I love TOPH, perhaps a litttle too much because every time hubs goes to get inked nearby, I insist he bring home a bag of the peanut chocolate drizzle popcorn. It's crack, quite literally. The popcorn house is such a cute little shop. They have so many different flavors of popcorn you can choose from. You can also sample the popcorn before deciding on which one you want. We opted for a tin of the caramel, cheddar bacon popcorn, and birthday cake flavored corn. All were quite tasty. Customer service was great. The lady who served us was very friendly and let my children try which ever flavor of popcorn they wanted. I highly recommend this popcorn shop for anyone who is a fan. read more

I've searching for a good popcorn maker since Garrett's closed their NYC location a couple of years back. I did some research and came across The Original Popcorn House site last week. Based on the reviews, I decided to order the House Mix. OMG. Yum, yum, yum. I am all in. They have found a new customer. It was shipped quickly in a brown resealable bag and tastes as fresh as can be. My hubby and I can't stopped eating it. We will have to order some more in the near future. I will definitely be ordering for family and friends. It's affordable and extremely tasty and I am a popcorn fanatic. So I know what I am talking about. This place is amazing! We stopped in yesterday while visiting Frederick and were so blown away by all of the tasty popcorn flavors. The staff working there were very friendly and let us try as many flavors as we wanted. Our favorites were the loaded baked potato and the salt and vinegar popcorn. They also had a special for July (Christmas in July) where they brought back a lot of their popular holiday flavors. We tried some of these as well and they were super tasty, but ultimately we wanted savory popcorn so we got a bag of the loaded baked potato and movie theatre butter. WHAT! How long has this place been in existence?? Because I was walking by and noticed it and wanted to stop in. I had otherwise never heard of it. We went in and the very nice woman working there was offering us samples of anything we wanted to try. They were all very excellent (I liked the movie theater butter flavor!) but it was game over when I tried the spicy buffalo. Spicy is hard to do. You have to make it spicy enough, but also have a good flavor. They delivered. I got some to go, and I'm eating it as I write this review, and already ready to go back and get more. I LOVE popcorn so when I was in Frederick for business- I was so happy to see the Original Popcorn House on Market Street. We went in and saw the array if flavors and smelled popcorn popping. Few flavors had any appeal - I tried the movie thester - WAY too salty. I tried the caramel - they give you 3 kernels for a taste - and reluctantly decided to get some of that. I didn't notice prices posted anywhere (later saw them inconspicuously posted) and ordered a medium. Then I smelled popcorn being popped and asked for a small of that and added some salt. I was stunned when a small and medium popcorn rang up at $25!!!! I said nothing, paid and left. After a few real bites of the caramel - I threw it away. It quickly tasted a bit like popcorn that had a funny, sweet shellacked taste. The plain popcorn was OK - though the big kernels had BIG husks. A smaller kernel makes MUCH better popcorn. Came here a few days ago and I appreciated the cleanliness. The staff was VERY friendly and guided us in trying new flavors. At one point, a phone alarm was going off and the staff took his glove off to turn the alarm off, threw away the old glove and grabbed a new one. And I like that you can sample everything and that they have a variety of sizes (although almost $7 for a mini bag of the chocolate flavors is a bit steep). Today was their soft opening and it was a little chaotic with such a small storefront and a strange layout where you work your way to the side and rear to see the menu, then work your way back to the front to pay.
