It was a sunny Tuesday in August, the Hubs and I decided to finally try this coffee shop. Street parking is available but somewhat rare find. They also have 2 parking stalls marked with "coffee" right by their building. This place is great for anyone who needs a place to work. They have a long power bar in the loft area, the table by the counter has a power bar tower, and the accent chairs also have a power outlet. They also have a patio (next to the 2 parking stalls) for you to enjoy your beverage/meal. The walls are hung with Art work that one can purchase home - not cheap, but hey it's art. The shop was quiet and didn't have that many guests when we arrived. We ordered a medium cappuccino and a Spanish latte. Cappuccino ($5): decent flavours. Not much else. Spanish latte ($5): also decent flavours. Not much else. Overall: the space is great for work, a bit tough on parking/modes of transportation to get here, coffee was ok (not matching to price). A little hidden gem of a cafe in East Vancouver. We came here on a weekday morning and it was quite empty with lots of room to work. Front staff were extremely friendly, amazing drinks and baked goods! Highly recommend and will definitely be back! read more

This is a nice place to stop in for coffee or a beer (on tap). It's very bright and spacious with modern design and interesting art on the walls. I also like the selection of design, architecture, etc magazines you can grab off one of the ladder racks. There is an eclectic selection of seating to choose from, whether it's a modern leather couch, a table, a patio bench or a bean bag in the corner (2nd floor). I like the options and that there's a side table or larger table on which to place your drink/food near each type of seating. I didn't have a chance to taste any food here, but I noticed they had pastries, such as croissants. They also had a variety of coffee, from just brewed to a flat white. You can also chose from two local beer on tap or red/white wine to accompany your food. I would definitely return. It's not in the most pedestrian populated area, but it's great if you're in the East Powell Street area. read more

Let start with some Positives: Its a great space, two levels, and love the retro feel of it as well. Really cool collection of vinyl records. So it was a rainy afternoon, I was in the area and wanted to come in and check it out. Pretty new place I assumed with only 3 other reviews and all 5 stars. Made me want to come check it out. Came in, only one other person on their laptop and later on realized there was a second level also had someone there. They also have outdoor seating, which would be cool on a nice summer day. I looked at the menu, I really didn't want a coffee so I decided to get a matcha and croissant. It took about 10 to 15 minutes which was fine I looked around. I was wanting just a little snack to get me through rush hour traffic. So the negatives... I got my croissant and it was heated up which usually isn't a bad thing, bad in this situation it was, REALLY BAD! I went upstairs sat down, took a bite of the croissant, it was horrible probably worst I've ever had. It was hard, I could barely bite into it, and it smelled like fish!! Yup, smelled like fish! My croissant smelled like poissson!!! I was going to go down and return it but I don't usually like to complain and at this point I just wanted to leave. I assume the croissant was heated in the microwaved where some type of seafood was in before hand and then was left to make my matcha, making it hard or it was just simply old. And the matcha it was ok, tasted strong which I liked but also powdery. Overall, it was ok I like the feel of this place and the lady working was nice and friendly. Beautiful cafe that has unique architecture, beautiful artwork, and cute floral arrangements. It has large windows allowing ambient light to come through, overall a very comfortable vibe. It has plenty of seating, with additional tables and chairs up in the loft/nook. The cafe serves locally roasted Argo coffee, and baked goods from Cadeaux Bakery. They also serve sandwiches and soup. ANNND... Beer on tap and wine. It has an outdoor area - I can foresee this place will be buzzing during a warm summer day. The owners and staff are super friendly - definitely worth checking out. read more

This is a great little spot for good coffee and yummy treats in the East Village. An earthy place that has brought a lot of nature into the design work of the cafe. All of the items offered at The Narcissus are locally sourced. They have a Bison Pepperoni that is just so good and made right here in Vancouver. They were featuring the Einspanner as a Seasonal Drink Special, which the owners described to me as a Viennese specialty coffee. It was SO good!!! It is 2 shots of Espresso topped with a cold, sweetened cream and then sprinkled with salt...the salt on top of the sweet cream brought amazing balance and flavour to the drink. This is a great new cafe that has some really delicious food and drinks! Fully enjoyed everything I tried! read more

Being that it's in it's infancy, I can only give my first impression and that is The Narcissus appeals for it's bright airy space and quality coffee and pastries. Serving locally roasted Agro Coffee and goods from Cadeaux Bakery. And I can tell you this much. The potential is here. With a bit of a menu expansion and the introduction of local beer, The Narcisssus could make a name for itself in that there aren't that many casual places that offer both coffee and beer. The outdoor space is both sparse and inviting and the upstairs loft is like a perch. *for those in the know, the location was previously known as Perch before transforming for the now departed Kessel and March. This is a very open hipster coffee shop. On a nice day which we went to luckily, it was really nice to work on my zine for a bit over a nice single shot latte. Great work inspiration. I fell in love with with this place right away when I saw some records on the wall. Not much but it is was added as a touch of decor. The Agro Coffee and goods from Cadeaux Bakery and some from East Village Bakery. I really like how they support and utilize their local neighbors in the pastry and coffee department. My girlfriend is on the Keto diet so she just had some Bison Pepperoni, a company that I am used to from what is served at breweries. Great customer service and the prices are at par with all the other coffee places in the area. read more

I am giving this place five stars, because I would love to see you thrive. The service was a bit funky, but the coffee is passable. The actual space however is stunning, it's like the film designers eye deer of want to lift in New York City would look like, The light is cool and there is lots of good reading material.
