Dirty room

This hotel was filthy. We chose it for the great reviews and outdoor pool. It was late and we had been traveling all day or we would have left. The floors were dirty, the bed cover was stained, there were stains on the curtains, and the pool was growing algae. 10/10 would NOT recommend.

We stopped here passing thru on a road trip. Made reservations the day before. Picked the hotel based on reputation and price. Nice and clean room. It's updated and modern. The parking had a lot of spots and the outside lighting was very good. The free breakfast is hot. Eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy and waffle maker.

You never know what you're getting on a road trip and a good place to overnight at a reasonable price is essential. I hit the jackpot here. The rooms and lobby are spotless and well maintained. The rooms are spacious and well appointed especially so when the rate is budget friendly. The staff, however, take this too five star. Unfailingly polite, all seemed genuinely interested in meeting my needs. From references for good bbq despite having an on-site restaurant to a call some 30 minutes after checking in to see if my room met my standards, these folks know customer service. I will definitely stay here again.

Loved our stay here! Brand new hotel with modern furnishings, and everything was bright and clean on the inside. We got in late but the lobby restaurant was still open, which was great food that was reasonably priced - they even had some local beer on tap! The only drawback was a poor water pressure during my shower, but that's a minor nitpick. Definitely one of the better hotel experiences I've had in a while!

First, we stayed here because Arkansas was on the bucket list to visit and we were on a road trip. Thus, we couldn't stay in Memphis and we had Hilton points to use up by a certain time. Otherwise, it's fine for 1 night, but don't stay 4 nights like we did. Second, here's a list of the good, bad, and ugly... Good: Pooling heated, towels in the room, fairly empty so easy to use. They have a gym too, with everything working. Breakfast was on par for the brand, and I liked the yogurt machine. Their refillable water station was also convenient. Bad: Digital key for room stopped working after day 1 and they had no idea how to fix it. Physical key also stopped working after day 2 and we had to go reset them. Annoying and inconvient. They ran out of coffee one day, fine since I don't drink it, but annoying for some. Their tea selections were all caffeine, nothing for bedtime. They ran out of lids one day too, which is dangerous when trying to bring a hot beverage to your room. If you forget anything, you'll have to pay for it, so pack your toothpaste! Finally, their location on the highway is fine for going to Memphis, but super inconvient for getting back to the hotel or trying to visit the casino across the street since the service road is one way. Not their fault, but just FYI. The Ugly: Their house cleaning was non-existent. Free sticker on the bathroom mirror said every other day. Fine by me. Except they didn't come. So we called to ask and then had to go down ourselves to get towels that second night. Again on day 3, no one came. And again on day 4, no one came. The trash got a little icky and a giant pile of towels stacked up. Beds were not made. But that was still not the worst thing. The worst was the mold in the shower, around the fire sprinkler (maybe dirty?), and the ac unit. Which we had to run. So, if you really need a cheaper place with free parking (assuming they aren't too busy, it's a small lot) and don't need to eat when you stop (nothing much nearby) and you are just staying one night, it might be ok. But I was very disappointed in the hotel and it has tainted the brand for me. Gold status for Hilton doesn't matter if they don't make sure the service is decent and the rooms are good.

Nice and helpful staff. Very cute decor. Loved the room, and breakfast was great!…read more Disliked · The actual road going in is a little confusing. Other than that, everything else was great.

Not this time. The desk employees are very nice and professional. The young lady thanked me for being a member and handed me my room keys. The whole check-in process took less than 2 minutes. Perfect. Though from there, the stay went sideways. The facility looks tired, worn, and not up to expected standards. Sticky floors in the elevator, smudges on the corridor walls, carpets that needed cleaning. In the room we had, it really wasn't that much better. More of the same, but maybe to a lesser degree. Still, not up to Holiday Inn standards. We asked for a room on the side of the building, not facing I-40, and that is a must. You can't hear yourself think when outside, and I can't believe that it's much better if you have a facing room. Our room on the opposite side of the building, though, was quiet. There was no highway noise at all. We were tired and just wanted to relax and catch up on the weather, so we turned on the TV. The screen was tinted purple. No way to fix it. Even my grandson, who is a wizard with electronics, couldn't figure it out. Cause we were all settled in, we made do. There's a lack of attention to detail at this Holiday Inn Express. Breakfast in the morning was a challenge in of itself. The fruit juice selections were watery, there was no batter in the pancake machine, and the overall appearance of the breakfast area was unappealing. Again, lack of attention to detail. The next morning wasn't any better. Though that morning, there was batter in the pancake machine, it ran out after 4 pancakes! The eggs, bacon, and cinnamon rolls weren't replenished, and this was still with an hour of breakfast remaining. It was almost as if the attendants thought, Oh well, they've had enough to eat. I'll continue to stay at Holiday Inn Express, but never at this location. Nor should you. Quick Tip: There's a peculiar smell that permeates the area. It smells like sewage. I don't know if it actually was or if it was a byproduct of manufacturing in the area. It's enough to dissuade one from staying in this location. Had I known of it, I definitely wouldn't have booked a room here.

The hotel is nestled a block of other similar brands of hotels. I booked a hotel through the Wyndham app and got a great deal on it. The hotel was bright and clean when I arrived, and the front desk gave me a room in the area that I requested. My room was a large, accessible king room as the hotel was almost at capacity. The room was large and fairly clean, and the bathroom was spotless. There were many outlets and charging ports available for my phones and devices, and the wifi had a clean, fast signal and was easy to connect to. The hotel has everything you need for one or more nights. It has a fitness center with new equipment, a pool (which was out of order at the time of my stay), guest laundry and a full breakfast with hot and cold choices. Restaurants, coffee, fast food and gas can all be found within minutes of the hotel, and there are more places to eat in West Memphis close to the hotel. Overall, I had a good stay with no issues, and I most certainly will stay at this hotel again. I had a King room on the first floor near the side exit of the building, and it was quiet that night.

I also don't expect much from a free breakfast and coffee, but it wasn't even edible. The room was not nearly cheap enough for it to be this gross.

Also consider when they were written; for example, if there are a few really negative critiques from five years ago but recent ones are favorable, then it's safe to assume that whatever issues customers had in the past have been resolved.) The front desk attendant was friendly & professional, & the hotel was nice & quiet. My room was HUGE, complete with a sitting area with a desk plus a mini fridge, microwave & coffee pot. While I didn't use any of those amenities, I probably would have if I arrived earlier or stayed longer. Everything was spotless, there were plenty of fresh towels & the pillows were nice & fluffy. The shower curtain is a beautiful American flag design. A lot of pluses for a great price.

Like many of the newer Marriot hotels, you can watch your streaming services on the room's TV and erase your credentials anytime. The washroom was large and clean and had plenty of towels. The bathroom has soap, shampoo and conditioner in the shower. The fitness center has enough equipment for more than a basic workout. I did not have breakfast as I went out to eat in the morning.
