I have to give this visit 5 stars. We were immediately seated, our server Alyssa was right there to take our drink and then food order. She delivered a healthy pour of their delicious red blend house wine and unsweetened iced tea. Then came the salad and their wonderful rolls. Whenever we are in town, we have to visit Pasta House for my hubs' favorite bolognese sauce and meatballs. And I always get the chicken livers and fettuccine dish (I realize a small population would enjoy this dish and I am their #1 fan). I was seated immediately, server approached as soon as I sat down. I put in my order. I was quickly served salad and rolls. The salad was in an extremely small bowl instead of on a plate as usual. The salad consisted of various lettuces with no artichoke hearts, onions, pimentos or Parmigiano cheese. The dressing was straight vinegar. The server didn't offer cracked pepper. The rolls were warm, but the butter was straight from the fridge, cold and hard. A big red flag went off when my pasta was served. I've been to various Pasta House Restaurants in the area for decades. And every server always cautions that the plate is extremely hot, because they were just pulled from a convection oven. Today that warning wasn't given. When I touched the plate, it was room temperature. The food was slightly warmer. I told the server the food wasn't very warm. She took it back to the kitchen. About 10 minutes later the manager brought the food back. Again, the plate was cool to the touch, and I could smell that the pasta was burned when he sat it down. It's obvious they are microwaving the pasta. I could barely choke down a few bites. I wasn't given a glass of water, salt, pepper, cheese shaker or pepper flake shaker. I finished my beverage and counted 11 times the server, hostess or manager walked past my table without offering a refill. There was a total of 12 people in the section I was seated in at 4 separate tables. I grew up in St. Louis County and have been going various Pasta House locations since they first opened in the mid Seventies. I moved to Union about 7 years ago and was thrilled there was a Pasta House in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, this was only the latest and last time this franchise has been a horrible disappointment. The next time I feel like pasta, I'll drive into the county to a real Pasta House Company Restaurant. read more

When i went to put Parmigaino cheese on my shrimp the lid came off anD I had nothing but a full jar of parmigaino cheese on my -plate. He took care of it immedialtely and Gave me a new meal. Been many years since we had food from the Union Pasta House. We did take out due to Covid. The pasta - Alfredo and Tutti Mare were delicious; the fried portobello mushroom appetizer spectacular!!! Why did I only give 3 stars - the std side salad Was if the damn thing was left on the counter for hours!!! Soggy, super wilted, wet thru, opaque lettuce leaves. Would not feed this to an animal...... Will learn our lesson on that! Again rest of the meal was excellent!! Will we go back, YES, just no take out salad! read more

Updating my review.... This was the last place that you could count on every time to get your order right, presumably the last one on the planet, and with their passing the species is now extinct. Maybe someday scientists will replicate their DNA and bring their kind back to life, but we probably shouldn't count on it. Staying at 3 stars but only because I'm generous - quality continues to slide, and the once-abundant fresh rolls they used to give you are now being rationed - I was told while ordering that my order should be good enough for a couple of them. The food is still better than McDonalds, but nowhere near what you expect from Pasta House. 3 stars - it's more than 2 rolls. read more

I know several of the employees at this establishment. And have seen and heard of them being mistreated and wrongfully yelled at by the management staff. One in particular. I won't name names. Also one employee in particular just lost they're dog and is sick as all get out tho still tried to go to work the very next day and got an ear full from this manager. This way of managing employees is quite rude and unorthodox. The better you treat your employees the harder they are willing and able to work for you. read more

I was extremely disappointed with the pizza I received in my carryout order this evening. The last time we ordered, everything was excellent. I had the Pasta Con Broccoli and my fiancee had pizza. Even though the pasta was uncommonly good, when I tried a piece of his pizza I told him that my favorite pizza was from The Pasta House and the next time we ordered, I was going to have pizza too. When we ordered tonight, I ordered the pizza with extra sauce, and this has never been an issue. Not only did the pizza I received not have extra sauce, but it hardly had any sauce at all. I also ordered mozzarella sticks, and they weren't much better. I guess that they were dropped as soon as my order went through. When I got home, they were already cold. Dinner was over $40 tonight, and it wasn't worth half that. read more

