New Madarine serviced us with good service and even better food. Had lunch here with my family. Something for everyone's pallet . Even for the little guys that happens to be a big food critic lol We ordered some egg drop soup, pot stickers, orange chicken, Mongolian beef , Kung-Pow shrimp and shrimp LoMein . All fresh and delicious. Service was great. Authentic and delicious. read more

We got an order for delivery tonight, and did not receive our lo mein. I called the restaurant and calmly explained the situation, but I was met with a passive aggressive tone and a "we'll have to wait for our driver to circle back." I was told it would be delivered soon, but over an hour passed so we called again. I called off of my phone and they did not pick up, so we tried on my friends phone and they answered on the second ring. After asking for an update on the order, we were shortly told to "give her a second" and put on hold. We were told that we would get a refund, but were not told what happened to our food or received anything close to an apology. The food that actually got delivered was okay. read more

This is absolutely the worst Chinese food I've ever had no flavor what so ever the orange chicken was nothing like I've had across the country and the domain had no real meat I've never done a review on anything but this was so bad I had no choice Terry read more

Great food and awesome service! Ambience is relaxed and the food is freshly made! Will be back again! read more

Ordered delivery from the Holiday Inn Express and it was great! Food quality, flavor, portion sizes, delivery containers and delivery time. Simple to order online too! Will be our "go to" place when in Laramie! read more

Think before you order anything more than fried rice or lo mein. This restaurant has gone from good to terrible. Do not order anything with beef, as they use a highly processed product that does not resemble beef. You cannot not order individual servings of soup. Service is marginal, and you will feel very rushed during the meal. Even when there were only two tables in the restaurant, the server was trying very hard to get us to finish up and leave. They only serve beverages, i.e., Pepsi in cans. A sign that they no longer have an active account with the beverage companies. They have gone from good to less than desirable. I will not return. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover!! This place was wonderful! . Considering making the drive again from Fairplay CO just for another great meal! read more

Surprisingly tasty Chinese food in Laramie! We were on our way home to Denver and had a hankering for Chinese. It was 4:00 so we were the inly diners, but it appears they are still mostly in takeout mode. We were given styrofoam plates and plastic forks! All the food were brought out in plastic containers. They also did not have a liquor license even though they had beer and wine on the menu, which were also paper take out menus. We got the Family dinner B for 2 which included hot and sour soup, egg rolls, fried shrimp, kung pao chicken, mongolian beef and rice. Everything was piping hot especially the soup and veggie egg rolls. Both were very peppery. The soup was paler than most hot and sour but very flavorful. It also had shrimp which is unusual. The egg rolls were the biggest I've ever seen. The mongolian beef some of the best I've ever had. The nice Chinese lady who served us was courteous and efficient. The food came out almost immediately. Will definitely come back when we next come through! read more

we were on the way to Mount Rushmore from the Rockies and being an Indian, looking for an Indian restaurant. we found this. we reached in the next 30 minutes, luckily it was open. it was empty. we settled and ordered chicken fried rice chicken lo-mein and hong kong chicken not sure if we were starving after 6 hrs of driving or if the food was good, but we found food delicious. there was satisfaction after the meal. Ambience-wise- it's very foresty, lots of plants. service- we were the only one so we got all the attention ;) and then we were on road again. Nice pit stop. read more

service was exceptional! Our server was attentive, thoughtful, funny and kind. the food was delicious and served piping hot! thank you new mandarin for the amazing experience! read more

Food was good- definitely a different flavor for your typical dishes (the wonton soup has a miso flavor) but it was good! Just unexpected. It was a good meal after a day of skiing. A bit more expensive than others but overall worth the stop! The young man working there was friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself is a cute old house! read more

This place is sooooo good! We had spring rolls and chicken mu-shu and it was perfect. I used to go to The Mandarin when I was in college and now whenever I'm in town I go to The New Mandarin and I've never been disappointed. And the service is great, too--so friendly! read more

We have ordered from Mandarin many times for delivery. Tonight we ordered delivery and was told 45 minutes. Ordered Chicken LoMein and Mongolian Chicken no spice. The LoMein was flavorless and the Mongolian chicken had NO sauce and very dry. Called the restaurant and he didn't seem to care and all he could offer me was a free appetizer. So much for my $50 dinner won't be returning or order delivery anytime soon. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!!! read more

