Beautiful hotel. Very spacious rooms. The unfortunate thing is the cleanliness. The bathroom was dated and not super clean. Hair in tub and on shampoo bottle that also was pretty dirty. The pull out bed had used tissues and filth in it. We put that thing up and my son slept on top of sofa which was adequate. Breakfast was pretty good. I value cleanliness more than other aspects so probably wouldn't stay here again. It was comfortable. read more

There was no hot water, in the evening when we checked i , nor in the morning before we left. We checked in and there was no hot water to shower, so we thought that there would be in the morning. The front desk attendant was so helpful! Even when we had some issues with the people above our head stomping all night, she was able to assist us in getting them to simmer down. The room had a nice and comfy bed to sleep in! The water was hot. Our room is updated, complete with beautiful countertops, glimmering shower and COFFEE! Haha. The thing is, our floors has noticeable grime on the bathroom floor and mold around the base of the showers. When we opened the sofa bed for our kiddo to sleep, there were used linens still tucked inside. We called the front desk to request clean sheets and they were brought to our room speedily. I walked to the pool area (hours:6am-10pm) and fitness center. Both of which are in okay shape, both doors for the fitness room and pool were open/not locked and there was lots of mold around the entry of the pool door. There's not a hot tub/spa in case anyone else is wondering, but the pool area is indoors and there are gender neutral restrooms. Breakfast (6-9am) consisted of eggs, bacon, sausage, waffle, yogurt, biscuits and gravy, your normal continental breakfast. EXCEPT there is a coffee machine that makes mochachinos, latte, cappuccino and plain Jane coffee! It's not a bad place to sleep for the night. I'll update when my $50 hold is released. Yes, they out a $50 hold on your card and apparently it goes through automatically. 10/26/22 (2 days later): my card was charged the $50 deposit. When I called to ask why the hold was actually charged, staff member said it was charged but put back the next day. I'll update my stars and call them again if it doesn't get returned, we literally only stayed for the night and got back on the road. We left no damage and cleaned up after ourselves, so why do they actually charge your card that deposit? I read from other reviewers same thing happened to them too. It's weird the charge actually goes through, this is the first hotel that we've ever stayed at that actually charges the deposit then puts it back. Scammy. 10/27/22 UPDATE: still waiting for my $50 credited back to my bank. I contacted Choice Hotels and they said it depends on my bank, but my bank is waiting on the hotel. Pleasantly surprised with this hotel when we stopped after a very long day of driving. The only negatives really were sorry water pressure in the shower and the breakfast person didn't keep things stocked very well at breakfast. My traveling companion said it was pretty pricey too, although I don't know how much. Bed was comfortable and a decent tv in the room. Fairly clean too. We stayed here 1 night and this hotel was one of the nicest I've ever seen. Very easy access in an out of the parking lot with plenty of room for a trailer. I read that some of the reviews said they had an area for Cub Scout history, American flag history and a display of old car tail lights. Sadly, all 3 displays have been removed. They said the displays went with the last owners. New owners took over the 1st of the year (2018). Never the less, the inside has been redecorated. No displays, but nice inside. Our room was very clean and spacious. Quiet all night with a comfortable bed so a good night's sleep was had by all. In the morning we went down stairs and ate at the BEST continental breakfast ever! Real scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, gravey, grits, waffles, danihes, coffee, juice, cerial and fruit. Something else I noticed at the breakfast bar.... the serving utensils were constantly getting changed out &/or cleaned off. Which meant no nasty looking spoon to dish out eggs or gravy that's been sitting there and used for hours. (We've all seen those, yuck) but not at this place!!! The staff was very friendly and this hotel can go toe to toe with any high dollar hotel anyday. read more

