This stop at the Peabody was part of our day tour around Memphis through our American Cruise Line River Cruise. I had seen a few 'You Tube' videos about The Peabody and was very excited to be stopping here even if it was for just 30 minutes. We were not staying here but I wanted to walk the downstairs just to get an idea of this place. It truly is a wonderful-old-oppulent place where you can just see and feel the history around you. The dim lighting along with the dark woods just send you back in time. Our purpose to come to The famous Peabody hotel were to see the ducks. We came to late to see them come into the pool and too early to se them leave but just watching them splash around and have what looked like a really good time was fun. (See photos) The layout of the lower level is beautiful and I just explored until finally making my way to the gift shop. They have a pretty extensive collection of anything Memphis and I would up walking out with an "Elvis Duck" for my collection. If you come to Memphis make sure you stop by, even if you're not staying here. It's worth it. read more

What a beautiful and fancy hotel. We had the pleasure of staying here for 4 days and 3 nights. This place is absolutely amazing and classy. We opted to upgrade to the Club Level Rooms on the 12th floor. The 12th floor is very exclusive. There is a private lounge and dining area on this 12th floor. There is a breakfast served daily and also an appetizer/charcuterie reception daily in the Club Level. It is very much worth the upgrade. The convention spaces at this wonderful hotel are very spacious. The history of the hotel and its "Peabody Ducks" are the show stoppers. Everyday there is a "Duck Parade/March" in which the Duckmaster and retrieves the ducks at 11a from their duck sanctuary on the top floor of the hotel. He brings them down the elevator to the lobby and they march on the red carpet into the famous and ornate Peabody Fountain. Then, at 5p the Duckmaster comes to retrieve them and does another "Duck March" back to the elevator to take back up to the duck sanctuary. People travel from all over the world to witness and participate in this ceremony. They have honorary duck Masters, people who have waited years, who practice the ceremony with the Peabody Ducks and Duckmaster. Everything was so well appointed and very ornate. There is also a history of the hotel that plays on the video in each room. If you have an opportunity in your lifetime to stay at this hotel and enjoy the amenities, I highly recommend it. There is also a pool and an athletic club on the lower level. I didn't have a chance to get to that area, but that was one of my goals so I have to save that for the next time I visit. Overall, the Club level King Room, the Club Level, and everything about our stay was 5-Star. The Bell Desk has Jeffrey who was outstanding at getting our bags upstairs to our room. The hotel registration process was seamless with Diamond handling all of our details and upgrade to a Club Level Room. Diamond's customer service was EXCELLENT and she made me feel welcome and valued as a hotel guest. Charles, we assume he is the lead Concierge, at the Valet area was professional and he made things happen for all of the guests. We are so impressed. read more

This was a 3.5 star stay. We rolled in on a Saturday around 6pm. Didn't know where to pull up the car and ended up on the wrong side of the hotel. Once we found the valet--super long line of cars--it was clear it would be easier to self park so we did, no problems there as Husband had smartly gone inside and checked in already (used room key for parking entry.) Surprised at how enormous this place is between the hotel and parking lot. Everything was loud and kinda chaotic, downtown, the lobby, everything. Not my favorite vibe, also not the hotel's fault. We ate at Capriccio Grill. Food was very good (loved the Butter Board!) but the restaurant itself had that feel of a place where they serve breakfast lunch and dinner in a busy hotel 24/7 so no ambience to speak of. I would love to try the French place, Chez Philippe, when/if we return. Stopped by the bar for a to-go drink and it was long enough to note that the famous chocolate mousse duck was $13 on the menu but we had just been charged $18 at the deli for one to go. Made me feel less like a guest and more like a tourist being taken advantage of. It looked good but definitely wasn't some amazing dessert for that price. The room itself was quiet from the hotel side, despite being right next to the elevators, but there was an event at Autozone Park and a band was playing right outside our 9th floor window for most of our one night stay (until 10pm, started up again at 8am on Sunday.) Also not the hotel's fault but just one more unfortunate occurrence. The room was huge and comfy, loved the Nespresso machine. The bathroom on the other hand was tiny, but fine for one night. Super clean. We didn't see the ducks but I was enchanted by all the duck touches everywhere, from the duck-shaped soap to the duck-shaped single ice cube in Husband's old fashioned to the duck embroidery on one of the pillows and more. Good for them to lean into the duck tradition! Without exception, every employee was very nice and helpful. I would give this hotel another try knowing what I know now because I think it has the potential be a much better experience. read more