I've coincidentally been at 3 different Pasta House restaurants over the last four weeks. I've ordered exactly the same thing each time. Rigatoni Roma with no mushrooms or peas (Rigatoni noodles in our meat sauce with fresh sliced mushrooms, peas and prosciutto, topped with a béchamel cream sauce.) Oddly enough this one I ordered in Union, MO was actually the best of the three locations. It was served the hottest and freshest of them all but the portion was roughly half the size of the others. I get that some of these are franchises, most definitely this one, but I'm surprised it would be that inconsistent. Lots of help there and they all congregate in front near the station where they enter the orders. Other servers and customers had to maneuver around them. I pass through Union very regularly and had never stopped here before. I will certainly add it to my list. read more

I sat in the dining room and listened to the manager yell at a waitress for asking to go home with a 101 fever. I understand that this is Christmas Eve but that poor girl was absolutely pale in the face. I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly don't want to eat in a restaurant where employees are forced to stay and serve customers while they're sick. I hope they let that girl go home and I hope that manager is facing repercussions from the health department or a higher up. read more

We were looking for a pasta place near Union, Missouri and found the Pasta House. So glad we did. Toasted Ravioli came with a Bolognese sauce and it was fabulous. The baked ravioli and cheese ravioli were really good too. I loved the Chianti! Heather was a very sweet and helpful!!! read more

It was our first time visiting this establishment. My mother hadn't eaten at a Pasta House in over a decade. We had been car shopping all morning, and were thrilled to see a Pasta House less than a mile from the dealership. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Lisa. She asked if we had a preference for which side of the restaurant we sat on. We answered no, and she led us to the right side. My mom asked if they had booths. She said there were booths on the other side; I requested we be sat in a booth. Lisa rolled her eyes (I don't think she intended for me to see). I apologized, and informed her my mom prefers booths. She took our drink order, and we ordered ice waters. She rolled her eyes, again. This time with a scoff. My son ordered chocolate milk. A table was sat in the booth behind my mom to which Lisa was taking a drink order. My mom asked why the server was being rude, to which I said, "maybe because we ordered waters or requested a booth..I don't know." I think Lisa overheard part of that because the next time she came to the table, her attitude had done a complete 180. She smiled, and changed her tone; she was enthusiastic. The food was fantastic. We had bread, toasted ravioli, salads, pasta con broccoli, fettuccine, and dessert. It was hot and so delicious! The portions, especially for the lunch menu, were incredibly generous. So, why the 2 Star review? The eye rolling did leave a bad taste in my mouth, but my real issue came whenever I was reconciling my bank account. I noticed the charge at Pasta House was different than what I had approved. We had paid with debit card, and left $9 and some change (above 20%). Whomever entered in my tip amount, removed the change from the tip. Changing the tip amount that has been signed, and approved, by the card holder is, to say the very least, bad business. read more

This place is great! I know it's a chain, but the salad is always fresh and does not taste like whitener which most places result to. The customer service is out of the park. They have great deals on drinks and make their own Bloody Mary Mix. Happy hour is Half Price appetizers for 2 hours. Half Price Pizzas after 830 on Saturdays. They have fantastic customer appreciation deal where the money you spend counts towards a gift certificate and when gas prices went crazy and the economy tanked a few years ago, they gave away 5.00 coupons. I love Union Pasta House. I have been to others and while the salad is still fresh, this one is the best. The manager is very customer oriented. The unlimited rolls only came in sets of two, so that was a little disappointing. And the butter tasted like coconut oil, which was strange, but really tasty. This review reflects food quality only, the staff was fine. But last night we went to Pasta House in Union, Mo for a celebratory dinner. I chose the chicken flamingo with a side if white pasta off the menu, did not order it special in any way. When the waitress brought my plate out, the pasta had been sitting long enough that it had soaked up the sauce and had formed a layer of dried crust on it. The sauce for the chicken (what little there was) had congealed and was quite cold. It was very disappointing. We had the waitress just take it off the check and ordered a piece a cheesecake.