Stayed here over the weekend of August 4th -7th. It was the absolute worst experience I've had with a hotel. If I had not been home for a funeral, I would have left the minute we opened our room. However, there was no availability anywhere else nearby, which should have been my first clue. We arrived a little before check-in time and asked for early check-in. There were no rooms ready; had to wait until the rooms were cleaned. we went about our day and then came back and checked in that evening. After waiting all day for a CLEAN room, what we found was atrocious. The bathroom floor was filthy; there was a white sticky substance on the door handles inside and out leading into the room. The bathtub has been painted versus refinished and the paint was peeling off; the tub drain was filled with large pieces of paint that had peeled off. The tub itself was dirty even under where the paint had peeled off. the bottom sheet had a big hole in it. I don't recommend and I will sleep in the car before staying here again. Just DON'T. I WILL NEVER EVER step foot in this hote again! I booked so my Son could swim for his birthday 4 kids (11,12,13,14) 1 adult! After paying in full with deposit my kids enter the building the front desk clerk immediately profiled them. I was up stairs checking the room making sure it was clean because I worked for them in the past and I know they'll rent a dirty nasty room! I was called down stairs and told that my kids wasn't KIDS their adults! WOW!! I immediately called the owner and made him aware of the situation. The owner then calls the front desk clerk and tells him if there is any mischief call the POLICE WOW!! My kids are at the hotel ALL the time if not coming to visit their Mom at work we are there staying spending hundreds of dollars for over the past 10yrs! This is by far the WORST experience I've EVER experience! Like I said I worked there and I've witnessed numerous bus loads of BIG and tall kids stay and NEVER has anyone treated them this way oh probably because they were caucasian and my family is African American we were racially profile SIMPLE! And you would think after you've worked as hard as I did for this Hotel faithful they would have some respect for ME!! The guest are the ones that's keeping these establishments open and should NEVER be treated the way my family and I was! Rude Staff. Prepaid for Room and at check in - they tell you that they are charging a additional $50 for incidentals. At check out - they tell you that they charge is being returned in several days. I had the worst experience of any hotel stay at Batesville Choice Hotel. The maid would not clean my room with me in it. I'm a disabled male and was unable to get to my wheelchair to leave. She wouldn't even put my chair to me. I asked to speak with the manager and she was unavailable. I asked for a refund and was told that I could not be given one. The cucumber water has white stuff floating on the top when I got there and was still there when I left. The "breakfast" was stale pastries. I asked to speak to the manager twice more? One before checkout. I head someone say "tell him I'm not here.) I filed a complaint with Choice hotels and was finally give 6000 points which equaled a nights stay and was told that they never expired. Guess what? They expired. The agent gave me a "lesson " on checking my email, and finally mentioned that it most likely went to junk mail, which I'm also expected to check. Who checks junk mail? She said that emails have been sent saying in order to maintain the points I have to stay every 18 months at a Choice hotel. I was not told that, and I never saw an email. I spoke with a "supervisor" at a call center and was told sorry. I asked to speak with a manager and she said that she was as "high" as it gets. I called her out on that (as I worked with at a call center for a major brand and it had supervisor, manager, Director and Vice President). It sucks to have subpar service and hostile managers. All I can say is BEWARE QND AS TO INSPECT THE ROOM BEFORE PAYING! read more

If I could rate this place lower, I absolutely would! My family and I stayed there last night on our way back home to North Georgia. I'll try to keep this brief and to the point. The room had mildew all around the shower with rusted metal everywhere. The air conditioning unit was obviously malfunctioning as the carpet all around it was soaked. It was very loud, poorly cleaned, and smelled like urine. We stayed here based on all the positive reviews here on yelp. I'm not sure how these reviews could ever properly reflect the reality of this hotel. Bottom line: Do not stay in West Memphis! Move on down the line! It's absolutely beautiful here. I love the style the hotel goes for its more of an expensive comfy look if that makes sense it's not like bright colors and stuff it's more Browns and neutrals which I love. It has a heated indoor pool, the room the pool is in is climate controlled too. There are bathrooms in the pool area too. Our bed is super comfy. The breakfast is really good and FREE so it taste even better lol they had make your own waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, different cereals, grits, oatmeal, chocolate chips, raisins, granola, biscuits, gravy, coffee, milk, cranberry juice, orange juice, apple juice and water. The staff is very accommodating and polite. I have no complaints other than it is under construction and there is no air in our 4th floor hallway but there of course is air in the rooms and lobby. read more

