Highly recommend Next Step Realty. Meena my agent was very helpful in finding a place suiting my needs. Having an agent was really helpful navigating the NYC rental market. Meena was super easy to work with and regularly checked-in before going out to tour apartments. Made the whole experience must less stressful, highly recommend to anyone moving to NYC for the first time. read more

Brian helped me find a beautiful place that fit my expectations! Next Step made the process so seamless. I really appreciated that Brian not only knew what I was looking for on paper but also brought his seasoned understanding of options and trends in the housing market! read more

Next Step made the harrowing process of apartment hunting in NYC simple and easy. Our agent, Jake, went above and beyond--not just to find the perfect apartment for us, but to ensure that despite the many applicants and competitive process, we were the ones who got it. Overall, working with Next Step was a huge time save and led to a much better apartment than we could have found otherwise. read more

We worked with Jake Vitale at the beginning of March to find a two-bedroom apartment in Williamsburg, and were successful in finding a nice place! We were able to find an apartment we liked, submit an application, and submit a deposit in one day, and it was an overall easy process. It was really nice how tailored the day was to our needs (places with access to MTA, parks, and windows) and we wound up in a much nicer place than we thought possible within our budget! I would recommend working with Jake if you need to find a place on short time frame for an upcoming move! The process is simple, straightforward, and they really do care about getting you into a good place within your budget. read more

Overall our experience was good. We found a great apartment, decent area, and amenities we were looking for. We were shown about 10 apartments at a variety of price ranges which was awesome. Following our tour during the application process, we had to follow up multiple times to get various confirmations/information which was a bit of a bummer, but other than that we had no complaints. read more

My fiancé and I had an amazing experience with Jake and Next Step when moving from Michigan to NYC. I can't recommend him enough. The first place we saw was a 10/10... until we saw the second place which was even better! And ultimately we chose a place that was EVEN BETTER YET than the first and second. Honestly, the quality of the apartments was so much higher than the places we tried to find on our own within the same price range and locations. Moreover, the whole process was designed to be as convenient and stress-free as possible, as we covered a huge amount of ground in a single afternoon, with ample time at the end to fill out the application paperwork at the office. Jake was diligent in ensuring that he had everything he needed from us to make the experience as simple and easy as possible. read more

Great help for my apartment search. Marilyn was able to show me many different options, and the apartment tour day was seamless.

Really glad that I used Next Step for my apartment hunt! Saved me so much time while relocating to NYC. They are very responsive and my agent Sophie showed me 7/8 places in one day (all good options). Very happy with my new home! read more

We had a wonderful experience with Next Step. My partner and I moved from CA to NY for work and Next Step and our agent Meena made the transition seamless for us. She helped us find a great apartment that met all of our criteria in just a day of viewings, which worked great with our busy schedules. I would highly recommend Next Step for working professionals moving to NY for the first time! read more

My roommate and I had a great experience using Next Step and with our agent Victoria! We viewed multiple apartments in one day and submitted our paperwork to apply for our apartment that afternoon. Victoria not only selected great apartments that had all of our desired features, but also organized and sent all the paperwork to our selected buildings management. This process couldn't have been easier for us thanks to Victoria and the Next Step team! read more

Jake did an excellent job finding apartments that find our criteria and was on time with a car to take us to all apartment options as quickly as possible. He was quick on submitting the applications we wanted and the entire process was painless. Jake still responds quickly to any questions or requests regarding our apartment. Overall, I would highly recommend Jake as an excellent agent for renting in NYC read more

Next Step Realty was amazing. They made the apartment search process seamless and stress-free, and we were able to find an apartment in only an hour or two of searching. Jake was a very knowledgeable and helpful guide and made the process a truly enjoyable one. I'd highly recommend Next Step to anyone about to start the apartment search process - you won't regret it! read more

Meena made the relocation experience easy, seamless, and even fun. She was incredibly well-prepared, knowledgeable, and personable. The previous time I had searched for an apartment, I had haggled with dozens of brokers, had appointments cancelled at the last second, and even had brokers bring me into the wrong apartment - Meena made this experience the complete opposite as every apartment showing was well-organized and her services were worth every penny. She was able to find us the perfect apartment! read more

