I absolutely love the Pet Salon. I take my kitten every 4-6 weeks and he always comes out with a smile. He's never nervous or scared and is always wearing the cutest bandanas. I never worry about leaving him as I know he's in good hands. The work is top quality and he's always ready for pick up in less than 3 hours. The staff are polite, friendly and accommodating. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. This is absolutely absurd. I scheduled an appointment for my short haired cat at 11:00 am and they said it would take 2-3 hours, and if he had bad behavior possibly more. I agreed and dropped him off, I then called two hours later just to check on him and see if they new about how much longer he would take. They then proceeded to tell me that they were VERY BUSY and that they had 18 appointments scheduled today and that they WERE NOT EVEN ABLE TO START HIM YET. This means that my poor little cat has been locked up in a small crate for AT LEAST two hours. I am not even sure if he has a litter box and water. I haven't even picked him up yet (because they haven't even started him and he will possibly take a few more hours), but when I do, I am going to check him out and make sure that they did anything at all. His appointment was supposed to include a bath, brush, facial, nail trimming, and possibly a colored tail. They said they may not be able to do the tail because of HOW BUSY they are. Honestly, I am fine if they don't do the tail, but for all of this trouble, he better be the best looking cat I have ever seen. Keep in mind, this treatment was not a cheap one either. It was around $130 including the tail coloring. In short, this place has no idea what they are doing and I definitely won't be returning. I will post an update when we get him back. UPDATE: After around 4 1/2 hours, we finally got our fur baby back home. He did look pretty good after we got him back though. He was not a fan of his bath, facial, or the drying process, but they said overall he did good. They had to use an alternate drying process, so he did come back a little wet. After we got in the car with him, he was shaking quite a bit, so I could tell that he was definitely stressed out the whole time. He got his tail colored pink, and they did a kind of messy job. The pink was slightly patchy on his tail, and a little dye also got around his bum and paw too, but I don't really care about that. I understand that it is hard to get a cat to sit still long enough to dye their tail, so they did a pretty good job with that. Overall, I think the experience was just to overwhelming for him, so I don't know if I would do it again. It also was an all day event which I did not expect. I raised the star rating up to 3 stars because the owner was very nice about everything and even gave us 15% off of our final bill. So I guess my final say is that it takes long, is expensive, and is stressful for the animal even if things do work out in the end. read more

We have been taking our fur baby's to The Pet Salon for a long time and highly recommend them. First off, they always take their time to make sure that they find out precisely what services you want and how you would like your baby to look. Then, when you pick them up, if they missed anything, they take care of it right away. We love the report cards that they give that let you know how your baby did. They are consistent, loving, professional. On top of all of that, they are compassionate. Recently, we found out that one of our boys had cancer, which was terminal. On our next visit, we told the groomer, so she would know that he may be different. As she made notes in their system, we noticed that she had teared up, which showed to us that she loved him too. When we finally had to send him to the Rainbow Bridge, we called to cancel his next appointment. A few days later, we received a card can gift from the Salon, which brought light to our grief. We cannot give enough stars or thank the groomers and owners of The Pet Salon enough for all they do to help care for our fur babies. read more

I had an awful experience here. On both dropoff and pickup I was made to wait without being acknowledged while the shop owner talked to a colleague. When he finally did help me, he argued with me about the length of her hair because I didn't know an exact measurement of how long it should be. I said, "summer length, whatever you think," and he demanded that I give him an exact measurement to the inch of how long I wanted it. When I picked her up, it was barely cut at all and we had to get her groomed elsewhere just a few weeks later because she couldn't see. However, the worst part is that I was quoted around $60 for my labradoodle, and on pickup I was charged $90!!! They said she had matted fur around her ears that took them 45 minutes to cut, but she had just been groomed two months prior so that is questionable. We have had our labradoodle for years and have never been charged extra for matted fur--this is just part of what happens to a doodle between grooms other groomers include this in their base fee for this breed. My dog seemed very skittish on pickup and she was uncomfortable in her rear end for days afterwards, not sure what happened there but this has not been an issue with other groomers either. read more