What a mess of a hotel, undergoing a major renovation and the hotel mentioned they are going through a renovation, however not mentioning that you cannot get to the desk. Young woman on duty was rude and extremely nasty, and my husband is disabled and no one was available to assist him with our luggage. The hotel is in awful condition and truly not safe for guests. Instead of apologizing the front desk threatened me and call the police! No a very hospitable place and called the customer service number at Choice with no assistance. Then the "front desk" was knocking on our door inquiring who was in the room? Someone had tried the door and I assumed that there was a mix up in the room. This occurred at almost 9:30pm! Did not take photos of the mess this place is in, wish I had. I definitely do not think the hotel should not be open in the renovation stage. The lobby has a stone offensive odor from glue, and should be not open, unsafe stay. Do not use this facility. read more

I called Friday evening with no reservation 30 min before arrival asking if they had any 1 bed availability The woman I spoke with over the phone said yes and that there were multiple rooms available at the moment. I told her perfect I'll be there. 30 min later I arrive and head to the desk to purchase my room for 1 night stay and they told me they were all booked and nothing was available... Turns out everything was bought out within the 30 min it took me to arrive So I went out to my car to look to see if anything else was available so late on the evening when the lady ran out to hurry up and grab me before I had left saying that a previous tenants card had gotten declined and there was an availability for me!!!! Call it crazy luck but she also didn't have ti come outside to find me either! And not only was she able to get me a room she was able to knock down the price as well from 180 to 120! Such a great hotel! The room was huge and very, very comfy! We had a king sized bed and a sitting area with a pullout couch, coffee table, & tv! The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had in quite a while. Delicious! They had an indoor pool & gym too! I just wished I had had the time to enjoy them. This hotel was great. This was a halfway point for me on my way down to Texas and it was a very enjoyable stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and the hotel in general was very clean. The rooms were pretty big and had a pull out bed in the couch. There is also a continental breakfast that was pretty large and well stocked. It was also very close to Memphis, TN so I did some sight seeing while I was in town for the night. The hotel was only about 20 minutes from Graceland and some other downtown sights. I notified the manager and was told they weren't responsible because i booked it online. I have been on the phone with Choice Hotels since and no one will take responsibility for the error. We stopped here last night because the reviews were excellent......not impressed. Super old hotel. Our room was dirty. Thick dust film all over the baseboards. Cracked sink, no water pressure and the walls were so thin we could hear everything. People talked about how awesome the breakfast was, if you like to eat out of crockpots this is your place. Hotel staff is so nice, but when it comes to the room, it's another story. Tried to flush the toilet, only to investigate further and the water line had been shut off. The worker had said that it was just a "small leak " and she would put towels around it to soak up any excess. At 730am the next morning we got a call asking if we could leave/move rooms because the water had leaked downstairs. How is this our problem? Why should we be punished because for the lack of care given to this situation? Bottom line, don't stay here. Loving this place the more I look around! It is set off the road enough that there's no traffic noise and very little annoying light coming through the windows, which my husband would love. The bed was soooo cumfy, very soft. Seems they're still working on some minor details, bulbs, wires, but otherwise, it's very clean, well taken care of, well laid out. We chose this hotel for the location. It's right across the highway from Southland Park. The two stars are for the five minute drive to this attraction and the property's effort to upgrade and remodel. However, less attention should have been put into the cosmetic upgrades and more, much more, into SOUNDPROOFING. This place is loud. Doors slamming all night kept us up, we heard people talking and felt vibrations through the walls. No business center to print documents, but the breakfasy Choice brand hotels are usually our "go to" but in this case, go somewhere else. But the bathroom is pretty.was good. read more

My wife and I checked in around 2:30 pm and parked near the front door. The desk clerk told us our car was safe, we had asked because we were traveling with a carload. Around 4:00 pm in broad daylight the GM called to tell me I had 2 smashed windows and missing property. She then informed us that this is not anything new. Memphis has a reputation of being unsafe and I'll venture that it extends to the neighboring towns like W. Memphis. They get one star because everyone was friendly at the front desk, the lobby was very pretty and even had cool antiques. This place gets a bad rating because the rooms are dirty. The towels were discolored, smelled weird on some of them, there was dust on the counter in the bathroom probably don't wipe down the whole bathroom when people leave. The bedroom was about the same. We didn't feel comfortable putting things on the desk or table. The refrigerator made loud noises all night and the alarm clock went off at 5am because someone had switched the lever to alarm. We could overlook some of these things, but at $150 and then tax it was way over priced for the value of the room. read more