We had an excellent experience with Next Step and we couldn't be happier with having Victoria as our agent. She was always clear, transparent and insightful when communicating with us, while also being very warm and friendly. She put together a great list of apartments for our viewing that matched what we wanted, including the perfect place that we ended up choosing. They say apartment searching in NY can be an absolute pain, but that was not the case for us thanks to Victoria's help. read more

The Next Step Realty is flawless with customer service from start to finish! As soon as we arrived in the office we were greeted by the team, offered snacks & waters, and then met our driver for the day. We worked with Jake who was as very knowledgable about NY real estate and easily pivoted to when new asks popped up. I cannot recommend him and The Next Step team more! read more

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Jordan. He was kind, intentional, and a pleasure to work with. We could tell he put a lot of time into selecting the best possible apartments for us to view. After looking for an apartment for quite some time on our own, Jordan streamlined the process into just one day. We love our new apartment and couldn't be more grateful for Jordan and Next Step Realty. read more

Our broker, Meena made the housing process in New York miss less daunting than it is. As first time apartment hunters, her service was unmatched and created an amazing environment for us! read more

Was helpful in the apartment search and approval process. Made the entire process pretty smooth but very disappointed in the management company that they set us up with. Why would a solid broker not vet out the management companies they are showing units of if they actually cared about their clients. read more

Finding an apartment in New York City can be incredibly stressful! Luckily, after a quick Google search, I found the next step Realty. I reached out to the client support team, and was greeted with responsiveness, professionalism, and a friendly demeanor! They asked me the right questions to make sure that I was paired with the best agent to meet my needs. I was fortunate enough to be paired with Victoria Scott! Victoria was great from start to finish! When we first connected, she made sure she had a clear understanding of the criteria that I had in mind for my new apartment! She helped me feel confident and secure in the process, explaining step-by-step exactly how it would go. On the day of the showings, we met Victoria at the office where she welcomed us in with coffee and a friendly smile! She gave us all the paperwork and set clear expectations for what the day was going to be like. We got into our reserved car that would take us from apartment to apartment. She gave us a detailed list of what apartments we would be seeing and in what neighborhoods. Once we selected the apartment we wanted, she immediately reached out to the listing agent with whom it was clear she had a strong working relationship! She found out exactly what we needed for the application, and within hours, the apartment was mine! I now live in my dream home and I'm so grateful to Victoria and the next step Realty! I would highly recommend Victoria and next step if you were looking for a smooth stress free apartment search! read more

Sophie at Next Step was such a pleasure to work with. Throughout the entire process she was so organized, helpful, informed and kept our wants and needs top of mind. She showed us great properties that met our criteria. Couldn't recommend working with her more. read more

Next Step was a great partner for finding a new home! My girlfriend and I moved from SF to NYC - as we weren't familiar with the area we didn't know exactly what we wanted. Meena was excellent and took all our needs into account. She showed us a ton of options on our first day and was a wealth of knowledge about the housing process, New York neighborhoods, and the best spots to grab a bite to eat/drink. We didn't find a good fit the first day and Meena was patient and understanding. She took us out again the next day and we found a place we loved. Highly recommend. read more

Victoria is fantastic! As someone unfamiliar with the NY real estate market moving cross-country, I was a more than a little apprehensive about the process. I can't imagine how I would have handled it without Victoria - she was incredibly knowledgable, had a great lineup of apartments to view, and continued to be available after showing day until the lease was signed; helping out with all of my questions and concerns. Truly could not recommend her more! read more

I cannot express how thankful I am that I found next step when looking for an apartment. Sarah made the whole process stress free (and fun!!) which is amazing because I didn't think that was possible when looking for an apartment in NYC. I had a great experience with Sarah before even meeting with her to see apartments, she explained all the stuff we needed over the phone so we could have all our papers in order in advance. The day of apartment hunting was super easy, a driver brought us from place to place which made the day a lot less tiring than it could have been. We saw probably 6 or 7 places before deciding on one we loved, and got our application in the very same day within hours! Sarah was so incredibly helpful throughout the day, she had a clear vision of what we wanted (and what our price range was) and was on our side when seeing apartments. We really felt comfortable the whole time, and never felt like we were being pushed around to pick a specific place. I am so happy with our final choice of apartment, and we definitely would not have found it without Sarah. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sarah to friends and family, in fact I would probably do my best to convince them to use next step! read more