I Had a wonderful experience for my two dogs at The Pet Salon! I took both of my dogs here today and received amazing service & wonderful grooming for both of my dogs! I am very protective and felt so comfortable leaving them their. I was running late dropping them off and they had no problem with still accommodating us. I loved how they has so many service options which I loved and their prices are great! When I picked up my dogs them did not feel scared and you could really tell that they were well taken care of! The last time I picked up my dog I felt attacked by the receptionist Amy, so she could let me know how awful my dog had been during the groom. She was unpleasant and very unfriendly. I have been taking my dog there since she's been a pup, and I know she does not not like it so we sedate her and she is only 14 lbs. Each time has been worse than the time before. I was happy to find that they are grooming cats again. They didn't have a cat groomer for a few years so I had to go quite a bit further for my fur baby's annual grooming. I think they did a great job of doing what I asked; thinning my cat's mane out as well as trimming her nails, cleaning her ears, bathing, drying and brushing her as well as doing a "sanitary" trim. My cat's fur is so silky! The receptionist was very friendly and the time estimated for my cat's grooming time was spot on...just shy of 3 hours. They texted me promptly when she was finished, which was perfect. When I arrived, they had already applied the discount of 10% to my bill as mentioned upon my initial arrival and one of the gentleman came out to insure my cat's mane was the way I wanted it and offered to trim it down more if I preferred. I was pleased with the trimming, so we were on our way. They also provide "report cards" after the grooming session so I know how she did, which I appreciate. It's a cute little touch and let's me know if there's anything I should be concerned with regarding her fur, skin, ears, nails and so forth. read more

This is my 3rd time at The Pet Salon and today will be my 3rd and final visit. In my experience the owner is an IDIOT who constantly tries to up sell grooming services to me, and does a horrible job! Just got home, inspected my dog's grooming, and I have found mats up against his skin a his nails are not clipped at all. Upon checking out I was charged for a full bath, brush out, defermination, nail trimming, and ear cleaning. They didn't even clean the sleepers out of his eyes! If I could give this place negative stars I would! After I brought my cat home from being groomed, I found razor cuts on his left ear. I contacted the manager and let him know that there appeared to be razor cuts on my cats ear, and the manager told me that there was no evidence that his groomers cut my cat. He showed no concern for the cats well being and suggested that the cat intentionally cut himself (not the groomer with the razor blade). Sure.... If that wasn't horrible enough, they applied what appears to be expired flee medication on his back. The expired flee medication caused painful chemical burns, and I had to seek medical treatment for my cat. I'm so upset that I took my animal to this place!! Not only was the cut and customer service poor....but my cat received physical injuries directly after being groomed at the Pet Salon. He is currently receiving medical treatment and TLC. Please don't take your pet to this groomer! Its not safe! read more

I have had my standard poodle groomed there a few times as a puppy. They did a pretty good job when I didn't want them to trim her except her paws and ears and around her face. Yesterday, I had them do a full groom and was expecting to come back to a puppy cut poodle. My poor dog looks like an idiot! They did not shave her face like I asked, but they did cut her ears and head short! Have they never seen how a poodle is supposed to be cut?! I would think that was grooming 101! My dog also appeared to have been given something to calm her down. I don't necessarily mind that, but I should be told. Horrible place. I have taken my dog, Rylee, to many groomers prior to The Pet Salon, and I can hands-down say that they have proven to give some of the best pet grooming services I've ever experienced. The staff is extremely friendly, and you can tell immediately that they truly do care for animals. They are extremely professional and knowledgeable as well. I've been returning for months now with Rylee, and I can say that they are very consistent in their work. They listen to how I would like Rylee cut, and deliver every time. THEY ABUSED MY DOG! DO NOT TAKE ANY ANIMAL THAT YOU LOVE HERE! My 22 pound Morkie was kept for 6 hours for his grooming appointment. All previous appointments (at this shop and others) have never exceeded 3 hours. My dog came home & immediately drank two bowls of water then slept next to his water bowl. I called the salon to ask if he was given water while he was there for 6 hours. Mike said they don't give dogs water unless an owner requests it for medical reasons. Mike was unapologetic and unconcerned. I asked why it took twice as many hours as usual to groom my dog. Mike first tried to deny that it was six hours. He said he was picked up at 2:50 p, when in fact the call wasn't placed telling me he's finished until 3:14 pm. Mike then changed his story and said it took that long because the salon was busy. I reminded Mike that my dog had an appointment and therefore shouldn't have been waiting for three hours. Their store policy promises that walk-ins are taken after appointments are finished. Mike said that the groomer we had is a perfectionist and takes a lot of time. I challenged Mike on that because my dog came home with chunks of fur that was missed on three different parts of his body. Mike said I could bring him back and they would take a look at it. I declined. I asked Mike to explain what those 6 hours looked like for my dog, considering that he came home with such excessive thirst and exhausted as he never had previously. Mike said he didn't have exact minutes of his time there. I told Mike that I had concerns that my dog was mistreated and/or neglected during his 6 hours based on his extreme thirst but also his demeanor upon getting home. My dog acted skittish and afraid, cowering any time we approach him. He was not the joyful, playful pup we dropped off. After 24 hours, he had yet to return to his usual happy, silly self. Mike said he didn't know what I was getting at. I asked him directly if my dog was handled roughly, was hurt in any way or experienced a trauma while there. Mike said he got a little rambunctious at the end while they cut his face and had to be restrained. My dog is a 22 pound Morkie. What is meant by "had to be restrained" ???? The grooming table with its cables, hooks, muzzle and leashes wasn't enough???? He's a lap dog who's been traumatized by cruel treatment by this groomer. This salon needs to be shut down. read more

