Great little bar where we could bring the dog! Food was good and simple. Beer was cheap and we enjoyed the back patio. Would totally come back. Service took care of us and the dog. We really liked it here.

I asked the waitress because there were several things on the menu that interested me. Kennedy was willing to make suggestions but you had to ask and she admitted that she had never had the Fried Green Tomatoes. We ordered and it wasn't super fast but we got our food in a fairly short amount of time. While we waited, Kennedy filled our water cups and brought us more soda pop. It allowed us to find out that she's worked there for 3 years while attending Miami University. My son enjoyed his Cajun Chicken Sandwich and I LOVED the Fried Green Tomato BLT. We both sampled the Truffle Fries with mushroom seasoning and I'd say we gave the fries a very enthusiastic two thumbs up!!!!! Wait, if we both give them two thumbs up is that 4 four thumbs up? Oh never mind, anyway.......... Left Field Tavern is way back in a corner of the water tower area in Oxford. Left Field is exactly what I would call this area. I NEVER think of walking back there. But after finding them to be open and going inside - I would go back! It's a very large dining area and there appear to be outdoor seating options. I suspect that they open up the entire restaurant when they have enough demand and plenty of staff. It's not the food but the service that seems to keep this place out in "left field". Ha ha...... The atmosphere reminds me of a Chicago tavern and I liked our waitress. She made our visit special and there are few places in Oxford where Miami students know so much about the restaurant scene and she did a great job "selling" Oxford. Nice job and excellent service, Kennedy. We will be back!

Small little Oxford restaurant, the first time I came here around 2018 was for lunch and it was super busy, service was quick, and the food was great. This time returning, I came around 2pm, unfortunately I sat at the bar for around 10 minutes before I saw anyone working (I wondered if they were open or not?) but once I was seen by the bartender I was able to put in my order and it was made quickly. I got the BBQ Chicken salad, BBQ rub was fantastic and greens were fresh. Plenty of more menu items to try, if I'm ever back in the Oxford area, I'll be sure to come for dinner when there's a more lively crowd. Other unfortunate event was there was a drunk man wandering around the restaurant in the middle of the day and had to be cut off from buying drinks during the lunch time. I hope he's ok.

I have had nothing but great food and good experiences here. It doesn't look like much from the outside; looks quite small really. But once you walk it it's way bigger. They have a nice size bar and loads of high top tables in the bar area. If you prefer booths they have a lot of those as well and a great outside patio. Everything I have ever had here food wise has been wonderful. This is one of my favorite bars/restaurants in Oxford!

    Onion petals disappeared quickly.

We were seated immediately at 5:30 on a Friday. We started with the onion petals and they were served very quickly and were crispy and hot. The burger was tasty and fries crunchy. The fish was flaky and crispy. The chicken Parmesan hoagie was huge and sauce was awesome. A great place to eat!

Best hamburger and fries in town. I also like to order the broccoli slaw and an iced tea. Friendly service, too.

I started smiling as soon as we walked in. Such a cool and fun atmosphere. Chicago sports memorabilia everywhere you look along with Chicago food favorites on offer. The bar is old and wooden with comfortable seats. It has a really nostalgic feel, like an urban neighborhood pub from decades ago. Plenty of tables, and I've heard rumors of an upper deck that is open at appropriate times. There is also outdoor seating on High Street. The atmosphere is undoubtedly very different on a Friday night when it's packed with upper classmen throwing back shots, but on a weekday late afternoon suppertime I'd say it's family friendly and welcoming to all. (I even saw a sign behind the bar: No explicit lyrics before 9 pm.) There were several staff members at work either making food or behind the bar. They were all quite young, and quite friendly and cheerful. I'm holding off on the fifth star till we get a chance to try the food. We had already eaten and just stopped for a couple of beers (a Truth and a Mich Ultra, on tap). But now I'm writing this I'm getting a serious craving for Italian Beef, so hope to be back soon.

The bar features your classic dive-bar fixtures -- patrons that get into indecipherable arguments about high-water marks, nailing stupid things to the wall (in this case giant parrots), dart boards with no darts, curmudgeonly bartenders.... they're all here. The only thing that ruins the facade is endless entrance and exit of super-drunk preppy college kids. Picture your favorite corner bar... now, picture sitting around watching sports and suddenly 15 completely hammered kids wearing polos, blazers and khakis spill into the bar -- it's a weird juxtaposition, but this place has been around for what seems like forever, so the locals must've gotten used to it. If anything, it explains why the lone bartender -- mildly obese, perpetually clad in an untucked dress shirt and eye-divertingly snug shorts -- is at times curt, irrationally frustrated, or uncomfortably friendly. Their white russian is the stuff of legend and it does live up to it. Insider tip: Stir it up good and sip from the tiny straw, otherwise you get a mouth full of vodka and cream which is never fun. In the spirit of full disclosure -- the owners of The Circle also own Mac & Joe's and some german bar/restaurant that are ALL connected through corridors. It seems this bar is an afterthought, but it's the best of the three. Good luck findin' it!
