This is our go to place for a local breakfast. The staff here are always nice and prompt. The food is very well priced and delicious. My only complaint is the decor. It's plain with too many photos on the wall of their family. Cute family, but I feel family photos aren't meant for decorating purposes for a restaurant. read more

Ordered two steak breakfast specials, very friendly waitress, however, there was a hair in my mushroom gravy then my boyfriend found a string seeming to be from an article of clothing in his home fries. Both items were removed from the bill and as we were leaving one waitress says, "are you sure you didn't purposely do that?!" Very rude and really, we only ate 1/4 of our breakfast! Not sure if they treat all their customers like that, was it me being African American or my boyfriend having a bunch of tattoos?Either way we will not come here again. read more

Excellent local diner. My wife had their version of a Western omelette that I sampled with delight and I enjoyed a nicely cooked strip sirloin steak with eggs over easy. The special which I vow to try on my next visit was steak benidect, (Bet you didn't see that coming). And even more intriguing they offer home made hash with peppers & spicy Italian sausage, Mama Mia! I gotta try some of that. So rest assured I'll be back. Coming from a food background, we were looking for a place to eat with a home town feel. Well we found it! We walked in and the place has pictures of kids hanging on the wall and it was not over decorated. The waitress came and was very friendly, she was also very knowledgeable about the menu items. We decided on the breakfast special of steak and eggs, the steak was cooked just the way we ordered it and was not juicing all over the plate. This is where the locals eat. A hidden gem on Main Street right on the way to the beach. You are greeted and served hot coffee the moment you sit down. Large grous are accomodated here and children are king here. If you are allergic to gluten they have grits, the only place that serves them. The steak and eggs special which costs only $7.95 is cooked to your order and is great. Friendly, fast and accurate service makes this place a good destination. We ended up at Amanda's Pantry about 7 am on a Tuesday. There were a few locals chatting over coffee on stools by the one TV, but there were plenty of tables free and a friendly greeting from the server. The restaurant was clean and pleasant. The food was fantastic and plentiful. An allergy was handled carefully. Eggs, omelets, pancakes, home fries... all delicious! The spicy hash was spicy enough not to require extra hot sauce, which is a rarity in our family! So my Fiance and I are new to the area and we decided to try Amanda's Pantry. The Reviews here on yelped seemed like it would be a good idea. I rarely complain about my food but this time I had to. I ordered the "BST omelet" which had bacon, Spinach and Tomato and that was all that suppose to be in there according to the menu. Well when it came out I started eating it and quickly began to realize that there was sausage in my omelet. Now I do not eat sausage and can not eat it because I get very sick from it. So without telling my Fiance what I found, I had him try it and I said what do you taste in there and he responded, oh that's totally Italian Spicy Sausage, Yup he was right. I know what it tastes like and thats was for sure what it was, texture taste and everything. So I kindly mentioned it to my waitress and explained that I can not eat sausage and she was great and took it back and asked them if their was sausage in there and they said they checked and looked. So she brought it back out and says, so they cook checked and they said there is no sausage in there. She was nice and did offer to get me something else if I wanted it, but at that time my Fiance was almost done with his and I didn't want to wait. So we switched meals and he even said, "there totally is sausage in this" We are both Italian so we know our meats, regardless if I can eat it or not. Hockey tournament family from new York. Stopped in for breakfast from the new london ferry. Place is a cool old school style eatery. Looks like a locals only place but they are kind and friendly. I enjoyed the eggs over medium atop the excellent corned beef hash. Side of potatoes was cooked perfect and seasoned great. Wife loved the scrambled eggs probably cooked with milk which made them fluffy and tastey. My son devoured the scrambled eggs as well and enjoyed the crisp fresh not frozen bacon. My daughter loved the huge belgium waffle that was also very fresh and fluffy. I ordered the grits to give the kids a good they've never tried (long Island doesn't know what grits are). They were kinda bland but my daughter liked them with butter. Overall a great joint and extremely cheap. 2 adults, 2 kids $30 bucks. 5 stars from the long Island hockey family. read more

The waitress was good, food was okay but when our check came out is where the service had changed. The waitress made a comment how we are being indirectly kicked out by the owner. Who was watching us from the backroom. As we waited for our check to come back and finished our beverages, another waitress came and cleaned out our plates and put a reserve sign down. Then the OWNER came over looking all irritated to check on when we were leaving. I explained not to worry we know were getting kicked out and are leaving. She then said with a attitude we had been there a while and the table became reserved. Mind you we had a party of five got the food half way through and were just approaching an hour mark. So if you go there to be sure to inhale your food, do not stay and mingle at all or you'll get kicked out by the owner, as she's only money hungry. Went Sunday morning the week before Memorial Day. Place was packed but they got the 8 of us seated in 10 minutes. Waitress was great, got the kids their juice and us the coffee within a few minutes. Ordered the country fried steak with scrambled eggs and a half order of biscuits and gravy. Kids all had pancakes, brother had eggs and French toast and sister in law had the breakfast fajita. All of the food was perfect. They forgot my biscuits and gravy and gave me a full order at half price along with a sincere apology. I visit Rhode Island often and will make it a regular stop. Sloppy and unprofessional. They have a high turnover with staff because certain people, (not going to name names because word gets around very fast regardless), are highly distasteful. Besides for the two people in particular, Sandy and Cindy are among my two favorite waitresses as I sit in their section every time- I guess you could say I used to be a regular. I don't go anymore as I witnessed how poorly the staff is treated. Good food, mostly great people, but not worth it. read more
