I can't say enough good things about the medical and support staff at Millburn Peds. Millburn Peds…read morehas been a great fit for our family since we moved to the area 3 years ago. The support staff are always patient and helpful, the nurses are amazing with the kids, and the doctors are thoughtful, kind, and never in a rush. I am always reassured knowing they are just a phone call away - and recently when I called late in the day, they told me to come right in and saw me 10 minutes later - even though they were on the verge of closing up. Dr Nick is our primary but all the doctors there are great - esp Dr Mangru. Big fan of this practice!! Tim DeMinico Cappadona

My doctor called me fat after my parent left the room. Do not let your kids see Dr. Knowles,…read moreespecially teen girls, if body image is an issue for them/ the family. I recently went to her for my yearly physical, she has been my primary doctor for years and I have had no issues until this year. Once my parent had left the room she kept asking me why I gained weight with the points on the chart being her only data, no labs or anything to indicate an actual medical issue caused by or influencing weight. She told me that at my age I should not be gaining weight, only losing or staying the same. She also likened my mental health medication to a weight loss drug and claimed that by now "they should be working to help me lose appetite and thus weight" even though it is a non-desired side effect that has nothing to do with why I take it. She also insisted that I should see an endocrinologist to help lose weight as well as a nutritionist to get me in a diet without any confirmation that the weight gain is a detriment to my health. I repeatedly told her that I saw no issue with my weight and she kept pushing as if it was a requirement for me to have the same skinny bodies as the rest of my family. This experience was absolutely unacceptable, for a pediatrician to have such disregard for growing people's self image and to insult them and their body repeatedly when they are alone in the room with the patient is despicable. Later that day when confronted with choice of meal I actually started crying and nearly had a panic attack because of what she said to me. This is the kind of behavior that gives people eating disorders that can kill them. After speaking with my therapist and psychiatrist about the situation and how much it affected me they informed me they knew of Dr. Knowles and that my bad experience was not the first they heard. Truly shame on you.

My Dr, Dr. Britni Minifra is more than Outstanding! She's extremely smart, caring, and thorough. I…read morehighly recommend Dr. Manifra, she's the best. BUT BUT BUT, Dr. Minifra is on an extended maternity leave, and left her patients care to her assistant, Denise Hernandez A.P.R.N. On December 18th, I made a video appointment with Denise, during this call everything went well; as usual. I was told by Denise as we ended the call, to follow up in 2 weeks. TWO WEEKS LATER...... I go to MyChart to schedule a follow-up with Denise, and I can't schedule an appointment, there are NO PROVIDERS LISTED!! Also, there was no way to send a message!! I call the office next, and I'm transferred to someone who tells me "You've been discharged from this practice!! SHOCKED!! ME?? WHY?? All that was explained to me was that "They are short staffed". Next, I was told that they would provide 1 month of medication while I find another provider. Now, for most people this might be ok, but for me, I'm on Controled Substance meds, and finding another provider is More than Difficult, and I explained them of this; THEY DID NOT CARE!! Being a patient with 3 chronic conditions in need of continuous medications, this type of behavior should be ILLEGAL!! Doctors take an oath, to "DO NO HARM", these Doctors Harmed Me Terribly!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS!!

At 630 this morning, I realized I had forgotten to pack my thyroid medicine to take with me on vacation to Boston. I called and left a message requesting a prescription be called in for 5 tablets. I gave all of my personal info, and provided the location and phone number of the local CVS, which was in Salem, where we'd be spending the day, as well as my own phone number. I did not receive any call back confirming that the message was received, etc. So I called again, at about 9:35. I was told the prescription had been "called in". Ok, great. We did some sightseeing at I went to the CVS at 11:30 assuming the prescription would be ready or nearly ready. I was told it was never received. Called the Dr office again. I was told that the Dr on duty never looked at it because he was busy with patients. Ok, but I'm a patient also, and I had iniated this request in the early morning, so could they please ask him to do it between patients she said she would ask him to do that. I returned at 1:30... STILL NOTHING. I called the Dr office and was told the same story. We went to lunch. I called the pharmacy at 330. THE PRESCRIPTION WAS A) NOT CALLED IN TO THAT LOCATION, BUT TO ANOTHER ONE IN SALEM; B) THE DR PRESCRIBED *A*FULL*30 DAY* SUPPLY* which I did not ask for, and the prescription coverage denied it because I'm not due for a FULL refill until October. NO KIDDING. BUT I ONLY ASKED FOR F I V E TABLETS. I called the Dr office A G A I N, told them what they did which was WRONG, and they proceeded to pit me.in hold then hand me off to someone who expected me to start from the beginning to explain it to her. NO THANKS. I called the CVS back, worked with the pharmacy to only fill it for 5 tablets, for which I had to pay out of pocket since the INEPT DR OFFICE called in the WRONG QUANTITY so the pharmacy could not run it through my prescription coverage for less than 30 day supply. I. AM. LIVID. I've NEVER dealt with such ineptitude in my life.

Super accessible! My first contact with this group of pediatricians was with the birth of my older…read moredaughter over 2 years ago. My coworker had recommended them. Of the group, Dr. Teresa Manocchio (pronounced like Pinocchio) is my all-time favorite. She has a warm bedside manner and an honest, down-to-earth personality. She's a natural. The entire staff including nurses and receptionists (who can validate parking) are great with children and their parents. In the waiting area, there's a spot for parking strollers and Nemo and Dory impersonators in a fish tank that separates healthy and sick patients. While receptionists can book appointments, online scheduling's available on a "patient portal" for $69/year for one child (and $30/year for each additional child). Visit notes, recommendations, and vaccine information are shared on the portal but more importantly, future appointments are easier to schedule with any doctor you wish. For regular check-ups, bringing a blanket helps keep babies warm when they need to be stripped to their diaper. One time I forgot and had to use my hoodie. Wait times typically range from 5 to 15 minutes. The staff's pretty mindful of keeping healthy kids away from exam rooms previously occupied by a sick child. The doctors use current best practices and fully answer any questions. They also perform ear piercings for $100 which includes a starter pair of earrings from a selection of 5 choices. I suggest bringing a book or toy as a distractor for immediately after the piercing. For semi-emergencies, you can call for a same-day appointment with the doctor on duty. I love this group so much that I recommended them to my brother's family. It's a matter of trust.