US presidents & General Robert E Leee stayed here. Now at 11:00 AM we line up to see the Peabody ducks take a ride in the elevator from their rooftop home to the lobby, waddle across the red carpet & hop into the fountain until 5:00 when they move up the elevator to the the rooftop to the music of John Philip Sousa. We got to the lobby bar at 4:15 and we were able to get a seat at the reserved duck master table. Steps & a red carpet are coming down and the ducks will pass in front of us on the way out of the fountain at 5 o'clock. A tragedy in customer service that not even the precious ducks could overcome. After attempting to discuss this with the front desk manager on the morning of July 25, 2026, I am left with no choice but to warn the masses not to invest the small fortune to stay at the hotel. After discovering the bedside plugs in our DELUXE ROOM did not work (a real problem when you are a CPAP user), we called the Front Desk and explained the urgent need. They said they would send an engineer to come and fix the issue. Now twelve hours later and no engineer or phone call, I called the manager to inquire why the problem was not addressed and my concern fell upon not only deaf, but incompetent ears. The excuse was they thought it could wait until today and that we could make an appointment for an engineer to come to our room (exactly what we thought we were doing last night). Without apology or real explanation, I was absolutely blown off! After spend $600+ a night to stay here, I'm furious. A lovely stay in what appears to be a lovely historic hotel ruined by absurdly poor customer service. Heed my advice - visit the ducks, stay at a different hotel! read more

Right the heart of Memphis and has the famous duck walk! You can actually see the duck walk at the second floor but if you want pictures up close as they come out the elevators, then come early (an hour or more before) to get a good seat. Otherwise, you can just wait until all the busy entry is done and take pictures of the ducks as they enjoy their time at the fountain. We ate at the restaurant near the lobby and it was great food and quiet. Very different from the lobby restaurant where we couldn't even hear each other. Overall a good experience and worth a try if you're in Memphis. read more

Everybody seems very nice. The customer service is great. We valet parked the car for $37 a night. This room cost us around $300 for the night, and it was tiny. They offered us an upgrade for $90 a night. We declined it. However, the bathroom in the room we did get was so small that I could not sit on the toilet straight. The sink is so close to the toilet there's no way to sit properly. Also, I did not take a picture of it because it was kind of gross, but I had to clean the toilet when we got in the room because there was pubic hairs on the toilet. Second sidenote, don't think you're going to be able to poop in this bathroom. There's no fan. The positives of this hotel is that the lobby looks beautiful and everyone we spoke to was very nice. Peabody's Mother's Day Experience was fantastic. From appetizers to deserts, you could not be disappointed. Everything from seafood (Jumbo Shrimp) and Sushi to wonderfully grilled pork belly and biscuits and gravy was available. Then the prime rib and lamb and steak would be second course. Desert from Bread pudding and Ice cream sundaes to chocolate covered strawberries. Dining with live music and fabulous attendants. A special treat for wife and daughter. read more

