I've passed this Patina so many times traveling through St. Paul. I've have wanted to check it but…read moreparking is extremely difficult in this ever busy area. We were finally able to get around to checking it out & I LOVE that when you walk in it's so bright and colorful with a plethora of items. Makes me so happy. This location is 2 floors of shopping. We didn't get down to the basement but the main floor had enough going on for me. If you never been to Patina, they sell home decor, gifts and such. The store is pretty randomly organized but in a cool look at everything way. Like you can be looking at display that's different pink items, or Mn themed or food themed. It is on the expensive side but overall good quality stuff.

The last six years we have spent more time in Florida and I had not been in a Patina store all that time. Yes, it is beautiful colorful fun and everything is displayed so perfectly. But the price points have SOARED and the uniqueness/quirkiness/extra special FUN has dropped considerably. The cards are lovely but not outstanding. Text is minimal. The entire store is more monochromatic in terms of product designs/ concepts/unique creativity. The buyers are good but not excitingly wonderful anymore. There was no service at the St Paul Highland store. A tall gentleman was aloof, just "there" to check out... Sad.

The staff has always been friendly and helpful when I have visited. There is no parking lot available but I have found free street parking within the block. This review had been updated…read more July 11th, 2024, I had visited this location. They had a wide variety of stones and crystals including song/singing bowls and books. The two key items purchased: I had purchased what is one of, to date, my favorite spheres that I own. I own over a dozen. (A flawless Flower Agate Sphere, I cannot express or put into words how stunning it is, truly, it is beautiful) and the second is a remarkable Moss Agate Tower and it is MASSIVE ‐ it could have it's own gravitational pull, it emits thick and healthy energy and is damn near perfect.) From my observation, all of the stones were high quality. As someone who has been in the spiritual & stone/crystals business since 2013, I can say I've had my fair dealings with stores that sell crystals and stones and I can spot a "fake shop" a mile away, this place is legit. I can say with confidence, I didn't question or have doubts about anything they had available. If you're ever in this location, visit. The owner, cares about their customers experiences. There were two people working, one welcomed when entering, however the other had more of a "I'd rather not be here" vibe - my facial expressions are subtitles so I understand lol. We are human. After hearing from the owner, it changed my mind entirely which is why I am correcting this review. They contacted me regarding my review within 24 hours. As a business owner, I respect that. When a business owner is that attentive, they don't let incidents slip. Which makes me believe I made the mistake and misunderstood. With that being said, again, if you're ever in this area, check this place out. You could very well leave with something that could be the center piece of your collection or the perfect gift for a loved one. Even if that loved one just so happens to be you and you loved it so much you couldn't leave without it.. so.... yep.... I've been that loved one a few times.

However, today when I went.. not such an amazing experience. I got there around 615 (they close at 7) thinking thats enough time and not too close to the closing time.. wrong. I'm roaming around taking my time and I end up in a part of the store where they are vacuuming and two employees are basically yelling at eachother. Then another employee comes up and yells saying that they can't lock the back door and to go unlock it IMMEDIATELY. Weird vibes and I was just feeling... not chill or relaxed. Then I'm ready to check out and I'm waiting a solid 5-10 minutes while one of the three employees does a return for a customer. I ended up not purchasing anything cause the coupon I had didnt apply to my items because they were final sale items (thats fine I didnt read the fine print, my fault). Again. The store itself is lovely and has a lot of cool fun things but the experience due to those working there was not my typical happy fun experience.