I've been taking my miniature schnauzer here for a few years and they do a great job with her. She is disabled and they take very good care of her keeping that in mind. I've taken my dog in here twice for a walk in nail clipping and each time was fine.

AVOID! SCAM! FRAUD! I had taken my dog here 3 times in the past (for various reasons) and was always disappointed in the price (way too high). Tried to give them one last chance this yr by discussing my concerns about past visits and claifying the price and services thoroughly up front. I was told the services would take about 4 hrs and would cost $75.00 4.5 hrs later when I picked up my dog, they demanded $153.00 More than twice the agreed price! The owner's reason? "My employee made a mistake. It was more work than they expected." After expressing my displeasure I found that my only recourse is to file a civil case with small claims court. The employees did a fine job, but this place is a scam! I suggest that you find another place to have your pet cared for unless you like getting fleeced read more

This was our 2nd time trying the Pet Salon and we were not told up front how much our dogs cut would be (was nearly double what it was the first time we took him which was 3 months ago). When we got him back he had chunks of fur shaved off of his snout and several areas of matting throughout his body despite being charged almost $50 for additional dematting. We were told that we were not doing a good enough job of brushing our hair and this is what happens when dogs are "neglected". They became very defensive when we questioned why we weren't told how much it would be and instead suggested that we have him combed before we bring him next time. There will not be a next time. If I could give them no stars... I would. EXTREMELY disappointed with this place. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.... don't take your dog's here. My puppy Coco is a 7 month old pomeranian shih-tzi mix with beautiful, long, coco chocolate colored hair... or at least she used to be. I was very specific about how I wanted her hair to be trimmed because I am very particular- just lightly trim her all over, mostly clean her up and give her a full trim but to keep her long and fuzzy... upon return a few hours later I was greeted by the manager.. or maybe owner by him saying "So we're going to give you a discount on Coco today..." obviously not a good start. The incompetent receptionist apparently wrote to make her hair a half inch long instead of take a half inch off!! She's basically bald... totally shaved- she's just a tiny little thing and she has always had long fluffy hair and now she looks like a skinny little shaved rat! I was obviously more than infuriated with the service and the manager blamed the awful cut on the receptionist being 'fairly new' apparently she has only been there a month.... I'm sorry but if someone has worked somewhere a MONTH and still has no idea how to do their job they need to be IMMEDIATELY FIRED. Not to mention the fact that the groomers just saw a dog with 5 inch long hair, saw that it should be cut to half an inch and thought oh ok, not weird at all. If the groomers are professional dog groomers who know what they're doing they would've called and recommended against her hair going that short... but instead they blindly followed the less than capable receptionist directions. I made my displeasure well known and I obviously will not be going back, and I recommend no one else does either.. at least until they can learn how to hire some competent workers. Until the last few months I would have rated The Pet Salon 5 stars but their service has really declined. For years I paid for Express Service (grooming service between 1 and 1-1/2 hours). The last two times I was there it took over 3-1/2 hours and I was still charged for Express Service. I know at least a couple of their better groomers quit in the last few months and I don't recognize any of the groomers that are working there now. A neighbor told me the she took her small dog in early in the morning and at 5:30 p.m they hadn't finished grooming her. Bottom line is that they are EXTREMELY slow. read more

