    Philly Cheesesteak

Ordered a Philly Cheesesteak with onions and Cheese Whiz and it was so good. You can really tell they use authentic steak and fresh bread. The service was great and super friendly. I asked if they have a permanent location, and they move around to different spots and events all over South Florida -- places like Plantation, Wellington, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Jupiter, and Coral Springs. If you see them, don't skip the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls... they're

The Philly's House truck at Rock the Park

I have been to most of the Rock the Park events over the past 4-5 years; and I usually grab a meal at one of the food trucks. On my most recent visit there were about 10 different trucks, and there were many different options. After walking by them all; I finally decided to give The Philly's House a try. I ordered the original Philly steak, which was just $16. I saw that it came with mayonnaise, which I thought was rather odd. I asked the attendant at the window if Philly's usually had mayonnaise , and he said he had "no idea." I ordered it anyway, and it was ready in about 5 minutes. The bun tasted fresh and it was stuffed full of tender steak, green peppers, onions, and mozzarella cheese. (I guess it had mayo; but I didn't really taste it.). It was a little messy; but I enjoyed it. I only ate half because it was pretty filling. (I took the other half for lunch the next day; and I think it may have been even better when reheated!). The fries were good too, and there were plenty of them. I think the pricing is very reasonable; especially since my sandwich provided me with 2 meals. I really enjoyed my Philly cheesesteak sandwich from The Philly's House. I hope they'll be at future events because I look forward to trying some of their additional menu items: chicken Philly, burgers, barbecue sandwiches, and chicken tenders.

Every Wednesday we search Instagram to check if "The Philly's House" will be at the Volunteer Park in Plantation food truck event. If they are there slinging their famous cheese steaks then we go.  The owner is working hard but always has time to say hello. We always order the Philly Cheese Steak with grilled onions with a side of french fries. Im still unsure what seasoning he puts in these sandwiches but they are the best around. The truck event is open from 530p to 9p.  Usually families with their children and alot of pick up food and go.  The park event gets crowded after 7p and usually has live music and pavillion bathrooms on site.

We saw the big Jimmy Dean's food truck and noticed it had a bbq pulled pork sandwich on the menu. Xavier and Chef Jimmy Dean were working behind the grill in the truck and were super friendly guys. Jimmy gave me a small sample of the pulled pork per my request and it was crazy moist and tender. Now I knew I wanted the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw for $14.00. The food was fresh and ready within ten minues. We sat at a little table next to the food truck and dug into the pork sandwich - holy moly it was great. The coleslaw was coleslaw, but wow that sandwich with bbq sauce drizzle wedged between a soft bun was fabulous. They also have BBQ Angus Brisket and Mac & Cheese for $18.00. Definately coming back for the pulled pork sandwich next Wednesday. Jimmy Dean also has a respectable catering service.

Saw something on their menu that I couldn't get out of my mind. The brisket Philly. The Philly was loaded with tender Smokey brisket chunks, gooey cheese, red peppers and onions. Delish and hearty. The food truck is big (like a double size), black with yellow writing on it. The service was welcoming and friendly. Quick turn around on the food order. Fresh hot and yum. Didn't care for their side item selection. Found it strange they didn't offer fries. Got the mashed potatoes. Good but nothing special. Would have preferred fries with my sammie. They offer high end menu items with prices to match but based on the brisket Philly total worth it. Will definitely revisit them to try another menu item or two.
