I only come here for their rotisserie chicken and it is pretty good. Meat is moist and juicy not dry like most places. The fries are decent.

Last Saturday night, I dined here with my husband, our kids and his parents. They are Peruvian and we all wanted to try this place out after hearing rave reviews from family. We ordered 2 papas rellenas, 3 Peruvian Place Jaleas, 1/2 pollo a la brasa, 1 parihuela, 1 bottle of Inca kola and to go, 1 arroz chaufa de mariscos. Weird thing, the papa rellena came with white rice. We have never seen this before. Anyway, the flavor was good though. The parihuela had too much salt. The jalea is fried so not much flavor there, but the batter was good and had a nice crunch to it. We didn't end up eating the arroz chaufa until the following day but it was fine, just a bit salty. The prices on our receipt ended up being more than on menu. For example, the papa rellena was listed as $6 on the menu, but came up at $8 on the hand written receipt. This is what sketches me out when restaurants use handwritten receipts. They can basically do taxes all "under the table". Nowhere did it state "Menu prices are subject to change without notice". The Peruvian Place Jalea was listed as $20.99 on the menu but turned out being $23 on the receipt. This is ridiculous they don't put a disclaimer. I wonder if they even report taxes... The pollo a la brasa is baked. It was too wet which made it lack flavor. Although, the chicken was a decent size. I wish it came with the typical sauces as it does at Machu Picchu chicken location in Somerville. All the adults got sick. We narrowed it down to the ceviche which came with the jalea. Thank goodness our kids had the pollo a la brasa. TMI, but we all had the runs later on. It really sucked. The ceviche probably wasn't cooked/marinated long enough. Ceviche is tricky when dining out. This incident makes me never want to order it outside anymore. The service is a bit slow as there is only 1 woman manning the register/phone and serving tables. You can tell it is probably a family run business trying to get up on their feet. Oh, the place is also difficult to locate. The address is 55 City Hall Plaza but you end up in some medical building parking lot or the apartment complex next door. We called them and they said we could park in the apartment complex parking lot and walk through the lawn to the front entrance. When we got out, there was a car blocking us in. My husband had to go back into the restaurant to ask them to move the car. A woman came out and said he took her parking spot. How are we supposed to know this when they originally told us to park there? We usually go to Julianna's or Los Andes in Rhode Island. We have never gotten sick from either of those places. We will travel a little further instead of this place next time. This was worth a try but sorry, we will not be returning. My husband read somewhere, I believe on their Facebook, somebody told The Peruvian Place to "stay humble". With these unannounced price increases, I don't think they plan to do so. Good luck.

Not the right way to cut the fish, corn overcook. sauce was awfull. Don't tell a peruvian how is a tiradito if you are not even one.

Bad attention, bad food, so slow! The place is not nice, not a nice area either. I am peruvian so I know how ceviche and tiradito are!!! I was so disappointed. My tiradito awful! The corn was overcook, the sweet potato too, the big chunks of fish wasn't the right way of how tiradito look and the sauce either. So, I complained, after almost 30 min of waiting they didn't do anything about it!! I talked to the owner and she was very rude, treating and she didn't do anything about it. I will never come back again, I was so pissed of!!! How can she knows like a tiradito is if she isn't peruvian!!! And the name is the peruvian place?? Wtf!! The chicken is all right but nothing wow, she charge you for mayo and spicy sauce. Everything is fried, not much recomended

We currently live in South Carolina and Peruvian food is so so there. I was very happy my daughter mentioned this place; we had Lomo Saltado, Pascado a LaMacho, Tamal de Chancho, Arroz Chaufa de chancho y Chicha morada. What a feats of well balanced flavors! I enjoyed them all. The Chicha, unlike most other Peruvian restaurants, was made in house. You clearly can tell the difference at first taste. The Pescado a La Macho perfect for me, savory fried fish fillets topped with a generous amounts of Muscles, the Tamal brought back memories of those my mom used to buy, really tasty and the chancho (pork) tender and nice big pieces. The Lomo Saltado was juicy like it should always be, again, great flavor, the meat ok, the onions and tomatoes cooked to a perfect al dente point. Finally, the Arroz Chaufa de Chancho (Pork Fried Rice). If you have never had a friend rice from a Peruvian restaurant you must try this one. Nice large portion and the ginger (a key ingredient) also took me home to the best Chinese restaurants I remember from my youth. The ambiance is low key and couple use some updating, but I focus on the food. The owner, Francisco, came to check on how we were doing. He was very pleasant and I told him how glad we all were that we came today. For sure we will make this place a must stop every time we are in town visiting our daughter. If you want really tasty Peruvian food I highly recommend you give El RINCON Del Sabor a try. I believe you will have a memorable feast.

When I couldn't decide on a cocktail, Sandra readily recommended the Grapefruit Martini -- it was delicious and totally the right call, Hubby's Tito's Cosmo was also well-made. For dinner, Hubby had the Chicken Parm - it was enormous and delicious, chicken was cooked well and the homemade pasta was a perfect al dente. The sauce was very good, but there was too much cheese for his taste, an easy fix to move to the side. There was plenty to take home for a second meal so it was an even better value. I chose the Spinach Salad, which was fresh and tasty with artichokes and goat cheese. Again, it was a generous portion for a very good price. We rarely indulge in dessert but we were convinced to try the homemade Tiramisu and it was amazing, just the way I make it myself. It's very hard to find a Tiramisu that is so authentic. We absolutely recommend Tumi, based on our experience it would be had to make a bad decision from their menu.

The product you get here is ok and cheaper and that's ok if you're not too worried about the quality and the taste, atmosphere or the service. We have been wanting to try this place for a while so we were excited to check it out. The restaurant is nice with plenty of seating for big and small groups. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you at your table. We decided to share 1/2 a chicken with a small side of beans and large side of french fries. If you order a side you get a free side salad so that was a nice surprise. We also wanted to try their chicha morada which is a typical Peruvian style drink. The drink was nice and sugary and tasted like hibiscus ice tea. When the chicken came out it smelled really good! Everything was nice and hot and we couldn't wait to dig in! I am a french frie lover and I think these were the best fries I have ever had in Boston!! They were thick, crispy, and perfectly salted and I couldn't get enough of them! It was very juicy and tender and very well seasoned. The meat litterly melted off the bone and I was quickly devouring it. I think 1/2 a chicken to share was enough for the both of us since we had a huge pile of french fries to finish. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be back for some good chicken!