I spent 4 nights at the Peabody while in town for business, and I was impressed with the hospitality from every department--front desk, the lobby cocktail servers, housekeeping, and banquets staff. I felt right at home in my quaint Executive Queen on the 9th floor with views of the baseball park. The rooms are a little small when compared to modern day accommodations, but I love the cozy feeling of old-timey hotels. The extra service at the Peabody puts this stay above the rest with daily housekeeping and nightly turndown service. I was so grateful to sneak away to my room between meeting sessions to find a clean and fresh bed to relax. Also, every evening the comfortable waffle robe and a couple chocolates were waiting for me to unwind and fall asleep. The beds and pillows were surprisingly comfortable--a rare occurrence in a hotel. If I am ever visiting Memphis again, I will only stay at The Peabody. The luxury accommodations are surprising considering the price point. Plus, the location is walkable to Beale Street, several foodie hot spots, and the River Walk along the Mississippi. We chose this property based on its history, reviews and location to other events we were planning to do while in Memphis. This is a great property with a eclectic ambiance. A lot of people k are familiar with this Hotel for its famous " Duck March" ( no spoilers here, you'll have to experience it for yourself). The Hotel has a luxurious feel, and staff at all levels are attentive, friendly and focused on delivering an upscale service experience. The lobby is vibrant, with a nice bar, and plenty of comfortable casual seating. A pianist plays throughout the day, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. The rooms are very nicely appointed, with very comfortable beds, and ample room not to feel cramped. The Hotel has a restaurant, coffee and pastry shop, as well as a lounge where you could relax or watch a sporting event on TV, as well as a few other retail stores throughout. There are also some walkable restaurants close by, so recommend checking them out. We would definitely make this our first choice if we are back in Memphis, and highly recommend it. read more

Bellhop, service representative, the bellhop man broke my glass with liquid and put it back on my luggage spilling out over my shoes. The repet lyes and say she will take care of it. When management got involved the next day she said oh I forgot. Then took extra money out of my account 593 dollars to be exact because one manager said I will refund your money back. While we did not stay here overnight, a visit to the Peabody in Memphis is a MUST! We opted to partake in the nightly "Duck March" and my daughter and I (along with all other kids in attendance) were given the opportunity to sit front-row on the red carpet to watch. Come early to get a good spot and stay afterwards for a photo opportunity with the Duckmaster. You can also take the elevator up to the roof to view the "Duck Palace" to see where the ducks live (and catch some great photos of Memphis from the top). Tip: The Duck March occurs daily at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Arrive at least 15 minutes early to snag a good spot in the lobby near the fountain and elevators. I understand that the building is old, which is part of the history and experience...but this was more of an old that smells weird and has shotty craftsmanship. our room had stain spots on the carpet, the bedding smelt weird, the shower runs brown water for a full two minutes before it is clear and the toilet barely flushed. We ordered room service and it took so long and tasted bad, like maybe it too was a little too old. They forgot our drinks and then parking in the parking deck is sketchy, the smell of urine was overpowering. The ducks and their trainer were the best part by far...I would suggest staying elsewhere and then visiting to see the ducks. The staff at the bar fountain and the store staff were nice too. Just make sure you get there early, tables fill up well before 11am to get from row views. read more