We were staying in Laramie overnight and decided to get carry out. Our Food was prepared quickly and was delicious. The staff was very friendly. Again, we had take-out, so I cannot comment on the dining experience. read more

Had delivery, order was perfect and the food was amazing!! My husband had chicken fried rice and the pieces of chicken breast were huge and I have the curry chicken and it was the best curry I think I've ever had! Will be eating there again soon!! Crab Rangoon's were fresh and perfect in both texture and taste!! read more

The food was all swimming in pepper it was nasty. Even the egg rolls are huge and hard to manage swimming in black pepper, they serve drinks from a soda can it does not fill up the glass, our server was fairly nice. They have plants everywhere that's kinda fun. They have a large dining area. All could have been forgiven if they didn't heavily use black pepper on everything from the soup to the dishes to the egg rolls. read more

Absolutely the best Mongolian Beef in the universe. Don't let the exterior or the fact that they don't answer their phones stop you. This place may not be pretty but they have incredible cooks, a beautiful fish tank, and lovely staff. Can't really discuss any other dish because I always order the same dish to go with extra rice. Succulent beef, amazing sauce, crispy rice noodle topping and always fresh scallions. I will continue to order this once a month & if I were to have to choose a last meal, this might be it. read more

No lunch menu. You have to order off the dinner menu which cost more and does not include soup or eggroll. You cannot substitute fried rice for white rice. They will make fried rice but they charge you the full price of a fried rice meal. read more

A hole in the wall, but delicious. We ordered Mongolian beef, and eggplant with hot garlic sauce. My husband devoured the Mongolian beef dish! And he normally does not care for Chinese food. I thought the eggplant was nicely done. I would have preferred more eggplant and a little less sauce; but overall very satisfied. read more

Honeslty ordered the sichuan beef which didnt even have chilli's in it. It instead was beef in garlic and brown sauce which is NOT sichuan style. Good for american chinese food. But if you want traditional chinese food this is not the place. read more

Flipping delicious. I was worried when the girl who answered the phone spoke great English. But it seems like she is the daughter of the owners who are in the kitchen. The food was great and the service was excellent. read more

Their food is always fine, but man ordering is awful. They never answer the phone or have any alternative ordering option. The only plus side they have is a monopoly on the business in the town. read more

Ok I know it's only been three days, but new mandarin reminds me of home. Instead of flying 18 hours home to get legit Chinese food, I just order delivery or stop by the restaurant. I promised to update when I got a taste of the wonton soup. Holy moly mother of wontons .... It's so light and delicious!!!!!!! Not overly Salty and there is substantial meat in each wonton. Yummm! See my photo. I ordered an extra large serving tonight. Oh one super important tip! The general tso here is a house made style. It's not like the saucy chunky stuff you'd find at Panda Express. If you want that, ask for chunky. I've had both. They knew I was not local the first time so they made it chunky style for me. Then after seeing me w bunch of times I asked to try their style. It's delicious!!! Reminds me of tonkatsu (Japanese pork cutlet ) and I love that the sauce is on the side so I can control how much I put on so its not soggy!!!! Weeee!!! Thanks new mandarin. read more

The New Mandarin - Wonton soup!!! I ordered an extra large. Muahhahaha. - Chinese Near Me - Laramie, Wyoming

The last time I was here was almost one year ago. The first impression was not any good. The food was cold and there was nothing more to say about the food after that. Update: wanted to eat some Chinese today and checked out reviews and seemed like there was so much fan following for this place. Drove out there to have lunch and couldn't find a parking spot. (Last time it was deserted) I roll in, I get seated without waiting(happy customer). The buffet did not have any of the items marked on them. This makes it extremely difficult for people with allergies or preferences to choose what they want to have. I figured out most of it by staring at em for long durations. Most of the were warm and few were cold. Only if they had named I could point out easily. They have improved on the heating part and few items were coming out fresh as they were emptied out. They were understaffed to service and plates were not promptly removed. The food tasted better than what I remember last time. They did a good job at the different items they have managed to include in the menu. I am not entirely pleased with this place but it is one decent option for Chinese food in Laramie. read more

