Bella Vintage - Vintage necklace! (with cat help)

Bella Vintage

Vintage, Retro. Antique ... all those things describe Bella Vintage, although vintage is probably a…read moremore accurate description. It's not a dusty, musty shop of goods that look as though they were dragged out of the garage or attic and nothing here appears to be a modern take on an antique. Things are old, but necessarily antique. So vintage it is, I guess There's a gift shop feel. The lighting is soft, and colors muted. Spread out amongst three rooms is about anything - from teapots, cookie jars, kitchen items and a great deal of miscellany -- to add an interesting accent to a room or a collection. Each room has an overall theme of a sort. One room seems to focus on kitchen, another on study or bedroom, and the main room has day to day items of home décor. Browsing is easy -- the aisles are wide enough to turn around without knocking something over, the placement of items keeps your eye moving. Unless searching for something specific -- and I'd recommend asking the owner, who apparently knows every item in the place -- spend time browsing. It might be a trip down memory lane for you, your parents, or even your grandparents.

Lured by the siren song of chairs, I wandered into this adorable store. It's wonderful. While it…read morelooks small from the outside, there is a large back/side room, and there is furniture! The aesthetic is that glowing, comfortable, homey feel of the "childhood" scenes in the new Little Women movie -- not the specific period (though I saw Eastlake dining chairs), but the sense of buying a classic piece that was part of a home and now it's going to be part of your home. It's all delightfully non-snooty, and the housewares aren't the same ones that show up in every antique mall. I ended up buying a necklace and am clutching the business card for the day when I buy a larger place.

Brooks Brothers - A look at the past. What an amazing work family this was.

Really disappointed in our recent purchase here. HUGE lack of attention to detail. My fiancé…read moreordered a brand new tuxedo a month ago and after 3 weeks of sending it away for tailoring, it came back with a weird bump in the shoulders, bunching in the back AND unfinished cuffs!!! For an almost $2,000 tuxedo, this is absolutely not acceptable. I even went in myself to switch out his tux shirt (which they measured him for the wrong size) yesterday and I found the service rep (Larry) to be very rude because there was no tag on the shirt we were exchanging (he was given it that way) - so after waiting awhile they finally looked it up under his name but gave me a lot of grief about it. But that customer service aside, the rep helping him Gerald, has been very nice and considerate, but in hindsight seems to have only cared about making a sale and not making sure he has the perfect tuxedo (as should be expected for Brooks Brothers). Since we flew out to VA from LA today, we are now going to have to pay a premium for last minute alterations since the store didn't do their job - I mean look at the cuffs! They didn't even bother to tailor one side, fix the buttons and wipe away the chalk (see photo). Completely unacceptable for the price of the tux in the first place, not to mention causing a lot of unnecessary stress on my fiancé to make sure it still looks good in time. I would hope someone from the store reads this and hopes to do right by him by compensating for the price we have to pay now and offering at least some sort of refund for the poor tailoring job in the first place.

(Kenny Chesney) My wife and I are attending an industry get together in Texas, and it's no surprise that guests are encouraged to wear Western clothes to the Welcome Party. I found something appropriate deep in the recesses of my closet, but my wife needed something to wear. So today's mission was to find her a suitable top at a reasonable price, which is why we visited Tractor Supply. I knew they specialized in that niche. We weren't disappointed. She found a very nice blue denim top for $24.99 with all sorts of buttons and stitching that will be totally appropriate. Tractor Supply is a very cool store -a Super Store if you will with departments featuring tools, truck and tractor supplies, farm equipment, animal feed, a big pet department, food (jerky, chips, salsa, candy), furniture, sporting goods, clothes, furniture, work gear, and lawn and garden. We were delighted by what we found in their lawn and garden department- flats of flowers marked down to $1, $0.50, and even $0.10 per flat. We scooped up some flowers at those rock bottom prices to plant around our light pole and by the front stairs. Oh, and I got a red bandana ($3.99) to add some more Western flair for my Welcome Party look. Yee Haw, y'alls !!!!!!!