OK, we missed the duck walk. Not sure if seeing ducks walk by is really something I'm interested in, but I will tell you this. We worked to get to the bar at the Peabody twice in our two nights that we were in town. It's a great room to visit in the service was extra special and the cocktails tasted great. We strongly suspect the hotel is as fantastic as the bar, but we don't know for sure. So if you're within about five blocks of this establishment and the thirst gets the best of you this is a very worthwhile for you to consider for cocktails. I came here for the same reason that most people do: it's a hotel that has fucking ducks. I did notice, after a few minutes of marveling at the ducks, that the bar area looked like a cool area even without the ducks. We tested it out, without the ducks, because we arrived just after they were brought to their penthouse upstairs and the fountain was duckless. Right around duck time, it was very crowded and there were pretty much no seats to be had in the place. We got lucky and a couple just got up from their seats at the bar so we were able to swoop in and keep those chairs from returning to room temperature. Service was great, we were asked within a few minutes of arriving what we would like to order. We were then asked a few minutes later if we were being helped. The cocktail menu is some upper crust shit. With upper crust prices. Think, circa 2019 NYC bar prices. I tried something with jalapeño and tequila, if memory serves. GF ordered something berry-esque. My drink was no joke. They did not water this shit down at all. They gave a full pour. They were not messing around and you could taste it. I don't like to taste my alcohol so this wasn't as enjoyable as it could have been but it certainly was a grown up drink for grown ups. Maybe they are kindly ensuring we get our money's worth. I tried GF's drink which I preferred however it was similarly strong tasting. The ambiance is delightful. It is a really special place. We had been to the Peabody once before, but never for brunch. When I found out that they had a Mother's Day brunch buffet I was very excited. And I wasn't let down at all. The building itself is historic and features excellent architecture and design elements. On Mother's Day the world-famous Peabody ducks were frolicking in the fountain. Cute! When we checked in for brunch, we were escorted to a staging area as they prepared our table. In the staging area they had tea, coffee, and water waiting for us. Additionally, a complementary photo was taken and provided. This was a great touch as most places charge an arm-and-leg for a photo. The dining room was very well appointed, and there was plenty of space in between the tables. Now to the most important part, the food! It was excellent and included an abundance of options. The different food stations lined almost the entire mezzanine. There was a wide selection of salads, fruits, and vegetables. As well as seafood, sushi and a variety of pork, chicken and beef. Additionally, brunch wouldn't be brunch without a wide selection of breakfast items and a homemade omelette station. And if you've ever seen a picture of me, you know that I like desserts. The desserts were excellent, beautiful, tasty and there was an extremely wide selection. And it doesn't matter if you're a vegan, vegetarian, or an outright carnivore like myself - there was plenty of options for everyone. read more

This place is all about the ducks right? Lol. Well, the show is all well worth seeing. If anything, just for all the history they tell you about the hotel and the duck tradition. Certainly for Memphis, the hotel is pretty over the top in looks. As you look around, to think of what it took to build the place so many years ago. It's certainly been preserved beautifully. Stayed at the Peabody overnight while on a road trip and it did not disappoint! Everything was 5 star from beginning to end. Checked in after 5pm so we missed the ducks going back upstairs, but the room was gorgeous and cozy and the duck theme on everything was adorable! We even ordered a duckie dessert thru room service. Special shout out to Hailey from room service for going the extra mile to accommodate my ridiculous need for lots of water! She was so sweet and fun, I wish she could have hung out with us in our room! And special shout out to Zekria from housekeeping for taking care of our room needs! He was also so sweet and cute! We shopped in the store and looked around the mezzanine at the history of the hotel. So much to see - definitely plan some time here! Of course the DUCKS are the stars of the show. The hotel recommends coming down at 10:30am for the 11am duck march, but to get a good seat, you probably need to come down sooner than that. Duckmaster Ken was amazing and should be the highest paid employee for all his charisma and representation of the hotel and the ducks. He's so attentive and aware of his surroundings and great with all the guests. Also had a great time talking to the staff in the men's clothing store. They are so fun and stylish and represent the hotel and really, Memphis, so well! The only downside, if there was one, was that we got in trouble at night for being "too loud", as we were in our bed watching The Golden Girls on tv and laughing. Apparently the walls are super thin bc of how it was built 100 years ago and the neighbors thought our laughter was too loud! Oh well! We had fun! read more

I went in for the Red Carpet Ducks. The Duck-master was amazing! He was very personable, knowledgeable, and friendly. It was a nice experience. I would advise you to get there early, lobby does fill up with people. Please check their website for the schedule. The hotel is very well maintained. I also visited the shops inside the lobby. Been coming to the Peabody long before yelp. Been a family tradition since before I was even born. My daddy's favorite hotel. His father is from Memphis & was always a favorite of our family. We have many great memories of this hotel, many weddings & family celebrations. We have always been fans of the Peabody's famous "duck parade" haha. Such a beautiful hotel with great history. A must visit. Bucket List worthy. We just recently had moi family birthday lunch here like the good o'l days. It was so much fun. It could not have been more perfect. Brought back all kinds of memories of when dad used to bring us here when we were kids ohmygosh. Just wonderful memories. Legend. accommodations, 5 stars. service, 5 stars.