The little gem is located in what appears to have previously been a hotel. As a result the waiting and restaurant are very spacious. We ordered carry out which was neatly boxed with generous portions. Food was fresh, flavorful and reasonably priced. We are looking forward to our next trip to Laramie to enjoy it again! read more

Had the sweet and sour chicken here. Prices were a little more than I had wanted to pay, but I was treating myself. I didn't have to wait too long for my order, but as I waited I enjoyed looking around at the decorations. The chicken came with one heaping plate of rice, and another large plate to scoop chicken and vegetables out of, and an empty plate to serve yourself off of. Enjoyed the flavor and overall plentiful sauce that came on the chicken, but there were a few pieces that seemed dry or may have been overcooked somewhat. I left more than full, but with plenty of leftovers and still had room to go out for a slice of pie read more

I absolutely love Chinese food, but was surprised at the high ratings in reviews. Perhaps it depends a little on what dish you order. We had the beef with snow peas and it was quite bland. The rice tasted strange. Also got the vegetable mushu - the vegetables were fresh & well prepared but had a metallic wok taste. They delivered the food promptly to the hotel but it was only just warm and they provided no plates or forks to eat with. Wouldn't recommend it. read more

I've been coming here since I was a kid and every time I have been to the mandarin I've had a very good time so I do hands down recommend this place read more

I ordered food for us. Tiny portions, bland flavors, undercooked vegetables. Dry rice, even the chopsticks split on us. Very disappointed. I will not be ordering from here again. read more

Don't pay attention to the place inside put that aside, we're all here to eat. The food is amazing, it's fresh, hot, and done in a timely manner. This is a must stop for anyone who likes asian cuisine. My father told me who's in his 60s that this is the best that he has had so far on this earth. I did some research on this place I read the reviews and gave it a shot while we were on vacation we're from out of state. This place didn't disappoint, We we're open for suggestions and went with the family dinner for two type A and I went with the Mongolian beef and my father picked his own choice, we both received white rice, egg-rolls, hot and sour soup. The soda and lemonade is all canned no fountain available just a heads up. So I went with the Jasmine hot tea instead and it was great. I wish I took a picture of our meal to share with everyone on here but I was sidetracked with eating this delicious food. read more

I find it hilarious that a college town has two decent Thai restaurants, but not a single quality Chinese restaurant. To be fair, I was warned when I interviewed with UW. That said, I still had to try. From Texas to Georgia, I'm used to having a variety of choices and order at least once a month or hit up a restaurant with my friends from Taiwan, China, and South Korea. Having gone six months without, we ordered delivery one night after polling a number of friends about Chinese delivery options. New Mandarin seemed to be the best of the worst. We ordered the Mongolian Beef and General Tso's Chicken along with some Crab Rangoons. I'm still not sure what to call the food that arrived. "Interesting" is a good word. The beef tasted three days old and reheated, what little there was. I'm not sure that the ratio of green onions to beef in Mongolian Beef should be 3:1. And the chicken? Well, I suppose it could be described as some sort of Shake 'n Bake creation with a side cup of dark brown, flavorless sauce. I've also never had rangoons that taste "fishy," but there's clearly a first for everything. Based on the existing reviews, I'm either going to assume that they've gone [significantly] downhill or that the previous reviewers have never had quality Chinese food. read more

The New Mandarin has tasty & authentic chinese food somewhere you'd never expect. I came here a few days ago with some friends and was impressed by its quality, service, and delicious food. You definitely need to order the szechuan chicken and mongolian beef...both are awesome. If you're ever craving some authentic chinese food or want a quick bite, check out The New Mandarin. Stopped on a drive back to Idaho. The lunch specials are a good value. I was surprised at high stars though. It was marginal flavor. The hot and sour soup was gelatinous and only Lukewarm. The egg drop was a bit better. I got curry chicken which was okay., but not great. No one else in our party of 6 was overly impressed either. There was something in their standard spices that was off tasting to me. I would rather have Panda Express. Would probably try other alternatives in town. Service was okay. read more

Do not be fooled by the exterior, the food is FANTASTIC! And we've now had delivery and their delivery service is outstanding, we received our delivery food still hot and fresh.
