I was so excited to see that one of these opened up in Laguna, so I had to go check it out. They are in a great location right across from main beach...iconic!!! The interior is really cute as well, making the experience really fun. I had to try their original cone flavor, which was a great balance of fruity and chocolate/nutty flavors. I also tried one of their seasonal flavors which was layers of orange and strawberry. I would recommend bringing a cup with you, however, as this did get a little messy. You get A LOT of ice cream here. Overall I was really happy with my sweet treat. It was a little bit busy, and the scooping seems labor intensive, so be prepared to wait if there's a line. We came about 30 min before closing on a Sunday night and it was still bustling with families coming in wanting to see what this Chicago based ice cream is all about. The service was superb, the manager was still there. Incredibly friendly and telling us that the Chicago location was her hometown ice cream shop growing up. Their ice cream is sliced not scooped and they are here to stay because of the prime location in front of the beach. Love the bright colored designs inside and just bubbling with excitement as they serve you your ice cream. They have ice cream cake, mini donuts, cake slices on top of the original one we bought which has pistachio, strawberry, chocolate, orange sherbet, palmer house on a waffle cone. This new ice cream shop originally from Chicago just opened up right across the street from the main beach in Laguna and it's the perfect stop for beach day treat. The shop is really cute with a pink theme and everyone working here is friendly and welcoming. You can order at the register or at a kiosk. They're known for their rainbow ice cream cone which consists of 5 ice cream flavors (chocolate, strawberry, palmer house, pistachio almond and orange sherbet) layered in a really cool way. The ice cream was creamy and delicious. I really liked the palmer house flavor because I love cherry ice cream. A small ($6.49) was plenty and could even be shared. If a rainbow cone isn't your thing, you can make your own flavor combination or get normal scoops too. They also have milkshakes, sundaes and mini donuts. The Original Rainbow Cone just opened in Laguna Beach and the store interior is absolutely beautiful and cute! All the employees were extremely welcoming and answered all my questions. However, I will say the ice cream itself did not surprise me. 1.) The size of the small scoop is $6 and it was small for the price. 2.) The flavor was not rich at all and the texture was a bit off and icy. My parents got the pistachio walnut flavor and did not taste the pistachio flavor at all. It tasted artificial and said it kind of tasted like a watered down mint flavor. I got the chocolate peanut flavor and it was okay. Maybe we got a bad batch this day but this does not stand out in terms of flavor for other gelato/ ice cream places around here. read more

I was walking by and actually heading to another ice cream shop but then I saw the sign for the rainbow ice cream cone and my eyes naturally lit up.....I had to stop in and try it. And it did not disappoint! I was skeptical on if I should include the orange sherbet and I'm glad I didn't modify it because it was great as it was and all the flavors come together so well. It was also so well priced, each cone was $6 and their small came with plenty of ice cream. The texture of the ice cream could not be more on point and it was not overly sweet either which I liked. It was a really cute photo op and the flavors were delicious. My friends got the rainbow cone and I got the chocolate version. Both were really good but I preferred the chocolate a tad bit more. My family and I went here for dessert. The moment you walk in, you smell sugar cone, an absolutely divine aroma. My family did not order anything with gummy worms, however...I noticed this one employee, Max, taking their time to meticulously place each gummy worm on the cone, and it was a work of art.
