near Me - Tustin, California

I am now a very satisfied customer of Kim's Piano. Benjamin Kim met with me by appointment at his Tustin store where I played several pianos to my heart's content. He directed me to grand pianos that were most compatible with my playing style and ability. He was able to explain to me the mechanisms of the various pianos I inquired about until I narrowed my choices. I finally decided on the Shigeru Kawai SK-3 and found Ben easy to work with from selection to agreement on a price to final delivery for the piano in my home. I have now had the piano for a week and I'm extremely happy with it. I highly recommend Benjamin Kim at Kim's Piano for the purchase of a piano. read more

I was in the market to upgrade a 20 year-old upright piano to a grand piano. I reached out to Kim's Piano via their website in the late afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a very professional email from Steve Rivera with relevant information only a couple hours later. Steve, being a musician and a consumer himself, was very attentive to my needs and did not at any point try to upsell me. The whole purchase process was smooth and easy. I requested the silent system be added, and there was a delay in installation due to unforeseen reasons, but Steve made arrangements to accommodate my schedule due to my daughter's upcoming CM exam. Steve followed through throughout the whole process, including the silent system adjustments and piano tuning post delivery, and made sure I was 100% satisfied with my grand piano. The entire staff at Kim's piano was very respectful and courteous at all times. I would highly recommend Steve Rivera at Kim's Piano, to anyone who is in the market for a quality piano at a fair price. read more

I rarely write reviews because I don't come across a lot of businesses worthy of the effort. Today, I did, and I would give this business 10 stars if I can. It was a lifelong dream of mine to own a baby grand piano. I never lived in a residence big enough to fit one, until recently. I also never bought a piano, so I started the process feeling very intimidated. Fortunately, I came across Kim's Piano, and the fabulous Benjamin Kim. He walked me through the features of the pianos I was considering, helped me process all the information, and gave me a very good price for the piano I ultimately selected. He did all this in a very professional way, without any undue pressure just to make a sale. He assured me that with the piano I'm buying comes with the backing and support of his company that lasts more than the transaction. I believe him. I requested that the piano be delivered ASAP, and he said he was gong to make it happen tomorrow! =) When I walked out of his store today, I felt so confident about having purchased the best piano of my dreams. I can't wait to get it. read more
