Went for the first time this morning and they were extremely busy, all the workers were working as fast as possible and getting the food out quickly. Mine took a little longer than quoted but with how many people were waiting, I still think it was an excellent job. The bacon, egg and cheese on Jalapeño bagel was excellent. The perfect amount of each ingredient and the bagel was toasted perfectly. The only disappointing part was that I also got a sun dried tomato bagel and it was not good, only one piece of sun dried tomato in the whole bagel. It was more like a plain bagel. I have been in the habit of buying bagels from the grocery store or Dunkin. I went into this location to get a breakfast sandwich (which was very tasty) and decided to try their freshly made blueberry bagels. I was surprised to find there is a huge difference between mass-produced bagels and these. Maybe it is that they are made fresh, or maybe they have a special way of doing it. I tried this place for the first time and ordered the bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel . I must say is was very good. The bagel tasted like they baked them Fresh daily (I believe they do). I came here for a dozen bagel because they had the best reviews of any bagel shop in Newark. The ratings are deserved! They have a great selection of fresh bagels: a few of the options are on the sweet side like blueberry and cinnamon but most are the savory variety that I prefer. They offer at least nine different flavors of cream cheese, and their selection of sandwiches, salads, and omelets is mind-blowing! Their customer service is top-notch, too. Haven't been here in almost two years. Called in an order and drove to pick it up. I waited a little over an our, people arriving after me were getting their orders before me. Then to find out, my order was given to someone else. LOOK AT THE RECEIPTS BEFORE GIVING THE FOOD TO THE CUSTOMER. They don't cook to sequential order, they need a separate cook station for online order/deliveries and have to cook food in sequence as the orders are made. They are constantly remaking orders because Information flow is disrupted and they lose track. They should be grateful a Dunkin Donuts doesn't open next to them because DD would take all of their angry customers who waited 1.5 hrs for two sandwiches. read more

I've had 2 bagel sandwiches and bought some extra bagels so far, and omg these are so good! The first time we doordashed breakfast and the sandwiches were still hot and the bagels so soft. Everything on the basic breakfast sandwich is the correct portion and is just right. The cheddar bagel is definitely my favorite. The other flavors we've tried so far are onion and cinnamon raisin. Bagels are the best short of a drive to NY. I drive to Newark passing all other bagels to get these. Even told my friends 'it's worth the drive. Today I go get my dozen from the familiar counter person who's friendly on most visits. After she bags my dozen I thought it'd be nice to get another one. I wanted to share one with my son. I'm diabetic and can't eat more than 1/2. My son can't have cream cheese. The counter person said no and motioned that they put the cream cheese on 1/2 and put the other on top. I said can you just not put the 1/2 on top? She said no "we can't." I tried to explain why I wanted my order as if I should have to right? She said you can get 2 bagels one with and one without. So I said forget it then I'll just take the dozen. Having been in the service business for 40 years I know an owner would never opt to lose a sale. I mumbled this place has great bagels but the service today sucks. Hearing me she says "excuse me?" I said there was no good reason you couldn't accommodate me. Including offering to put the cream cheese on the side. She then said oh yea sure we can do that. Do you want it? I said no. I won't be back. They won't miss my dozen every 2 months business. They're always busy and packed because either others get better service or their other customers are willing to accept it. I'll be looking for bagels elsewhere. Driving 20 miles to get bagels with shitty service isn't worth it. Too bad. read more

Recently made two visits. For one of our visits I called them in advance to alert them to a small crowd of visitors for a special event on Sunday afternoon. They were pleasant and accommodating on the phone and let us know their shop was only able to seat 16 guests. We came in with our group and ended up in the parking lot with our gang eating bagels and enjoying a make shift picnic in the sun. They mixed up one of our orders and had to remake it but overall the experience was terrific. Marco Polo was out of this world. My preferred spot. Convenient in the morning to grab a bagel whilst on the go. Easy location with amble parking and good customer service. I enjoy their bacon, egg, and cheese and sometimes switch it up with their steak, egg, and cheese on either a Pumpernickel or Black Russian Bagel. Trust me, they are not skimpy with the meats. They also serve hot sandwiches and some comes with a side of fries if bagels aren't your thing. Will be back to try their lox soon. Flavored cream cheeses sat on the counter but no prices. There were many workers busy making sandwiches so obviously they have a following. Since they were closed on Christmas Day, I stopped by the next day to pick up a dozen bagels. Located in a small strip mall, this place looks very unassuming from the outside, but don't be fooled--great bagels await you within! Of the dozen, I tried the following flavors: cheddar cheese, everything, and cinnamon raisin. My favorite was the cheddar, which has cheese melted onto the outside that sizzles when toasted. The everything and cinnamon could have used a bit more adornment, but were still delicious. The most remarkable thing about these bagels, however, is their taste and texture. In terms of taste, they have that slightly malty flavor characteristic of a good bagel. In terms of texture, when toasted, the outside is crisp, giving way with a satisfying crunch when you bite into a toothsome, substantial-yet-light interior. The day I purchased them, the bagels were extremely fresh, but even over the next couple of days, they remained good and didn't taste stale. Now that I live in a city that has no good bagel places, I really appreciate having a place that makes fresh, delicious NY-style bagels nearby. What a neighborhood gem! I was there yesterday for the first time a I was disappointed. I ordered a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel with cheese,Pepper and ketchup and coffee. The sandwich did not taste anything like a raisin bagel I didn't know what it was . I ate it because I did not want to wait another 15 minutes again for them to get it right and pre COVID I would have taken it back and complain. The coffee was ok and by the time I drank it . It was cold. Be careful about parking in the lot . It very tight and I can only imagine the many accidents that happened there. I am going to give this place one more chance . This place has fantastic food, wonderful hard-working people and I've done a lot of business with them over the years. But the reason it's getting only four stars and not five is because far too often there are multiple sources of music inside both of which are playing too loud. This in turn results in the employees screaming at each other in order to hear each other. I respect the fact that a lot of the equipment and food cooking makes a lot of noise, but folks! Today was particularly loud, to the point where I had a headache. I like to dine in, and wanted to invite a friend to join me but it was so loud I decided against it.
