Been going to O'Pub a few days a week since I turned 21 (I'll be 23 this year) and I love this bar. The place is always clean, the staff if always friendly (doesn't hurt that they know me by name), and the drinks are fairly priced. Overall great atmosphere! I'll miss it when I graduate! read more

With deals like Martini Monday and Wine Wednesday you can't really go wrong. They also have the best whiskey, bourbon, etc selection in Oxford. This is one of my favorite bars in Oxford. No. Seriously, no. The seating is only for tiny groups, but the place is so loud you can't hear people across the table. They do trivia, but it's truly awful; half the questions are stolen from r/askreddit, and the answers to many are wrong but the guy will not listen--he straight up told a biochem master's student he didn't know what he was talking about re: states of matter because he'd found a high school website on Google and that was clearly superior. With Kasi gone, there's just no reason to go. Edit: Bonus! Apparently the trivia douche thanked me by name last week, over the mic, to the whole bar, for "freeing up a seat." O'Pub is just a meh for me. I've been a few times now and have no special memories other than it just being a place that exists and I had a drink there. It's definitely discrete on the outside and dark on the inside, with tall Steins-esck booths within. At night it's very loud, with bands playing. However most people are sitting in the booths, which do not allow a line-of-sight to see the band playing. That's not frustrating at all... I understand that those folks looking for a chill bar at night that isn't a townie spot (Circle Bar) or in the basement (Steins) this is probably a good pick. However, its not at the top of my list for an alumni return. read more

Yeah! Finally, an alternative to Quarter Barrel. Don't get me wrong, I like QB and it holds a special place in my heart (and it's the only place with delicious craft beers on tap in Oxford). That said, O-Pub may become my preference in Oxford. The beers on tap are good but not amazing. Lots of variety and some good selections, and they have many many more in the bottle. The normal afternoon bartender is accommodating and will make anything you ask for. I taught her how to make a Snakebite. Score! She loves to look at pictures of the kids and listen to cute stories about them, too. Double score! There don't seem to be many students in here, which keeps the vibe very chill. They play good music in the background. The decor is nice dark wood and high-backed booths. All in all, a very chillin' spot. I'll be back for sure. read more

O'Pub is a nice alternative for the 21 and over crowd in Oxford Ohio. When you arrive it's hard to find the entrance if you don't know where you're going. Once inside, the ambiance is very dark. I've only been between the hours of 6pm-8pm and I was surprised at how dark it was. It isn't a huge place. There are booths that can fit 4-6 people, and a few tables. There is also bar seating at the bar. The bartenders have been friendly and nice. I was surprised that they don't have better beer options on tap. I guess given their location in a college town, having quality beers on tap isn't a priority. Even so, they have many options in bottles and cans. Overall, it's a nice place to go if you want to grab a drink or two in the early evening, especially if you're looking for a quieter place. read more

Really nice place. Great whiskey selection and good beer on tap. Also, they're going to start serving food in the not too distant future.

Drinks are pretty standard. I wouldn't say there is anything that special about this bar but the fact that you won't really run into undergrads here. The music sucks most of the time, but the bar looks cute during Christmas. read more
