I have been too 10 different retail marijuana stores now (Spokane, Ellensburg & Seattle), and Novel-Tree is hand's down the best retail store in the state along with having pricing, quality and ambiance that's unrivaled. It's all about convenience now with our lovely new law, they have great hours here (10am-8pm except Sunday's I think are 12-5) and huge selection for those that like to always try something a little different. I come here often (weekly) and have watched the progression in pricing (downwards) along with competitors, and Novel-Tree not only has top shelf fire, it also has the best bang for your buck continually and pricing for any budget. - $9 gram specials (ak-47/blueberry/crit +/purple arrow) - $40 for 4 grams of green goodness (dutch bros farm) - $40 for 4 grams - assorted farmers (specials come and go fast, but usually always something) - $35 happy hours for 1/8s - Easy to read laminated Menu that's easy to navigate at each counter, divided up into Sativa/Indica/Hybrid along with thc content and CBD - plenty of choices, and smelling jars of the strains available. The owners Chris & Allie are very hands on with their business, and almost every time I've come in they are there working. The staff here is really what makes this place a gem, everyone is so nice, always smiling and will let you chat their ear off (I do it often with David), then when you throw in the pricing and selection along with the beautiful retail storefront they have created.......it's a huge win! It's nice going to a store that doesn't smell of patchouli & nag champa too....just sayin :) ***Why do I keep hearing everyone (black market buyers/med card holders) in the public say that retail marijuana is too expensive & over taxed? Please explain how an 1/8th of BC grown outdoor for $40 is a better deal from joe blow hippy guy, or your $10 grams of fire from the dispensary all my friends brag about.......I mean, I'm no mathematician, but the prices above reflect what I pay on a weekly basis at Novel-Tree and are right in line with other markets that we have all been accustomed to seeing and using, sometimes even a little less or sometimes some strains are a little more......but you get what you pay for right? If you are an individual who enjoys partaking in the greener things in life, might I reccomend if you are on the eastside stopping in and checking out this shop! This is by far one of the better cannabis shops out there. Since becoming legal I have been into a dozen different shops and have always found myself comparing other places to The Novel Tree. The people who work there are fantastic!! Very helpful, knowledgeable and will take as much time as required to make sure you are getting exactly what you need while educating at the same time! They have a very clean shop with an inviting atmosphere. I love they kiosks that allow you to browse through there current inventory giving you a good starting point for when you make it up to the counter. The product they provide has always been top notch and the selection is impressive. Wether you are into flowers, edibles, oils or vaping, these guys have you covered! In light of the recent shortage of accessible weed in the Bellevue area, I went to Novel Tree and was pleasantly surprised with my experience. Although I consider myself a loyalist to my budtenders, I appreciated my experience so much at Novel Tree that I now consider it to be my home store. Their selection of concentrates from certified organic farms as well as their extensive glass gallery were the selling points for me. The atmosphere is incredibly unique and has a PNW-meets-Jamaica kind of vibe. Typically, these artsy stores usually disappoint me because they're most concerned with aesthetic. Often, this means they sacrifice quality and consistency in exchange for having a unique experience in a dispensary. This is NOT this case at Novel Tree and a critical element to why I enjoy this store so much. As far as bud goes, the quality of the nugs were excellent all around-- big, frosty, hairy, and cured to perfection. After paying $30 for a single 'J' when the first shops opened almost soured me on the whole legal cannabis experiment. I vowed to find a decent shop, close to Renton that treated its customers like more than an open wallet. I found The Novel Tree and have come back time and again to purchase some of the finest herb around and at more than reasonable prices. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. The selection of strains is second to none, especially those with high % of CBD. They understand its not always about the high % THC buds but those that offer great taste with a moderate high . Some of us like to remain conscious after we imbibe. I'm also impressed by their selection of strains from the Okanogan Valley. (shout out to my homies there!) They also have a wide array of premium and economy glassware. It's going to take a lot for another retail shop to get my business. These fine folks have my recommendation and my thanks. read more

This is one of those stores where the budtenders wont know anything about product history, strain information, or anything possibly relevant that a customer might want to know about for a purchase. I laughed when the Budtenders couldn't give me ANY information about the strains I asked about --- nor could they give me any definitive answers on any of the products there whatsoever. Especially the Cannagars, they didnt know ONE thing about them. How are you going to attempt to sell something as pricey as a LEIRA CANNAGAR AND KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT. If its one person who doesnt know, I totally understand, but when all three of your budtenders are clearly incompetent ---- that's simply bad management. If you're going to open shop, HIRE PROPER BUDTENDERS. I absolutely hate leaving negative reviews, but this shop is just another example of paltry, commercial, Wal-mart style rec-stores. read more

If you enjoy the Devil's Cabbage, this is the retail shop for you. A wide variety at extremely reasonable prices (check this out for yourself online). They also have Happy Hour prices and various specials. I was in there yesterday to pick up an eighth of White Fire Alien, a most excellent hybrid leaning towards indica from Raven Grass (you guys rock) with 24.4% THCA and 0.11% CBD, and they had a special where I added a gram of Dutch Treat (also from Raven Grass) for $5! All told, averaged around $12.50/g for legal premium weed. The shop is very nice and brightly lit, with a selection of high-quality accessories. The greeter and budtenders are very knowledgeable and, I have to say, charming. Pardon the cliché, but totally awesome!! Worth driving to even if you don't live on the eastside... read more

I have the advantage of living in Washington state and traveling to Colorado - best of each! However, I have never found a more unique, stylish and friendly retail marijuana store than The Novel Tree in Bellevue. It's not hard to get to, in a safe and well traveled area and the staff and the store itself are unlike any similar retail or medical store! Attractive store, great staff (and nice looking and well dressed!) and no one is in a rush. Totally open environment - unlike other stores that direct customers into walled off areas to control access - sunshine through the windows! (OK - when it's not cloudy...) At first, I misjudged this for a off the beaten track bookstore. But as they say, dont judge a book by its cover. Once you walk in, you get greeted by multiple pairs of smiling welcoming faces. Prices are very reasonable compared to other places, plus you cannot beat the 4g for $40 or $35 during happy hr for flowers. Staff here are extremely friendly and helpful, interior decor and ambiance add to the welcoming and professional atmosphere. The Novel Tree hit a home run with their Bellevue shop. Amazing store, great staff, incredible glass art and best of all, some of the most competitive prices I have seen in the recreational market. There is not another shop in Washington that I will go to. Their standards are set as high as mine; no pun intended. Each of their growers are 100% pesticide free guaranteed and that to me is worth any commute. The atmosphere and employees are tremendously welcoming. It is the best calming experience.