I had a great experience working with Next Step Realty! After I reached out, they were very quick with responding and connecting us to our agent Marilyn. Marilyn was awesome throughout the search and made sure to lead us through each step of the process through meeting with us about search criteria, answering all of our questions, and providing an easy and seamless apartment search. We looked at 8 apartments in one day and found one that worked! She made the process painless and relieved all the stress that comes with moving to NYC from out of state. read more

Katrina and Next Step Realty were super helpful in finding our next apartment and making the process quick, efficient, and stress-free. We toured around 8-10 apartments in various neighborhoods of NYC at varying prices. While we understand it's hard for each apartment to meet every criterion, every apartment listed on the tour was missing one or more of our amenities, and the apartment we ended up choosing was not even on the original list and was found on the day. Nonetheless, it was very nice to be able to go in with Katrina and see the apartment before the public open house. I would definitely use Next Step Realty again! read more

Had a great experience working with Jordan. I only had one day to tour apartments and needed to find a place asap. Jordan put together a thoughtful list of candidates ahead of our meeting, lended his expertise on value for money, and helped me win a bid for a competitive apartment with multiple interested parties. The entire process went far more smoothly than expected. read more

I found an apartment through Next Step because they were connected with my employer. When we looked for apartments, I was only taken to three - the first was already rented by someone else when we arrived (a complete waste of my time and the agent should've been more prepared), the second did not have the number of bedrooms I requested so that was also a waste of time, and the last and only option they showed me was what I rented. The driver that they hired to take us around was reckless and we got into a car accident, which left us unable to see more than two vacant apartments. The agent kept saying that there were no apartments and that inventory was at an all time low, so I was lucky to even have the option that I ended up with. The lease that I signed was a building that had a rodent problem - and I paid a hefty brokers fee for it! Next step's agent said they knew the building well because they only partner with good buildings, and that there were no problems in the past. This was a complete lie, or they really have no idea what the status of the buildings are. I would not recommend Next Step - please go find an apartment on your own rather than paying these people an inflated broker fee for asymmetrical information. read more

Next Step was a huge help in finding an apartment. Over a single day in the city we were able to find an apartment and sign and I couldn't be happier. Also cannot say enough great things about my broker, Jordan! Highly recommend!! read more

Had a great experience with Next Step! Although our initial agent ended up getting sick on the day we were supposed to tour, we had another agent (Marilyn) in place the next day. I could not be happier with the service and work provided by Next Step Realty in finding an apartment for my boyfriend and me (shout-out to our broker, Hana, who was exceptional!) We were moving from NYC to Los Angeles and had 1 day in the city to find an apartment. A few weeks prior to our appointment we had a phone call with Hana and discussed all of our needs and wants for what we were looking for (budget, location, amenities, size, etc). She took the time to answer all of our questions and ensured us that we would be able to find what we were looking for. We arrived to the Next Step Realty Office in the West Village and met with Hana who had set up a listing of 10 different showings for us to see that day. We were driven around in a black car from showing to showing and had Hana with us to help us talk to the listing agents and facilitate the conversations. Every apartment that we saw that day was something that fit within our previous conversations of what we were looking for. When we walked into to the 6th apartment that day, we instantly knew that we had found 'the one'. From that point on, Hana facilitated the application process and approval process with the landlord directly. Fast forward 1 month later and I am writing this from the living room of our new NYC apartment and am very satisfied. Finding an apartment in NYC seemed extremely daunting and without the help of Next Step Realty we wouldn't have been able to find our dream apartment. I highly recommend Next Step to anyone looking for a new apartment in the city, especially if it is your first apartment in NYC and don't know where to start. read more

