Front desk person stayed wrapped in blanket on couch in lobby. She was too cold to help much. Don't stay here.

Room was spacious with fridge, microwave and cooktop. We were downstairs by the elevator and at times could hear others, but wasn't bad. Appears to have been recently remodeled, but had a poor contractor due to plaster and other items being all Over things like bathroom glass and tile. Would stay again while passing thru. They serve breakfast and Shirley was by far the best part of the place! She worked the breakfast area and was so friendly and helpful! She's an asset to the hotel.

Positives: *The staff was very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. *Clean hotel with spacious rooms. *Quiet area to stay in. Negatives: *Paid parking. I was not expecting to have to pay for parking here, it was just a standard lot for the hotel. I went back and looked at booking, and the parking fee is hidden in a drop down. So, if you don't select that drop down, you will never notice it until you arrive at the hotel. Just another way for them to add on additional fees at an already pricey hotel. *The bathroom tub did not have a plug to hold the water. May have just been our room, though. *Breakfast was not setup timely. We had an early flight, but thought we would grab a quick breakfast before heading out. The delay of setting up breakfast is not thinking about early travelers. Not a bad option for a hotel, but I would also look at alternatives.

I have stayed in other AVID locations before and they are all consistent in their appeal, decor and vibe. I was in the Southaven area for business and booked this hotel from the IHG app as the price for my stay was very affordable. The AVID Hotels all offer a clean, bright new polished look with many amenities that are traveller-friendly. The Lobby and downstairs area are designed for work and play with many areas to plugin or congregate with friends and family. The check-in is seamless and the staff at this hotel are very helpful. My room was the standard AVID layout, smaller in space but packed with an ergonomic layout that used every inch of usable space in the rooms. The beds are comfortable and the rooms have plenty of USB and power outlets for your devices. The bathroom was spotless and had enough towels for a one-night stay. The fitness center is another highlight of the AVID brand as each of the workout areas is packed with modern equipment. The equipment includes several cardio machines, free weights and kettlebells as well as accessories like ropes, foam rollers, attachments for the universal cable machines and mats for floor work. You can get a very fulfilling workout in an AVID hotel's fitness center. The food choices at breakfast are limited but come with hot and cold items which are replenished throughout the breakfast service. There is also a gourmet coffee machine if you are looking for a good cup of coffee. Overall another great stay in an AVID hotel.

----- -----…read more Great Staff, Room, & Breakfast - - - - - - - - March, 2024 Visit - - - We visited Santa Rosa Beach for spring break, in March, 2024. We initially planned to drive straight through, on Sunday; then late Friday we realized that and breaking the drive into two days and leaving on Saturday would be nicer, so that's what we did. We left home a little later than planned on Saturday night, and arrived in Memphis / Southaven later than we figured, ~ 1:45am. We were tired and happy to be there, for it was bed time... and as we got situated in our room, the clock changed for daylight saving's time and we saw, for the first time ever, the clocks on our phones change from 1:59am to 3:00am... ... and that quick arrival + check-in was possible (15 min from lobby to in bed) was thanks to Kadarius' friendly and speedy help checking us in. The Residence Inn is located with three other Marriott hotels / properties / brands, all on the same street, aptly named... Sleepy Hollow... hats off to all who made this street name possible! :) In the morning, we slept in enough to still get downstairs for a nice breakfast. While the dog and I enjoyed a morning walk, my wonderful wife made me a plate of biscuits and gravy - so nice! This Residence Inn is similar to so many others, for the style, room, food. The on-site team makes the difference... Ruth, Danielle, Kadarius and the rest of the staff are welcoming and helpful and they run a tight property. We're glad we stayed here. See you next trip! Thank you, Kadarius, Danielle and Ruth for providing great service on our visit! ----- ----- -----

I've stayed here on multiple occasions, there's not much around the hotel (other than 5 other…read morehotels which include 3 Marriott properties) but it's a fine hotel. There's a bit of wear & tear as one would expect from most hotels but everything was clean and honestly the bathrooms were better than average plus there was a full size stove as opposed to most Residence Inns where you just get two tiny countertop ceramic burners. Beds are pretty comfortable and the living rooms are not the most comfortable but okay, though the tiny little shampoo bottles are almost laughable for a long term stay hotel. Front desk staff was friendly and the breakfast is fairly standard for a Residence Inn but acceptable. If you're a wine drinker be aware that there doesn't appear to be a corkscrew anywhere on the property so bring your own, and if traveling with your dog they charge $100 per stay which is not ideal for a 1-2 night stay unless using points. I actually didn't intend to stay here on a recent trip and had instead booked a room at the newer TownePlace Suites next door but they decided to give away my 1 bedroom suite (about the first time this has happened in my 20 years of having Marriott/Starwood Platinum status) so I opted for the Residence Inn on two separate stays and was happy with the choice. A pretty good hotel for most.

The staff was so friendly and courteous upon entering the building.Sorry, I didn't get the name of the gentleman that checked us in but he was very professional and courteous. The check in was really quick. The rooms were so clean and smelled great. The facility workers were very friendly and asked if our room was ok and if we needed anything. Where does this happen other than 5 star hotels and resorts? Well here at the Holiday Inn South Haven. The location was quiet and most restaurants were within 1-3 miles from the hotel. The fitness center was small but provided what was needed for cardio and weights. The pool area looked clean and inviting with handicap accessibility. The breakfast buffet was fully stocked and clean. The employee that serviced the breakfast buffet was extremely sweet and kind. She also assisted with our family banquet in being a server. She was heartwarming. The entire 2 day stay was great! I would stay there again!

I was even advised to stay in Germantown, but I said hell no and went with the MS side, and I'm glad I did. The hotel is in the quiet section of the industrial and busy area, which is all chain restaurants and stores. But there was a sign advising people to not lock their cars. Still, it was a great place to stay. Staff were great, as well as the people that worked in the bar/restaurant. They do have a pool. Breakfast is not free (but there are plenty of other choices nearby). Bed and room were great.