I hardly ever write reviews, but I felt I had to this time. I have a 2 year old shih tzu. Admittedly, he is a little high strung. However, when I took him to the Pet Salon, right near his eye was knicked/raw when I picked him up. I figured these things can happen with wiggly dogs. So, the next time he needed groomed I took him back to the Pet Salon because it is close by to my home. Right away, my dog did not want to go in the doors and I had to pick him up and carry him in. He was taken back behind the door and down the hall to where they groom the dogs (you cannot see where the dogs are being groomed which I do NOT like; all the other places I go have open windows where you can see the dogs and groomers). When I came to pick him up I was told that he had bit the groomer. The owner was very rude with me. My dog wasn't himself for days after., he just seemed very on edge. They said they would groom him again but I refuse to go back. I have taken him to several groomers since and he has never gotten scared just at the sight of a place like he did when I took him to this place the second time. And, he has never bit nor been knicked at any of the other groomers. He has always gotten good reports on behavior and is calm when I pick him up. read more

We have taken our dogs to the pet salon for 6+years but in the last year the quality of service has significantly went down. The last 5 cuts for our two dogs have never been consistent and have only gotten worse. When we raised concern after a chuck of flesh was taken out of one of our dogs ears, there was no apology or empathy, just a flat "well he was being fussy". Our toy poodle, we always specify how we want him cut and specifically say do not cut him like a Bijon with a big poofy head, they always cut him like a Bijon. Granted, Mike the owner or manager(not sure which) suggested we come back to talk about it and see what they could do to fix the cuts this time. I did not feel he was at all concerned about the issues we have had over the last year. We told him we will not be returning(after being a customer for over 6 years) He simply replied "ok, well I'm not going to argue with a customer". I was trying to give him polite feedback why we declined his offer to come back. For $140 the cuts should be what we want and consistent. Cutting our dogs ear is unacceptable and there was no care about it. He's a dog, he can be fussy, it is there job to treat them well and handle them well. I suggest looking elsewhere. read more

Over the past year I think the quality of my dog's haircuts has declined slightly, but my dog is very small and scares easily, and she loves going to the Pet Salon so I continue to stick with them. This place is too inconsistent. My dog looks great after one visit and horrible after another. This last visit was horrible. Ignored in reception for several minutes at arrival and pickup. Groomer did a poor job- ears look choppy and uneven; top if head way too short. When I called to complain I was told to bring him back on and they will fix it. Nothing is going to fix this accept a refund and a few months of grow time. I should also mention the four plus hours - way too long to wash and groom a dog. read more

The Pet Salon is professional, experienced and really cares about my dog. I can call a few days ahead of time and they always seem to be able to fit us in - which is so convenient! They take the time to get to know your pet and listen to how you want your dog to look like...not what they think your dog should look like! The thing that always strikes me EVERY time I go is that the place doesn't smell like wet animals. I love the report cards they give too! This place is the worse! After being told my dog would be done in 3-4 hours she was done in 6. They bought her out and she still wasn't groomed properly. She wasn't even bathed, she smelled, and still had stuff all around her mouth. She has all these spots where she wasn't even cut. Do not take your dog here. read more

Worst experience I've ever had! I have lived in several different states and never had such a poor experience. I have a 4yr old red golden retriever and this salon decided they should shave my dog when I had asked for a trim not to short and not to long. I fully understand that being a new place you have to get to know the dog and client and although I was not happy with the hair cut it was the customer service that made me never want to go back. Things happen and what I got was not what I wanted and they cut her the based on what they thought was best and what I wanted. All I wanted was the owner to acknowledge that I was not happy with the hair cut. He could not even acknowledge that I was not satisfied and kept placing blame on me the customer. I will never go back. The hair will grow back and it's not big deal but poor customer service is horrible and all they had to do was acknowledge I wasn't happy versus argue with me. read more

Excellent experience!! I brought my small dog here after I had several bad experiences at another place. The groomer came out to greet me and my dog and get information on her. My groomer was Erika and she is absolutely devoted to her job. She took the time to explain everything to me while cuddling my dog. When I told her my pup has an allergic skin condition she gave me great advise on what to do about that. I have done that and her skin condition has tremendously improved. The vet even didn't know what to do and put my dog on antibiotics and steroids which barely helped. When I picked my dog up she looked great and was happy!! I got a little booklet with everything they did to her and in what condition her skin, glands, ears etc was. Erika told me about a dog she's groomed regularly and that he got sick - Erika got tears in her eyes while talking about him. I've never experienced so much love for pets and personality at a grooming place! The price is a little higher but I know my little dog is in very good hands there! Absolutely worth it!