I was so impressed by the fact that my agent, Luke, was able to show me so many different apartment options in one day so that I could make a quick and informed decision on an apartment. I'm grateful for Next Step and Luke's help in the process, and so excited for my new apartment! read more

Next Step Realty was absolutely fantastic to work with. As someone who is totally unfamiliar with New York real estate, Next Step Reality provided transparency in an otherwise confusing process! Meena, our agent, is just lovely. She was excellent at selecting units that fit our criteria, and was really fun to work with! She also just REALLY knows her stuff--it made me feel a lot less nervous about the process. read more

These realtors were the most unprofessional, untimely, and confusing I've ever had. There are family members and siblings working here together, which would be fine... Except that I was given a timeframe and the promise was not met THREE TIMES. So to clarify what was going on I asked a series of questions and my realtor gave my number out to a different realtor (his own sister) who called me out of the blue and literally said the words "just calm down" in a condescending and angry voice. I not once raised my voice nor did I blame my realtor in the first place (in hindsight, I really should have). She was completely rude and unprofessional. It was like a little boy telling on his friend to his mommy. I felt like I was dealing with a fifth grader and his crazy mother. Nothing was ever timely and none of the promises that were made were kept, and my brokers were even late to the lease signing. The worst brokers I've ever worked with. I suggest finding different brokers or even doing the search yourself. Their demeanor and lack of knowledge/professionalism is NOT worth 15% of whatever they do for you. Probably not even 1%. read more

Saw a good amount of options. Were fairly responsive to questions. Wish he had been a bit more upfront about the ability to put applications in at multiple places. We wanted a place that was significantly more suited to our price range but was told by him that the application would be very complex and difficult so we should not consider that option. Wish he would have told us to hedge our options earlier so we could put a deposit somewhere else while still pursuing the more risky, cheaper option immediately. We did this a day late, had to come up with the idea on our own, and missed out on the cheaper apartment. It felt like he was not upfront with us on our options when we clearly indicated our high interest in the cheaper option. And there was no urgency on his end to get this application delivered since it had to be delivered by hand. Overall, was a bit disappointed and didn't feel like the most transparent process.. read more

Had a great experience and got my dream house! Best people dealing within a business which in NYC can easily be very seedy, while my broker at The Next Step has been an honest, genuine and definitely caring person. No complains at all! read more

I cannot say enough good things about The Next Step Realty. My roommate and I were recently the victims of a fire that left our apartment uninhabitable. The Next Step approached us right away and offered to help, no questions asked. Christian and Bri waived their fees in order to work with us to find a new apartment. They began showing us high-quality listings just two days later. In less than a week we had a signed on a new apartment, and could begin putting the rest of our lives back into place. I could not have been happier with our experience with The Next Step from start to finish, despite the unfortunate circumstances that connected us. I would recommend them not only for their professionalism and attentiveness, but for their compassion and flexibility given the extraordinary circumstances. Thank you, The Next Step!!! read more

What a fantastic experience! We had a complicated situation: two new graduates coming from Boulder, one set of parents in Wisconsin, and another in Los Angeles. I called Next Step and was warmly and courteously greeted by a sweet girl at the front desk. Within an hour, I received a call from Victoria Scott, our broker guru and angel! She listened attentively to our needs, was very positive and encouraging although our budget was relatively low, calmed us (me, particularly!) when we got nervous, coordinated among us all--no small feat when dealing with 4 time zones!--and ultimately, with great speed and efficiency, found our two new New Yorkers a perfect place to hang their hats :-) Victoria continued throughout the weekend to orchestrate the movement of funds and remote signing of leases. At every step of the way we felt strongly that she had our best interests at heart, helped us push back the move in date since we did not need the apartment immediately, knew both the landlord and the co-broker personally, and couldn't have made our transition more smooth or enjoyable! As a former New York City residential broker for many, many years, I couldn't have hoped for a better experience than we had. The fee is well worth the work Next Step does on your behalf. Now onto stage two: leaning on Victoria to help us gain access for measurements, helping us with furnishings suggestions, and generally helping us coordinate the move in process. These guys are the best! read more
