My review will cover Stefani's barre class. I was first introduced to barre in 2019 and I've fallen in love with the practice. Stefani's barre class at Facet Seven Heights is my absolute favorite! Stefani is very upbeat, personable, fun, and extremely energetic! Her class is great for beginners and those who are advanced in the practice! She always has a fun playlist to rock out to and it makes the class even more fun! If you visit this gym, I definitely recommend checking out Stefani's barre class. She teaches on Mondays at 7:10pm, Thursdays at 6:20 or 6:35pm (sorry I can't remember), Saturdays at 10:35am, and Sundays at 9:45am.

Instantly when I started taking classes at Facet Seven I appreciated the community and friendliness at the front desk, members, and the instructors as well. I mainly take Stefani's barre, yoga, and ABC class but also have enjoyed HIIT and strengthcon with Emma. Stefani is a bright light and makes working out so fun but also challenging. Emma similarly looks to challenge but is also motivating and provided me modifications when needed with an injury, looking out for me when I didn't realize I could re-injure something without even knowing. The gym has a variety of equipment but is on the smaller side, so it's easier to see and get to know regulars in your class but also meet new people. Highly recommend!

The trainer spends the entire class talking over a PA system--mostly just shouting verbal encouragement and counting down time blocks rather than providing actual coaching. During my time on the rowing and weight floor stations, the floor routine was displayed on a TV screen. Almost none of the prescribed exercises were friendly for my body, so I spent most of the session wasting time trying to modify movements on the fly without any real guidance or form correction. By the end of the workout, I felt frustrated and left knowing that Orangetheory's style of fitness is definitely not a good fit for me.

So in the heart of River Oaks, this expensive fitness center is absolutely full of beautiful people all the time. Not including myself because I'm not that pretty. It's on the expensive side doesn't have the bare bones gym stuff that I require, because it's more geared towards specialized fitness classes, but I love it anyway, and it's perfect for River Oaks, perhaps just not perfect for me.

Well, as cheesy as this may sound, just going to this boot camp for two weeks has helped me in ways beyond healthiness. They are just so darn positive at mean green! Its infectious! I can only vouch for the woodland park location, where I am trained by Dez. I mean she is just phenomenal. And I am not pulling your chain, she stresses positive reinforcement throughout, and it's not just lip service. I can tell she equally believes in positivity in her everyday life and work as a trainer. She goes above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable, and gives everyone individual attention / motivation. I truly have found myself chanting the mantras during the day..lol.. "I can do this. Today is going to be great. I will have a great day no matter what." Granted I feel a tinsy bit silly, but it really helps. Some important details to note: * since it is an outdoor bootcamp my allergies have been bugging me a bit. * I bought this bootcamp through groupon, but otherwise it may have been out of my price range. Considering this, I am contemplating renewing my next six weeks with a half off coupon from the camp. That's how much I like it, and I am openly frugal. * Because of my groupon, I am not 'full access.' Full access members get initiated, and turn in food charts and weigh in. I want to do all these things so badly to get back on track. All in all, dez is a phenomenal trainer, and this boot camp is very personable in nature. They aim to get to know you and your goals and help you achieve them. AND if motivation is what you are really lacking, which was my issue, this place is great for you.

For $60 a month you get unlimited classes, which are held Tuesday through Thursday at 6am, 5:30pm, and 6:30pm - that's only $5 a class. She will push you to your limits and then some, and you will do more in her class than you ever dreamed possible. And each class is completely different, you will always be challenged by the diversity. She runs the class in a way that all fitness levels are welcomed and are able to complete the class, and there are some extremely fit people in class as well who are also challenged by the workout. She is emphatic about all classmates treating each other with respect and encouragement. Believe me, you will appreciate the encouragement, since some days when you get home from class it will be a tough decision, whether you want to eat dinner or puke. :) Dawne goes above and beyond the role of trainer, is extremely supportive of all her boot campers, and is a great person at heart and a great friend. She sends out a monthly newsletter that has nutrition information, race information, fun profiles of your classmates, and all kinds of inspirational quotes and sayings. Dawne is great at mixing it up and keeping you on your toes. This is the only bootcamp I would personally recommend.

Then just show up for a class. You have to use them in 4 weeks or you lose them, so that means committing to at least 2 a week. You'll feel the difference in a week - I've gotten so much stronger already, and I've only been to 4 sessions so far. As for the difficulty of the workouts, yep, it's tough. The great thing is that it's geared for women, and they make lots of suggestions about modifying exercises if they're too difficult for you in the beginning. If you're not into the boot camp thing, they also do personal training. Check 'em out for that too!

Fast forward to now, when I renewed my ClassPass for a month trial, RYDE was the very first class I booked because it was my favorite. I've tried other cycling establishments, but RYDE reigns superior. The studio is clean and modern. And the bathrooms are equipped with everything a girl will need, and they have Aesop soap! That's all that I need to say. I am a regular rock climber, but once I phase out of that, I can definitely see myself being a RYDE regular. If you are on the fence about giving cycling here a chance, please do yourself a favor and try it out. It is like a party, but you're putting your energy into biking. I'm not sure when I will be back because I currently cannot justify paying almost $300 a month for a membership, but I look forward to my next visit to RYDE!
